Ameline: How's Cedric doing today?

Gabe: Better? He was asleep when I left for school.

Ameline: So, am I to assume that Jamie broke up with him, huh?

Gabe: Yeah. Sorry for not texting back yesterday. I got busy with my siblings' bedtime routine and when I got home your brother needed a lot of attention. A lot.

Ameline: Poor guy. How bad was it?

Gabe: He cried so much, but it's definitely over. There's no way he'll go against your dad's wishes.

Ameline: I don't understand why she gave him an ultimatum when she knows how my father is.

Gabe: I honestly don't think he loves her that much. I mean, if he did, he would ignore anyone, including your father.

Ameline: I'm wondering if I should discuss this with my therapist.

Gabe: What exactly?

Ameline: I don't understand my brother's actions. Choosing money over love.

Gabe: As I said, he doesn't love her enough to lose everything he's worked for.

Ameline: You're probably right. Love seems so complicated. Not sure I want any part of it.

Gabe: Don't be too cynical. You're too young for that.

Ameline: Have you seen my family?

Gabe: I gotta go, class is starting. Talk later?
