28. Avery
Artemis’s POV
“IESHA!” I called out her name.
When she turned around I tossed her a strap with the same glass vile like the one I gave Blake.
“Give that to everybody that were in the cells.” I commanded.
She nodded and started to pass them out.
Everyone was starting to fight Logan’s rogue army.
I felt an arm go around my waist. He arm was connected to Blake.
“I want you to stay with me at all times. I don’t want want you getting hurt.” He said.
“I can handle myself Blake.” I punched a rogue that was charging at us and stabbed his chest with the sword I had. “See.”
“Still. Just stay close.” He begged.
I gave in. “Fine. Be careful.”
I pecked his lips and stabbed another rogue that was running towards me.
I heard a whistle. I looked around an saw my grandpa tossing my bow and quiver to me.
I strapped them on and smiled at him.
Even though I had my bow I stuck to the sword.
I saw Justin and Iesha using their element powers.
Justin was striking rogues with lighting and Iesha was trapping rogues to trees.
“Oh Artemis!” Logan called out my name. “I have some help.”
From the tree emerged, Iesha’s ex-mate and his entire pack.
Iesha saw him and lost concentration. All the rogues she had trapped were now released.
She fell to her knees and stared off into space. She showed no emotion. She looked like a statue.
The rogues now saw her vulnerable.
Me, Justin, and Tyler surrounded her and fought off the rogues.
“C’mon Mate. You know you missed me.” Alpha Mac smirked.
All three of our heads snapped is direction.
Tyler growled loudly.
Anger washed over me. He had no right to call her mate.
“I’m going to kill you!” I yelled it was loud enough for him to here over all the growls and snarls.
His head snapped to me. He shifted as I started to run towards him.
He started to run to me growling and snarling.
He jumped in mid air. I injected the sword into his mouth and it came out his back.
“That’s what you get for being an ass.” I pulled the sword out of him.
Iesha screamed in pain and held her chest.
The rest of his pack felt the same pain of their alpha dying.
I ran to Iesha and injected a needle in her arm.
She jolted up and looked energized.
“What happened? I don’t think I want to know. I’m hungry. Can I eat? No, wait I can’t we’re in battle. Why did I feel pain? Did I-” she started rumbling super fast but Tyler cut her off by smashing his lips into her.
In case your wondering, yeah I gave her a sugar high with my anti-wolfsbane serum.
Tyler finally pulled away.
I looked around and most of Alpha Mac’s, and Logan’s army were nearly wiped out.
“Iesha I will explain what happened later but now I need you to tie Logan to a tree.” I shook her shoulders.
“Ok.” She nodded. “But I have to get close.”
Tyler growled.
“Not that kind of close dumbass.” Iesha scowled.
I rolled my eyes. “Follow me.”
Rogues we’re charging at us as we ran, trying to keep us away from Logan.
I sliced and stabbed every rogue that got in my way.
We were about a yard away from Logan.
“Iesha tie him to a tree now!”
She nodded and wrapped a tree around Logan.
He looked confused and started struggling. His eyes landed on me as he kept struggling.
Iesha tightened her hold on him. He groaned in pain.
I started to run towards him with my sword.
Everything went silent. Everybody on both sides froze and started at me.
Logan kept struggling.
Fear took her his face but he masked it.
I kept running until I was an inch away.
“This time I’ll make sure you stay dead!” I yelled.
A child’s laughter stopped me before the sword touched his chest.
We both snapped our heads in the direction of he laughter.
A little girl around the age of three emerged from the forest.
Logan smiled but then frowned. “Avery, I told you not to follow me.”
“Sorry daddy. I was just bored.” She pouted then smiled. “Daddy why do you have a ninja and a tree?”
“Daddy is just playing with some friends.” Logan replied.
I snapped my head in his direction. “You have a kid?”
“He’s not my actual daddy.” The little girl, Avery answered. “My mommy and daddy got stuck in our car and become stars in the sky. He found me and helped me.”
Logan smirked at me. “See Artemis. It’s fate that I stay alive.”
“I’ve told you many times before Logan. I don’t believe in fate I believe in choice.” I cut the tree that was holdin him. “And I choose to let you live. For Avery’s sake.”
“I’ll be back Robin Hood.” He took Avery’s hand and walked into he forest.
Someone grabbed my wrist and spun me around. I was faced with a confused Blake.
“Why did you let him go?” He asked.
“The little girl. Logan may be a villain but he’s great with kids. He won’t hurt or scare her.”
“What makes you think that?”
“I’ve known Logan for a long time. He won’t hurt her.” I assured.
“I respect your decision.” He brought his lips to mine. “The rogues have been killed we can go home now.”
I nodded as he took my hand and we started walking.
I looked around. Nobody on our side died but they were still very injured.
Blake held his other hand on his stomach. I slapped his hand away and saw blood on his shirt.
I lifted his shirt and saw a healed wound.
“You should have told me you were hurt.” I looked to at him.
“I’m already healed its fine.”
I left go of his shirt and rolled my eyes at him.
‘Elise?’
‘Yeah.’ Her voice was faint.
‘Did I do the right thing?’ I asked.
‘Of course you did. Avery would have lived her life without parents. She would have been alone.’
‘Then why do I feel-’ my thoughts we’re interrupted by Blake.
“Artemis?”
“Hm.” I looked up at him.
“Are you ok?” He asked.
I nodded slowly. “Yeah I’m fine.”
He nodded and kept walking.
‘Elise if I did the right thing, then why do I feel like I made a mistake.’
‘Don’t worry about it. You know we have bigger things to worry about.’ She reminded me.
‘I know Elise.” I placed a hand on my stomach. ‘I know.’
