140. Klaus
CHAPTER 140
Klaus
The time is coming. We're curled up in the den with Aurora, giving her the support that she needs. I can feel the anxiety through the bond because our other bond mates aren't in here with us. I had suspected that she would want to isolate away from everyone and give birth alone. With most wolves, that is their preferred way of bringing new life into the pack.
Aurora positions herself so that her back is flush with Dimitri's chest, and I am sitting at her feet watching and waiting for the pups. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure what the ratio of pup to cub is, but I guess we're about to find out.
Aurora's face starts to tense as she bears down with the next contraction. Dimitri is assisting her by holding her legs and letting her dig her nails into his forearms. He's wincing and gritting his teeth through every contraction right along with her. It also doesn't help that her nails sink deeper and deeper into his forearms muscles each time.
"Okay, everyone, I see the crown of the first head." I lower my body to see exactly how much further Aurora needs to go. "You're doing great, love, keep going."
She growls deeply, and her eyes turn liquid mercury as her dragon slits lock on me. "If you think you could do a better job, Klaus, let's switch positions. You try to push a watermelon out."
I wince at the description that she gives me of what childbirth feels like to her. I can really understand what she means at this point. Normally, her warm depths are snug and fit my member like a glove. Now, here comes a baby whose head is drastically larger than anything any of us are packing. It's an absolute miracle that females can do this. I will never admit to this, but I believe a thousand percent that females are the stronger gender.
Aurora screams pierce our ears and sends a chill down our spines. You would think somebody was ripping her apart. But then again, if you saw the size of the head she's trying to push out of her hoo-ha, you would believe it. The baby's head is finally free, and I put my hand under its head to support it. "Next big contraction, love, the biggest push that you can give me, and baby number one will be out."
Aurora takes several deep breaths and lightly rubs Dimitri's arms, and bears down again. I'm able to slip my fingers in between the baby's arms and rib cage to assist in sliding it out. Quickly, I use the little suction thingy my mother had given me and clear the mouth and both nostrils. The baby's cries fill the air, and Aurora smiles between pants.
I cut the cord, then pass Aurora the first baby, and as she is placed in her arms, she gives her a good sniff. "Odette, her name is Odette. She is of Dimitri's line." She takes several breaths and allows the baby to latch onto her breast and begin to feed. The big guy, meanwhile, has tears streaming down his cheeks. His large hand comes up and cups the back of the baby's head.
"I have a daughter," he says, his voice starting to crack, full of emotion as he tries to hold back the sobs that threaten to break free. They're tears of joy, and I can't blame him. I would be ecstatic too.
Aurora draws in a deep breath and grips her stomach as the next contraction starts again. "Okay, guys, enough smoochiness. The next one's coming." Aurora goes back to cycling between breathing and pants between pushes. This one seems to be coming faster than the first. She keeps pushing and pushing. Soon enough, the crown of the baby's head can be seen again.
"I see the next head," I say loudly, alerting the rest of the bond mates as to where we are in labor. I hear a cork pop, and Jayce giggle like a little schoolgirl. I guess he got shot by champagne. Aurora's eyes lock with mine, and she gives me a nod saying this is it. The next big contraction she bears down, and baby number two slides out screaming into the world. It's another daughter. I'm over here smiling like a damn fool seeing now that my mate has delivered two daughters back to back. It is a feat unheard of for my species. Like with the first baby, I sever the cord, suction the nose and mouth, and then pass her up to her mother.
Aurora sniffs the crown of the baby's head and then looks at me, smiling. "You have a daughter, Klaus. I would like to name her Kirra. Meaning, the first one from what I remember of the ancient dragonic tongue." Now I'm in the same place as Dimitri is. I'm over here blubbering like a damn fool. Tears rolling down my face and onto my chest. I scream loud enough for everybody to hear me. "I have a daughter!"
A second cork pops, and this time it's Alaric cursing. Apparently, he must have gotten hit. Arnulf is laughing, apologizing up and down for his poor aim. By the time the last baby is born, the rest of our bond mates will be drunk off their asses. It'll just be the three of us tending to the two babies. Aurora unlatches Odette from her breast and passes her off to Papa Bear. She next takes Kirra and latches her on to the opposite breast. Aurora sighs, contently lying back, resting against Dimitri.
There's a bit of a lull between births for the last one. It seems like forever before the contractions start again. Aurora is exhausted, and it is taking everything that she's got to get this last baby out into the world. Dimitri and I lock eyes, and then he brings his forearm forward. "Aurora, bite me and feed. You need the blood to sustain you right now. I'll be fine." She looks hesitantly at the offered forearm then back up to Dimitri.
