Chapter Ten

Bishop

I am obsessed. It’s official.

I help Allegra dress and ride down the elevator with her. We wait in silence for the valet to bring her car, and then I help her into the low seat. I kiss her deeply, fisting her hair in my hands one last time before I let her go.

On the inside of her thigh, I see the evidence of our night together. Her skin is wearing bruises from how harshly I handled her, and my cum is smeared on her skin. I want to beat my chest like a damn neanderthal. I wish my marks were more permanent, but she isn’t mine.

“Thank you,” she says, smiling up at me.

“I should be the one thanking you.”

“You changed my mind about Christmas,” she says softly. “It always made me sad, but now I have a better memory to replace the sadness. It’s the best gift anyone has ever given me.”

I smile, but I don’t say anything. Instead, I close the car door and knock on the roof twice. She doesn’t turn back to look at me before she drives away, and I feel like burning the world to the fucking ground. I never should have gone near her. I never should have fucked her or tasted her.

Now I know what I am missing, and I feel the hole inside my soul already growing with every mile she drives away from me. I want to jump on my bike and chase her down, force her to come with me, wherever we can be together. But nothing is that simple.

I promised her a single night of sex.

I promised her no strings attached.

A night to remember. And that’s what I delivered. But now I regret the boundaries I set. I want to be able to see her again, maybe even see if what I’m feeling is something more than simple infatuation.

But I’m a fucking outlaw biker for God’s sake. She is the manager of a brothel for the damn mafia. There is no way on God’s green earth anything between us could ever happen past what we already did. Our worlds are too far apart and yet too close together.

I’ve never felt a single fucking thing for any woman I’ve stuck my dick into. Now, I’ve caught some kind of fucking feelings, and I can’t do a damn thing about it.

I make my way to my motorcycle and kick it to life. I ride through the streets of downtown Gypsy Falls, watching as the world around me awakens. I drive around for over an hour before heading over to Mad Dog’s house.

Kaiya answers the door after I ring the bell, a wide smile on her face.

“How do you always know when the food is ready?” she asks with a laugh. “You’re like a fucking bloodhound.”

I hug her before closing the door and following her to the kitchen. “I’m a growing boy,” I say in jest. “Now feed me, woman.”

“You should be grateful that I like you. Anyone else would let you starve.”

I laugh, but it doesn’t feel right. It feels empty, like something is missing.

“Looks like someone had a fun night,” Mad Dog says with a smirk the moment he sees me.

“Judging by the three hickies on his neck, I’d say you’re right,” Kayia says with a giggle.

My hand moves to my neck like I can actually feel the evidence that Allegra had her lips pressed to my skin mere hours ago. Fuck. I didn’t even know about them. Shows how much attention I was paying.

“What brings you here?” Mad Dog asks when he sees my face.

Kaiya sets down a plate full of breakfast in front of me when I take a seat, and they both wait patiently for me to answer.

“Where are the kids?” I ask, evading their questioning gazes for a moment.

“Stayed at Pope’s,” Kaiya says. “Stop stalling and spit it out. What happened?”

My gaze jumps from my friend to his woman and back again. I know they have been through a lot before they finally found their happily ever after with each other. They faced and conquered more adversity than any couple I know. It’s why I came here.

“How long did you know each other before you knew you were in love?”

Kaiya laughs loudly with her head thrown back. “Depends on if you’re asking me or him.”

“Why does it matter?” I ask.

“Well…”

Mad Dog cuts her off before she can explain. “I fell in love the moment I laid eyes on her,” he says with a shake of his head. “It took her a little longer.” He shrugs with a roll of his eyes.

“You believe in love at first sight?” I ask, my voice incredulous.

“I didn’t,” he says with a smile. “Not until I saw Kaiya.”

I nod, knowing exactly what he means. The moment I laid eyes on Allegra I was smitten.

“Did you meet someone?” Kaiya asks cautiously.

“It doesn’t matter,” I say, taking a bite of bacon. “She is involved with the Cammareri family.”

“Shit brother.”
