I had one job. To kill her.

I fell in love with her instead.

War is hell.

It's even worse when you're a hitman sent to a warzone to kill your target.

Her shuttle was trying to get out before the invaders arrived.

I killed her bodyguard. But then I saw her from a distance.

She was so damn beautiful.

No way could I hurt a hair on her body. I had to save her instead.

The invaders were coming.

I kept them at bay till the shuttle took off.

She thought it was her bodyguard that saved her. It was me.

Once she was safe, I swapped identities with the dead bodyguard.

When the smoke cleared and rescuers finally found me, they called me a hero.

Gave me a medal and sent me to a hospital to heal.

That's where I met a nurse whose job was to care for me.

I couldn't believe my eyes.

It was her.

She felt like she owed me her life. I knew my job even now was to take it.

And now all I can think is…

Do I kill my fated mate?
