SIOBHAN

Indigo is so sexy once he mellows out. A few times during our date, he gets stuck in his head. He’ll put on his intimidation expression and try to push me away. When I ignore his negative vibe, he chills and returns to his naturally sweet self.

“I don’t want you to leave yet,” I tell Indigo when we pull into my garage. “Will you come inside and fool around with me on the couch?”

Indigo immediately gets tense. “No fucking.”

“Look, I get it. You’re hung up on purity or whatever, but I’m perfectly capable of making out with you on the couch without riding your dick.”

“Are you, though?”

“Didn’t you hear? I had sex a few weeks ago. That ought to last me for a year or two,” I tease and climb out of my truck. “Let’s have a little fun. I might even dance for you.”

Indigo chills out as soon as I mention dancing. He’s no doubt seen my slick moves and can’t wait to admire them again.

Once inside, I use the bathroom, check my teeth, ditch my shoes, and return to the living room to find Indigo standing at the back doors.

“What are you thinking about?” I ask as I consider changing my pants since I’m feeling bloated.

“I was wondering how my dogs would do at your house.”

“You worry too much. Your dogs are smart. They can handle new situations,” I say and inch toward the hallway. “I’m going to change into sweatpants. Between pregnancy and my steak, I’m bound to burst out of my jeans and ruin our ‘no fucking’ plan.”

I don’t wait around to see Indigo’s response. I hurry to my closet, grab loose black sweatpants, and nearly fall on my ass trying to switch clothes too quickly. A little part of me fears Indigo might disappear. He’s been very present all night, yet I’ve seen him bail on uncomfortable situations before.

Hurrying back to the family room, I find him still at the back doors.

He glances at me. “Are you really going to name the baby Bishop?”

“No, probably not. Maybe Apone or Newt instead. ”

Indigo walks over to where I rest on the couch. “I don’t like those names. Do I get to help choose?”

“Is that a real question?” I ask, immediately straddling his lap once he sits next to me. “You know Sync helped me pick the twins’ names. Why wouldn’t I ask my new baby daddy to help?”

Indigo offers a little smile. “I think the baby should have a name like the twins. Their names are pretty. I also like how no one says them right.”

Laughing, I kiss his cheek. “One day, Deirdre will absolutely grow to hate how she needs to pronounce her name for everyone. But for right now, she seems to love correcting people.”

“When Caveman started calling me Indigo, I didn’t know what the hell the word meant. It felt weird and made up, but it’s a good name.”

“I also like your name,” I whisper and kiss his forehead. “It has a lot of vowels like mine.”

Indigo grins at my reasoning. His fingers brush across my hips, testing whether he can get comfortable with us so close.

I look into his eyes and ask, “Is it hard to control your urges when our bodies are pressed together like this?”

“Yes,” he says, sounding pained.

“I know you want us to stick to over-the-clothes action. I promise to keep us from going too far.”

Instantly on edge, he mutters, “I’m not a child or an animal.”

“No, but you’re super horny for me, and jacking off can only do so much. It’s normal for you to want to fuck. The more we fool around, the better we’ll be about controlling ourselves. But I have more practice.”

“Because of Sync,” he grumbles, even more annoyed now.

“No, I’ve had a lot of boyfriends. You don’t know them. They went to a different school. A few live in Canada.”

Indigo watches me. “I’m not a virgin.”

“I know, baby,” I murmur and stroke my belly.

“I mean I wasn’t before you.”

“Duh. You fucked too well to have never done it before. But you also fucked like a guy who’s been waiting for a long time to get laid,” I say, losing my grin. “I thought you wanted to go all the way that night. That’s why I let our lust take charge. But I know what you want now. I understand how I can’t rip off your clothes and go to town on your hot body. I’ll control myself, so you don’t have to. ”

Indigo frowns at me like I’m annoying him. Suddenly, he starts laughing and says, “You seemed so horny that night.”

“I hadn’t had sex in years, and you’re hot. I saw my chance to feel good and jumped at it.”

“What if it had been a different club brother?”

“We probably would have slept together. But maybe I wouldn’t have wanted to talk to him afterward. I did want to talk to you.”

Indigo frowns. “I was rude afterward.”

“Yes, you were,” I say and nuzzle my lips across his jaw. “You hurt my feelings.”

“I’m sorry.”

“I know you are. I didn’t understand why you were so angry, but I do now,” I say and cup his face. “Because I see you, Indigo, and I don’t plan to look away, okay?”

My words inspire his hands to stop dancing around the fabric of my sweatpants. He tugs me closer. His lips consume mine. In a flash, Indigo goes from cold and cranky to hot and horny.

My body instantly aches for more. I roll my hips against his. Indigo groans, tugging himself free from our kiss.

“Ignore my hips,” I say in between kissing his lips. “Think about my brain and personality.”

Indigo laughs, forcing me to stop kissing him. “Why are you so sexed up?”

“I can’t just pretend I haven’t seen you naked,” I tell him as I stroke his chest. “Or that I don’t know how you can make me come. It’s been so long since a man wanted me.”

“Lots of men want you,” he mutters, instantly irritated about that fact.

Kissing his cheeks, I nuzzle my breasts against his chest and try not to rip off our clothes.

“This thing between us is special,” I say in a frenzied voice as I suck at his throat. “You’re not like other men. You’re a member of the Backcountry Kings. That makes you family. You’ve been my friend for half my life. I feel safe with you. To know you’ve wanted all of me, not just my body, is incredibly sexy. So, I won’t apologize for embracing a perfectly normal lust for a man I want.”

As Indigo studies me, a hint of a smile warms his handsome face. He doesn’t know how to let most people close. He only seeks out affection from my mom .

Right now, I feel him realizing he can feel close to me. I won’t judge him. He doesn’t need to hide from me anymore.

Indigo wraps his arms around my body and traps me against him. He kisses me deeply, marking me and offering promises.

I hadn’t been sure we could work as a couple. Yet, as his lips suckle my throat and he murmurs my name, my new reality becomes clear. I’m keeping Indigo!
