32. Ella

Chapter thirty-two

Ella

I swipe my knife, grateful for my red dress as blood splatters the fabric.

That's the last protestor.

The fuckers chased me down the streets for several blocks and it looks like I killed the last one.

The others soon got the message, realizing that I'm not to be messed with.

That's what they get for taking me for granted.

I am a Rogue, and that means beware.

They attacked Brody. Tried to take him from his Alpha's arms, and they will pay.

I will kill every Beta protestor until Brody is safe.

But first, I have to return home.

Brody needs me.

They got him away in the limousine, and hopefully, I bought them enough time.

Brody will be in his nest by now, and the Alphas will be giving him their knots.

They better be or there will be hell to pay.

Slipping my knife in the strap beneath my dress, I start making my way back to the venue.

From there, I can track his scent.

It was strong enough after all and still lingers in the air—that sour cherry laced with distress.

I make sure to stick to the shadows.

When I get to the venue, I spy Jeremy and Gryphon outside dealing with the police.

It looks like Pack Titan left a pile of carnage in their wake and I ball my fists.

I may be at odds with them, but they will not go down for hurting those Betas.

They had no choice.

They were going to take Brody.

A part of me wonders if I should go to Jeremy.

After all, he is a friend.

His Omega is a Rogue too, so he will help me get back to the pack.

But what if he doesn't?

They left me and failed to protect me.

He and Gryphon may just take me away from them, and then I will never see Brody again.

Hell will freeze over before that ever happens.

I make up my mind and follow the scent of Brody back to the pack house.

It's a long road till I get there, but when I finally spy that country house on the horizon, I cry tears of joy.

I'm coming, Brody.

The house is quiet, and for a moment I don't think they're home until I hear it from an open window.

Brody.

He's moaning in deep, carnal pleasure, and my core throbs at the sounds he's making.

I want to be beside him.

Brody is mine too, and I'll be damned if I won't be there for his heat.

The backdoor is locked, so I grab a rock off the ground and smash it until it opens. Then I sneak into the kitchen, creeping up to the nest.

But then the lights blare on and I hiss when I spy that hulking Alpha standing in the threshold.

Theo.

There's no missing the crack of lightning as it zaps through the air, making the hair on my arms rise on end.

He has his arms crossed over his chest, barring my passage, and I grind my teeth.

He better get out of my way.

I guess it was only a matter of time until we fought.

I just hope Theo is prepared to lose.

"And where do you think you're going, Rogue?"