With a decisive nod, she bites his arm, and I watch her drink from him. As she feeds from him, she regains color in her cheeks, and her breaths aren't as labored. It takes several moments before she's had her fill, and she licks the wounds that she created clean. The next contraction she has, she bears down and starts pushing. This little pup practically slides out since the other two were much larger than it is. I start to laugh because it seems like the baby was riding a slip and slide to get out. This little one is timid, it grips my finger tightly, seeming as if it is afraid to let go.
I cut the cord and suction out its nostrils and mouth. Yet again, a baby girl is born, a third miracle. But this one's not like the other two. She's not as heavily built, nor is she apt to scream once her airways were cleared. In the back of my mind, I wonder if this baby is sickly. I refuse to project that thought to anyone, not wanting to upset Aurora right now. I pass her up to Aurora, and she smiles, looking at the baby.
"Hey Jayce, would you mind poking your head in here?" The little girl has snow-white hair and pale-grey eyes like her mama. The other two both have dark hair.
Jayce pokes his head in and smiles, holding out a pomegranate juice. Aurora gently sits up, lays the new baby in her lap, and then passes me my daughter. I have a sinking suspicion I know what's going on.
"Jayce, get your ass in here," Aurora says firmly as she stares at our family's Omega.
Jayce climbs in, and in the meantime Dimitri makes his way out with his daughter to show her off. Aurora pats the spot next to her, and Jayce sits down, looking between the two of us curiously. "Jayce, I would like you to meet your daughter, Luna. I gave her the name Luna because of her birthmark." That being said, Aurora shows Jayce the single crescent moon on her wrist.
"Unlike my set of twins, your daughter will never hold a title, but like them, they have been touched by the Goddess herself." Aurora passes little Luna off to Jayce.
You would think that Jayce was hit by a Mack truck because of the shocked expression on his face. He keeps looking down between his daughter and Aurora and back again. "She's like me," he says sadly as he looks at his daughter.
"It's not often with the Dire Wolves that a female Omega is born. It's a blessing and a curse." Tears stream down his face as he slowly lifts his eyes to Aurora as he passes his daughter back to her.
"Thank you for this gift, my love. We will have to teach her how to protect herself." Aurora nods slowly as she watches Jayce leave the den.
"I would have thought he would have been happier. I didn't know that I would be able to birth an Omega," Aurora says sadly as she nurses the baby. "She will have the protection of her siblings, thankfully." She sighs softly.
"I will have to take extra care when it comes time for her to choose a mate. I do not want anybody that would take advantage of her Omega status to ever have control of her," Aurora says as she runs her fingers through the baby's snow-white hair. Slowly, I leave the den, leaving Aurora with her last daughter.
Elsa and Helle are in the room now. Jayce is explaining to his mother what's occurred. Dominik is excited for his brother. Jayce, unfortunately, is still sad. Helle is trying to comfort Jayce and explain to him how things are different now. Without his father's rule, there is no enslavement for the female Omegas. I move and get in front of Jayce and kiss his lips. "Love, our mate is saddened by your reaction to seeing your daughter. I don't understand what's going through your head, but Aurora feels like she failed you." Jayce's eyes go wide, and he looks back and forth between myself and the den that Aurora has refused to come out of.
"She never failed me. She gave me the greatest gift ever. You just don't understand what it's like to be an Omega." He sighs, and his shoulders droop down, his mother rubbing his shoulders. "I got lucky with the family I ended up with. Not all Omegas end up with such a glorious fate."
He starts to walk over to the den. "I will be damned if anybody ever mistreats my daughter," Jayce growls, and it's the first time there is any semblance of dominance coming off of him. He ducks inside to spend time with Aurora and his child.
Meanwhile, my grandmother already snatches my child out of my arms and somehow Dominik has Dimitri's child. For the next hour or two, we play pass the baby. Everyone gets to hold everyone else's child—all except for little Luna. Aurora seems fiercely protective of that little white-haired bundle of joy.
Eventually, Aurora emerges, cleaned up and in a different outfit that Jayce had brought into the den with him. Luna is still latched onto Aurora, feeding aggressively. Aurora's eyes are that of her beast as she scans the area for any possible threat. Helle hesitantly approaches Aurora to get a look at her granddaughter. As much as Aurora likes Helle instinctually, she lets out a low growl. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean that. This little one is going to need a lot of protection until she comes into her own or finds a suitable mate."
Helle nods sadly and lightly touches the crown of the baby's head. "I completely understand. I was the same way with Jayce when he was born. I had it easy, though; my mate rejected his Omega son," she says so sadly. "This little one has the full protection of the pack behind her and of the dragons. I would be concerned for those who attempt to get near her more than anything else."
