Psychic Copeland Forbes is in Canada to work, but after meeting Cannonball’s wife and young son, can’t help getting involved in the push to save the man’s life. When the angry stuntman refuses to listen to reason, Cope has a vision in which he sees Cannonball’s entire family crash and burn as a result of the stunt gone wrong. The reason for Cannonball’s stubbornness is unfathomable to Cope. The daredevil wants to one up his father, who died trying to survive the falls twenty years ago.

Meanwhile, Detective Ronan O'Mara and the rest of the Cold Case Unit are looking into the disappearance of Salem resident, Effy Lou Josephine, a childless cat lady, who loves Bingo and has never met a stranger. With the help of the media, her nephew, Spencer, makes a desperate appeal for the safe return of his beloved aunt. However, when Ronan and the team speak with Spencer, who is jobless and broke, they find that Effy Lou has been dead for several weeks and what is really missing are her remains.

With the kids out of school for the summer, Detective Jude Byrne takes everyone on vacation to Arizona to visit the Grand Canyon and his grandfather, Running Eagle. The trip will be a chance for everyone to relax and enjoy some fun in the sun without a cold case to work or ghosts to hunt. Little does Jude know he's dead wrong on both counts.

While driving through Navajo Nation on the way to a family reunion, psychic Copeland Forbes has a terrifying vision. Several women scream in agony while another begs for help. It turns out four Navajo women have disappeared without a trace over the last six months, the last being college student, Prairie Moon. With no clues to their whereabouts, the cases have all gone cold.

Wanting to spend one last summer weekend with his family, Detective Jude Byrne books them into a four star hotel on Maine's beautiful rocky coast. Unfortunately, when Jude arrives, he finds the name of the hotel is Four Star and the motel itself looks the same as it did when it opened in 1976. It's a dump and no one wants to stay the night, especially after the owner tells them its haunted by Cyrus Longfellow; a notorious playboy who was found robbed and murdered in his room back in 1994.

Psychic Cope Forbes spends the first night in the room Cyrus died in, listening to strange sounds, not knowing if they're coming from the decrepit motel, the ghost himself, or his husband who over did it at the all you can eat lobster buffet. Feeling as though the ghost deserves a happy ending, Cope digs in, hoping he can contact the spirit to find out who killed him and get Cyrus to cross into the light, all before their last weekend of fun comes to an end.
