With no customers to speak of, Psychic Tennyson Grimm decides he's going to take some well-deserved time away from work, when a woman bursts into his office with a cremation urn she found in a neighbor's trash. Laura is excited for Tennyson to make contact with the spirit, so that she'll have an incredible story to tell her book club. Furious that the woman could be so callous, Ten kicks her out of the shop, and reaches out, unsuccessfully, to the spirit.

Meanwhile, Detective Ronan O'Mara and the rest of the Cold Case Unit are looking into the disappearance of Salem resident, Effy Lou Josephine, a childless cat lady, who loves Bingo and has never met a stranger. With the help of the media, her nephew, Spencer, makes a desperate appeal for the safe return of his beloved aunt. However, when Ronan and the team speak with Spencer, who is jobless and broke, they find that Effy Lou has been dead for several weeks and what is really missing are her remains.