Helle's deduction makes Aurora laugh. Gently, she lays Luna in her grandmother's arms. A light kiss is given to the baby's temple before Aurora backs up and sits in the rocking chair nearby. "I need to go shift in a little bit to make sure I heal up correctly," she says just before she yawns.
"I've ordered food to be brought down to you," Dimitri says. "Make sure you eat before you go out and shift and please take Alaric or one of the dragon guards with you." Aurora's eyes glow that ethereal white. It can mean only one of two things: either she would freeze something or would be summoning a dragon to her.
Several moments later, a knock sounds at the door, and she motions for it to be opened. On the other side of the door is Marco, her Black Dragon. He holds a tray of food, brings it over, and sits it next to Aurora. His eyes flash to that of his dragon, and he looks around the room. I know that look; I've seen it before. It's the look of recognition for a dragon when it's found its mate. The question is, which one of these three little girls is it. Aurora looks back and forth and smiles, having seen it for herself. She motions to Helle, and she brings the baby back over to her.
Aurora stands slowly with Luna in her arms and looks up to Marco. She tilts her head gently to the side, exposing her throat for the briefest of seconds, showing that she means him no harm. She reaches out and puts Luna in Marco's arms. His eyes flash to that of his dragon again, and Aurora's eyes shift to that of her beast as she stares up at him. "She is yours to protect," she says sternly. "Do not let me ever find out that you defiled the sacred covenant in any way, shape, or form." Marco nods his head slowly, and a single tear rolls down his cheek.
"I understand, my Queen. Never in all my years did I think I would ever be blessed with a mate." He slowly lowers his head and kisses Luna's temple. "No offense, my Queen, but I will guard her from a distance. Please assign one of the War Dragons to her personally." He nuzzles Luna's cheek again and smiles.
"I want to do right by her, and to do so would be to give her time to grow into the woman that she's meant to be," he says reverently as he gently places Luna back into Aurora's arms. She smiles and then looks over to Jayce and then offers him his daughter. Without hesitation, Jayce comes running over and takes his daughter and goes and sits down and starts talking to her.
"I need to go shift, Marco, to make sure that I heal. I would wish for you to escort me outside and make sure that I'm fine." Her eyes take on the ethereal glow again, and before they are ready to leave, Dante arrives. Her eyes remain glowing as she stares at Dante, I'm guessing relaying to him everything that's just occurred. Dante's head whips back and forth between Marco and where Luna is, and he smiles. "Your secret is safe with me, my Queen," he says as he bows his head low and then takes a seat by the door.
Aurora and Marco leave quickly to go heal after she finishes eating everything that was on her plate. My grandmother finally gives me back my child, and I sit here snuggling my little Kirra. First one, what a perfect name for this perfect little girl. I couldn't be happier. Here we thought that it was only me and Dimitri that had fathered children. Jayce, his sneaky little self, somehow managed to slip in there and get himself a daughter. I guess next time around, it's just Dominik and Arnulf to start things off. Who knows, we each may get a couple of more children. All I know is I am thankful and grateful for the one that I've been given.
I look down at her little sleepy cherubic face and want to squish those little plump cheeks of hers. She has her mother's perfect cupid's bow as well as her full lips. She has my dark hair, and it looks like Aurora's light eyes. If you ask me, the perfect blend of the two. Dimitri comes and sits next to me, holding Odette. Her hair is a little lighter shade of brown than what Dimitri has, and again she has her mother's light eyes and perfectly shaped lips. I have a feeling that Dimitri and I will be beating the boys off with sticks in the near future.
"I know that look, Klaus," Dimitri says. "You're probably thinking the same thing I am." He smirks and then laughs a little. "No male will ever be good enough for our baby girls." He smiles, and I nod, completely agreeing with him
"You got that right, brother. They'll be nuns. We will lock them in a convent somewhere." I start to laugh, thinking about how bad I was as soon as I realized what my dick was for. I pale at that thought, yeah very much not good. "Hey, Grandma?" Elsa turns and looks at me. "At what age can I put a chastity belt on my daughter?"
Grandma throws a slice of pepperoni at my head; luckily, I catch it. "Never. Didn't work with you; it's not going to work with her." I tilt my head to the side, questioning what Grandma meant because I don't remember when we were wearing a chastity belt. Though, I do remember getting locked up when multiple females were in heat. I shrugged my shoulders, looking down at the little wonders between the two of us. Dimitri is nodding off with his daughter sleeping on his chest. It doesn't sound like such a bad idea right now. I scoot myself down and close my eyes. Thankful doesn't even begin to describe how I feel before I drift off to sleep.
