13. Logan

Artemis’s POV

“Miss me, baby.” He smirked.

“I’m not your baby, Logan! I never was!” I yelled.

“Still as fiesty as ever. I always loved that about her.” He kept his smirk in place.

I took a good look at him. His brown hair was longer and messy. He still had the same freckles. His grayish eyes were sinister.

He had a scar across his neck. It hadn’t healed.

I know that scar was caused by me.

“How are you still alive!? I killed you!”

“I had a little help. It did help that your aim wasn’t as good as it is now.”

“How did you find me?”

“I’ve been looking for you for a while now. Just remember that I’m still your boyfriend and mate.”

“You never were. You lied to me!” I shouted.

“I’ll be back. I’ll find a way to win you back.”

I shot my arrow at him but he dodged it.

“That doesn’t work on me anymore.” He snickered.

I shot another arrow but somehow he caught it.

He blew a kiss to me then vanished in the shadows.

Ew.

“Who was that!?” I heard Blake’s voice behind me. “Why did he call you baby.”

I turned around. It looked like his wolf was fighting him for control.

“Are you stalking me now?” I asked.

“Who was that!?” He repeated.

“Nobody.”

“That was obviously somebody. He called you baby and blew you a kiss.” He growled.

“And I am utterly disgusted by him.”

“You’re mine. I want him to knew that you’re mine. Now who is he!?”

“I don’t want to talk about it.” I brushed past him and walked back home.

I ran into my room and collapsed on my bed.

It’s been a long day.

Flashback

I laughed as Logan accidentally got his foot caught on a rope and is now hanging upside down by a tree.

All his arrows fell out of his quiver.

“Are you going to help me or what?” He asked while smiling.

I walked up to him. “I’m going to go with or what.”

He groaned. “C’mon Artemis-”

“Shh.” I cut him off. “You can’t call me by my first name when we’re hunting rogues.”

“Why not?” He asked.

“Because if any rogues found out that we were the hunters they would come after us.”

“So what do we call each other?”

I light bulb went off in my head. “We need code names.”

“What kind of code names?”

“Well we’re both archers, so we need names of archers.”

“Mine can be Apollo.” He smirked.

“Apollo. That is so lame. You want to be named after Greek mythology?”

“I got one for you too.” He avoided the question.

“Oh really? What is it then?” I asked.

“Robin Hood.” He answered.

“Robing Hood? As in the guy who steals from the rich and gives to the poor?”

“Yep.” He confirmed.

“Why Robin Hood?”

“Get me down from this tree and I’ll tell you.”

I smirked. I untied the rope from his leg and let him fall.

He groaned as he landed on his back.

“Now why would I want to be named after a guy archer in tights?” I asked.

“So you can give a new meaning to his name.” He got up and dusted the dirt off his clothes.

I looked at him weirdly as he continued.

“You can make Robin Hood into a girl and show werewolves that she can be dangerous. That she can be more than some dude in tights. Show werewolves that she can be a killer.”

I smirked.

Robin Hood.

It’s starting to grow on me.

Flashback

That was my first day of hunting.

It was also the day Robin Hood was born.

Without Logan I’m pretty sure rogues would come after me as Artemis.

But he betrayed me and lied to me.

We had a great thing going and he threw it away.

Blake’s POV

Who was that guy!?

I saw when he blew a kiss to her. It made my blood boil.

‘At least she looked disgusted.’ Gavin pointed out.

‘That was the only thing that made me happy about the situation.’

‘I heard her say his name was Logan. Maybe you can find out who he is.’ Gavin hinted strongly.

‘You’re right. I have to go to my office first.’

‘Finally you caught on.’Gavin muttered. ‘Idiot.’

I rolled my eyes at him and made my way to my office.

‘Noah, I need a favor.’ I mind linked him.

‘Sure man. What do you need?’

‘I need you to look up a rogue for me. His name is Logan. He has brown hair grayish eyes, freckles, and he has a scar across his neck.’ I described him.

‘OK I’m on it.’

‘Send the files to my office.’

I entered my office. Midnight was on my desk asleep.

I guess Gina put her in here. She didn’t have her dress on anymore.

Her eyes perked up when I entered but she was still asleep.

I sat down on my chair. Midnight heard me and woke up.

“I don’t suppose you know who Logan is do you?” I asked.

She growled at the sound of his name. I almost flinched.

‘Wimp.’ Gavin snickered.

I blocked him out.

“You know something about Logan don’t you?” I asked

She growled again but nodded her canine head.

I was about to say something but Noah came in with a file in his hand.

“Here’s the file.” He handed it to me.

“Thanks Noah you can leave now.”

He left as I started looking through the file.

Full Name: Logan Jake.

Age: 20

Rank: Rogue

Status: Deceased

‘How is he dead if we saw him breathing?’ Gavin asked.

‘I don’t know. But it looked like he had a history with Artemis. She’s keeping secrets from us.’

‘Cut her some slack. There’s plenty of stuff we haven’t told her.’ He defended.

‘I know but I’m not ready to tell her about that yet.’

‘She might not be ready to talk about Logan yet either.’

‘Why wouldn’t she want to talk about it?’

‘Didn’t you see her. It looked like she was about to cry. She never cries.’

‘You’re right.’

‘I’m always right.’ He smirked.

I blocked him out. Cocky much.

If Midnight growled at the mention of his name then she knows something about him.

I have to got talk to Artemis.

I picked up Midnight and made my way out of my office. I was stopped by Tiffiny.

“Where are you going Blake? You just got back.” She asked.

“Not now Tiffiny.”

“Who’s mutt is that?” She pointed to Midnight.

Midnight growled at her and bit her finger.

“Ow. Bitch.” She muttered.

“This is Artemis’s dog. Midnight is not a mutt.” I defended.

“That explains a lot. She taught her dog to be a bitch just like her.” She whispered to herself.

It was my turn to growl. “Watch your mouth.”

Her eyes turned red then gray then back to blue. She walked away without saying anything.

She never acted like this before. She’s been really moody ever since Artemis got here. I’ve never seen her eyes red before.

‘Maybe she’s jealous.’ Gavin thought.

‘Why would she be jealous?’ I asked.

He blocked me out. I continued to make my way to Artemis’s house.
