Chapter Ten 187

Chapter Ten

Tracker

Today, if all went to plan, would be execution day. When he returned from work, I would be waiting inside his home to subdue him. The person ordering the hit wanted a souvenir… his right hand. So, I would chop it off while my body cam silently watched, then kill him.

I had a syringe of Versed. It would put him in such a relaxed state that he wouldn’t even care that I was pilfering his limb. Depending on how weak his constitution was, he may even fall asleep. Wouldn’t that be a kick in the ass? I would then have to wake him up so my client can see the mark’s reaction to the loss.

I was in disguise, my blonde wig and a black hoodie. I even had brand new black tennis shoes on. These would get burned before I returned to the hotel. I had rubber gloves, so no fingerprints anywhere. I even loaded the gun with the gloves on so the bullets wouldn't have my fingerprints.

I pulled onto a side street and parked my car. Sliding out, I looked like a jogger. I started running around the block. When I got to his house, I bent down as if tying my shoe. Glancing around, I didn't see anyone else outside. I ran around the back of the house and broke in through the back door .

I walked around the layout of the house to get the feel of it. Then I sat and waited. Waiting was my specialty. I could wait in one spot for hours. Just calculating my next move. When I heard his key in the door, I let him walk into his living room, then I walked up quietly behind him with the syringe, grabbed his head and plunged the needle into his neck.

He tried to fight it. Even managed to swing around and land a punch in my jaw. My eyes teared up on impact.

Finally the medication kicked in and he dropped. My jaw still smarting, I bent over and pulled the handsaw out of my pocket. Taking his right hand, I secured it with a zip tie to the leg of the couch. Then I zip tied his legs together.

I started sawing his hand off when he woke up. He tried thrashing, but the drug was still making him sluggish. He attempted to talk or scream, maybe both. His face looked on in horror as I sawed his hand down to the bone. Now, a handsaw is not going to tear through bone, but I needed something I could fit in my pocket. Once all the skin and tendons were cut through all the way around down to the bone, I put the saw down, took the exposed bone in my hands and snapped them apart. Shock had his jaw dropping before he passed out .

I smacked his face until he woke up. Putting the handsaw and hand in a plastic bag, the man looked at me in disbelief as I shot him in the chest. One shot straight through the heart.

Collecting the syringe, I looked around, it was a bloody mess. The jagged part of his bone was sticking straight out. Not my finest work, but I did what the customer wanted. I snapped a picture and left out the back door.

I jogged to my car, slid in, and drove to a busy store parking lot. I placed the hand in a box I had prepared with dry ice. Taping the box up, I placed my gloves, my wig, my shoes, and my hoodie in a plastic bag. The saw made the final entry before I tied it up.

Entering the shipping store I found the day before, I shipped the box to the client. Back outside, I sent the image of the completed job via text. I normally did all the cleanup at the motel but with Cait there, it was not a viable place to do it. So, for the first time, I did it all in the car. I got out into the parking lot and studied the car to make sure there wasn’t any blood anywhere. I wiped all the surfaces down and took the bag with all the disposal items to a dumpster outside the store. It was risky. Normally I would burn all of these items outside of my home but these weren't normal times .

Back in the car, I checked my work phone to make sure the picture went through. I remembered I had another job, so I decided to look at that message before returning to the hotel.

I wasn't prepared for what I saw.
