EPILOGUE – REID
THREE MONTHS LATER
I 'm damn near out of breath, but I'm not too exhausted to fully appreciate the unbelievably beautiful sight in front of me. Nothing is more stunning than my woman's curves. Seeing them hugged by a pair of dirty overalls is one thing, but right now, with Mackenna lying naked on the bed, wearing nothing but her engagement ring, she's a work of art.
"Look at you," I groan, smoothing my hands over her plump legs. "You're so goddamn beautiful."
Mackenna smiles playfully, spreading her thighs wider to show me what I just did to her. Her pussy is still pulsing and dripping with my cum. "You make me feel beautiful, Reid."
I swipe a thumb across the dripping cum and push it back inside her. Then I smooth my sticky hand up over her soft belly. Our wedding isn't for another few months, but we couldn't help ourselves from getting started on the baby-making front.
"What do you think?" I ask. "Is there a little one growing in there yet?"
"I'd be shocked if there wasn't," she says. "It feels like you've kept me in this bed for months straight."
"Is that a complaint?"
"What do you think?"
I shift forward, moving over her and caging her in again. "I think your pussy isn't full of enough cum."
The way she moans my name when I push into her soaked cunt almost makes me come right then and there. But I cling to self-control. I drive into her deeply, showing her exactly how much she's mine—today and forever.
When she comes, it rocks me just as much as it always does. I join her with pleasure, filling her again and capturing her parted lips as she moans my name.
Afterward, as I'm collapsing beside her, I glance at the clock by the side of the bed and see how late in the day it already is.
"Shit," I say. "We told Shaw we'd be there at four."
"Oh, no. Reid! We're so late!" Mackenna scrambles out of bed, in full-on panic mode.
I can't help but laugh. "It won't be the first time I've made my brother wait. It's not a big deal."
"It might not be a big deal to you , but I don't want Shaw to be annoyed with me. I don't want a disgruntled man baking our wedding cake."
"I've never seen Shaw disgruntled in his life."
"Reid, come on . We have to go!"
Sure enough, when we show up to Shaw's bakery, he waves away Mackenna's apologies about our tardy arrival. Then he ushers us over to one of the nearby tables and brings out a dozen different cake slices for us to taste.
It's no surprise that they all taste incredible.
"Um, Shaw?" says Mackenna, going in for another bite of the chocolate cake. "I think we're going to need you to bake us twelve wedding cakes."
My brother laughs, then looks at me. "What do you say, Reid?"
I shrug. "If that's what she wants, that's what we're having."
Mackenna sighs and nudges up her glasses. "Hold on. I'll narrow down my favorites. I just need a minute to process all of this deliciousness."
"Take as much time as you need," Shaw says, looking pleased. "You don't even need to give me an answer today. I can wrap these up and you can do another taste test at home."
"Ooh. Yes, please," says Mackenna. "Thanks, Shaw."
"My pleasure." Shaw gets up to grab some plastic wrap and brings it over to the table. "How's the rest of the wedding planning going?"
"Good," Mackenna and I say at the same time, which makes all of us laugh.
"Are you going to bring a date, man?" I ask my brother.
"I'd sure like to," says Shaw. "Can't make any promises, though."
"I wish I had someone to set you up with, Shaw," says Mackenna.
"That's sweet of you," he says. "It's okay, though. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be." He glances toward the front of his shop. "I've always had a feeling that, someday, the woman I'm meant to be with will walk through that front door. I don't know how likely it is that it'll happen in the next couple months, but if it does…well. You two will be the first to know."
After leaving the bakery, Mackenna and I swing by the hardware store for a few things, and then the grocery store. As we're walking back to the truck, we pass by a little maternity shop that I never noticed until now. Naturally, Mackenna's feet slow as she looks longingly through the shop's windows.
"Let's go in," I say.
"No, that's silly. We don't need to yet."
"Okay. But as soon as you show me a positive pregnancy test, I'm taking you here for a shopping spree."
Mackenna laughs, slips her hand into mine, and pulls me down the sidewalk.
"Someone's eager to get back to bed," I say, amused.
And off we go, heading toward home. These days, our two side-by-side properties feel like one big beautiful piece of land that belongs equally to both of us. The house I'm renovating is for the two of us and our future children. The sanctuary is full of creatures that I've come to feel surprisingly fond for.
Even Daisy, that little troublemaker monkey, makes me smile every time I see her.
