I don’t keep a lot of things from my husband.

I don’t want him to know that I keep tabs on my sister and Ted. I’m lucky that I didn’t have to be a witness in Ted’s trial. My sister ended up going to a psychiatric facility instead of prison. I told the police that she had planned on killing me, but Dad had her plead insanity. My dad and mom hurt me by standing up for my sister the way they did. I didn’t truly understand it until I had kids of my own. Blake and I talked about it one night, that no one would see their kid go to prison. I would do everything I could to keep them out, the same as my parents did for my sister. I never saw her after that day. Dad won’t talk about it, but Mom lets me know in private that she visits her.

Ted is another matter entirely. The police found out that he had blackmailed a few clients who caused him to have a long stay in prison. He was only there a year when he was killed in a prison fight. I didn’t feel bad about it at all when I found out. All the things he did to my family, I think he got what he deserved.

I never imagined that my life would be so fulfilling. I have the best husband and kids, who I love with all my heart. The kids keep Blake and me on our toes. Over the years, seeing my kids get older is hard. I want them to stay my little babies forever. But now they are all in school; even BJ is in first grade. It has freed us up, so now we can sneak away and meet each other during the lunch hour, either to eat or something else.

Our love life is still going strong. But, man, it’s nice to let go and get down and dirty with Blake again. I don’t have to worry about waking the kids. We might receive a call from the front desk about our noise level.

I’m not ashamed to confess that Blake’s tongue can still make me scream with delight. It’s almost like we’re dating again, which is fun.
