Chapter 8

ANDREW

I parked my truck beside the other wedding guests’ vehicles. As soon as I’d looked through my bedroom window this morning, I’d said a silent prayer of thanks. It was one of those wonderful March mornings when the sky was bright blue and you knew the day would be perfect.

Opening the passenger door, I took out my camera bag and jacket. Even though it was a beautiful afternoon, the weather could change in a heartbeat. The barn was fully insulated and looked adorable, but I didn’t want to freeze if I went outside.

“Nice suit,” Jacob said from behind me.

I turned and smiled. I’d found the charcoal-colored suit on my last trip to Los Angeles. There weren’t that many places you could wear a suit in Sunrise Bay, but it was perfect for Jonathon’s wedding. “Hi, Jacob. How’s Shane?”

“Nervous. He told me to come and meet you in case you got lost.” How was Jonathon?”

I’d spent the last hour with Jonathon and his family taking casual photos as they got ready for the wedding. “He’s remarkably calm. The photos with his parents are lovely.”

Jacob took my camera bag out of my hands. “You’d better come with me before Shane sends out a search party.”

As we walked toward the barn, I checked my watch. “We’ve got plenty of time. There’s still twenty minutes until Jonathon arrives.”

“Try telling that to Shane,” Jacob muttered. “He’ll wear a hole in the floor with the amount of pacing he’s doing.”

“Don’t worry about Shane,” I told him. “Once he sees Jonathon, he’ll feel better.”

Reaching forward, Jacob opened the door at the back of the barn. “I hope so. He’s waiting upstairs in the loft with his parents.”

I walked into the barn and climbed the wide wooden stairs. Taking the photographs of Shane and Jonathon’s wedding was an honor and a huge responsibility. So far, everything had gone really well.

If the images I took during the rest of the day were as good as the ones I’d already taken, everyone would be happy.
