Chapter Nine

Jensen

"G ot it; we'll get someone to come and get you, okay," Riot says softly to her, even though it's unlikely she will hear him over the sounds of her tears.

Rylie starts to talk to her gently as she strokes her back, and now that I know Rose is in good hands, I turn back to the guys to sort the rest of this shit out.

"Billy?" Trick says the name of one of the main guys over at Tomlinson, "Come and get your shit for brains fighter. Bring someone who knows Rose Under too. Keep him the fuck away from her from now on, or we're going to have a bigger fucking problem, got it?"

Billy must barely have time to answer before Trick hangs up on him and runs his hand through his hair.

"Fucking idiot, could have ruined everything," he mutters, being careful not to say too much in front of the girl.

Everyone knows about the Pit, but we don't need everyone knowing some of the details, and we all try to keep the younger kids away from the fights, only allowing the upper years to be involved unless there are extenuating circumstances.

"How long are they going to be?" Rafe signs.

"Ten minutes max," Trick replies. "Billy sounded shocked on the phone, so I think it's safe to say that this dickhead cooked up this whole stupid plan on his own."

"The fuckers going to get an earful from them," Rafe signs with a smile.

I frown, "So long as they don't pull him from the fight for being an idiot."

Cash laughs, "Don't worry, man. I highly doubt that they'd want to stop the fight. They wanted you to help put him in place anyway, and after this, they're going to want that even more."

I smile, relief that I probably shouldn't feel going through me. I need this fight.

The guy on the floor groans, and I kick him in the face, knocking him out cold again.

"Jensen," Trick chastises, but with no real heat.

I shrug, "Oh come on, if he'd come around, then he would've carried on spouting bullshit, and then we would have a bigger problem on our hands because Cash still looks like he could murder someone."

Trick looks at Cash who just shrugs but doesn't deny shit and sighs, "Fine. They should be here any minute anyway."

Sure enough, we don't have to wait long until their truck is pulling up behind dickheads.

"Luke, grab his keys and drive the truck back to school," Billy orders and Luke nods.

He roughly searches for Ryan's keys, finding them and waking Ryan up in the process. He doesn't bother saying anything as he jumps in Ryan's truck and drives away.

Billy storms over to Ryan and unceremoniously grabs him, hauling him to his feet.

"What are you guys doing here?" he asks, looking nervous.

At least there's that; if he's nervous around them, then Tomlinson should have a better chance of getting him to fall in line.

"You're a fucking idiot," Billy growls, "you're lucky Cash just knocked you out."

"Was a lucky fucking shot!" Ryan exclaims, getting all riled up again.

Billy rolls his eyes and throws him at two of his guys, "Put the fucking idiot in the truck. We're going to have a talk about how much of an idiot he is."

"Just make sure he can still fight tomorrow," I say.

Billy's eyes land on me, his smile dark as he replies, "Oh, we won't let him miss it, don't worry."

I nod.

Billy doesn't bother saying anything else and turns back to his truck; just as he gets in, another car pulls up behind him, and he leans out of the window.

"That's Rose's older sister."

Trick nods, and we watch as he closes the front door. However, before he drives off, Ryan sticks his head out of the window. I smirk; I have a feeling that whatever he's about to say is going to be more amusing than anything else.

"I'm going to fucking end you, dickhead," Ryan shouts out of the window.

The guys all chuckle, even the ones in the car with him.

"See you tomorrow, Cupcake," I reply, finger waving at him and then blowing him a kiss.

Everyone bursts out laughing as Ryan loses his fucking shit about fighting a gay guy.

So he's a homophobic cunt too, I can't say I'm surprised. Before he can say anything else, though, Billy rolls his eyes and turns the truck around, speeding away.

Rose's sister stayed in the car, and waited while all of this was going on but as soon as they're out of sight she gets out and walks around the front of her car. We all stand silently as Rylie helps Rose up and walks her over to her sister. She says a few things that has anger clouding the sister's face before she nods once and gets in the car with Rose.

When Rylie turns back to face us, I'm surprised to see just how much anger is on her face.

When she's within hearing distance of us, she says, "I know I can't tell you what to do, and usually I wouldn't even try, but she just told me that he wouldn't take no for an answer." Her eyes flash with anger, "She's fucking thirteen. Make him bleed."

Although I'm surprised by the violence behind her words, my smile is dark as I reply, "I intend to."

She nods, some of the anger in them fading as she replies, "Good."

After she walks off, I say to the others, "If Tomlinson doesn't manage to get him under control soon, then we're going to have to take matters into our own hands."

"I'm already on it," Cash says, "I've got a couple of our people looking into his family and what moved them here."

"Good idea," Trick replies, "we can drive them out of town if we need to. We've done it before."

"I have a feeling that Billy isn't going to mind this time," Rafe signs.

"Definitely not," Riot agrees and then adds, "From what I've heard, they've spent most of their summer fucking chasing his ass around and trying to keep him in line."

"I knew it had to be bad if they wanted us to step in," I reply, and then add, "I can't wait to make him fucking bleed."

Trick smirks and then adds seriously, "Don't kill him."

"I won't, but I'm going to make him wish he was dead," I reply, my mind turning dark.

"It's been a while since someone in a Pit fight has deserved it quite as much as this guy does," Luc muses.

I nod, "Yeah, he's more like one of our jobs."

"Come on, we better get to class," Trick announces.

I sigh, I'm really not in the fucking mood to sit in a classroom all day, but after we got caught at the Pit, we all made a promise to our parents that we wouldn't skip school anymore, and we're sticking to it.

"I should've brought more coffee," Cash says, looking down at his cup forlornly.

Trick chuckles and claps him on the shoulder, "Come on, man, we can get you more coffee at lunch; I'm pretty sure we've only got one lesson left now, anyway.

"Fine, but I'm holding you to that." Cash grumbles.

As I walk through the school doors, I see my math teacher coming from the other direction. He nods in acknowledgment but doesn't say anything as he just carries on walking. I love the amount of respect that we've gained here. Even some of the cops will look the other way if we need them to; they're aware of what we've done for the town and what we continue to do. The only reason that we couldn't sweep the Pit incident under the proverbial rug is because of how big the operation was and how many people were involved.

We did get off a lot lighter than we should have.

The joys of living in a small town.

"Do you think any of them called the cops?" Luc asks curiously, not sounding concerned at all.

Trick shakes his head, "I doubt it. They knew we had it covered. If it turned into a full-on fight, then they may have."

I shake my head, "I hope Billy is stressing the importance of following the fucking rules, especially at the moment."

Cash's eyebrows raise slightly, "If he doesn't, we will; Billy knows that and doesn't want his authority undermined."

"Good point. That would make people lose faith in his ability to be in charge. The last thing any of them needs is a power struggle." Trick replies.

"If that happens, it'll most likely spill over to affect us with people trying to make power plays," Riot adds with a frown.

"I don't think we need to worry. No one can lead it like Billy can, even with an idiot like Ryan causing shit." Trick replies.
