13. Kabir

Chapter 13

Kabir

now

I scrubbed every inch of her skin, then gave her hair a thorough washing.

Thankfully, the bathroom is well appointed, and I found nearly everything needed with minimal effort. I've wrapped her in a robe, and we're sitting on the plush shag rug in front of the vanity.

"Eat, love," I encourage, nodding to the package of Tunnock's tea cakes I procured from my travel case. I didn't have time to pack properly, but even in my haste, I made sure to snag a few packs of her favorite snack on the way to the airport.

"I've already had four, Spence." Her tone is lighter than it's been since I arrived, and I can practically see her holding back an eye roll. "But thank you for bringing these," she adds, softer. "I love them."

Sitting behind her, brushing through her hair, I hum in acknowledgment.

More than anything, I want to ask her a thousand questions and unload all the thoughts I've been stewing over for the last twenty-four hours .

More like the last two and a half years.

I breathe in a cleansing breath and let it out slowly. My questions will keep. I'm not going anywhere anytime soon, at least not without her.

Once her hair is free of tangles and she's finished all six teacakes in the package, I rise to my feet and offer her my hand.

"Do you have any suppositories?"

She slips her palm against mine and lets me pull her up. Standing face to face with me, she regards me with a dreamy, far-away, fully sated smile that lights up my insides and makes me feel like the king of her world.

"Second drawer on the right."

I make quick work of locating what I need and hold up two to confirm we're on the same page.

She nods, then backs up against the vanity and pulls open the knot of her robe.

I drop to my knees before her and smooth my palms down her sides, over her ribs, and along the soft, delicate skin of her stomach.

I kiss her from navel to pubic bone, taking my time and savoring the feel of her skin beneath my lips. Gods, I've missed this woman.

It takes all my strength to fight the urge to bury my face in her throbbing cunt.

Instead, I tear open the foil packages, then carefully place one hand on her inner thigh to steady her.

When I brush two fingers through her folds, she hisses quietly.

I kiss the strip of hair on her pubic bone once more to soothe her, then I insert the first suppository—a blend of CBD and cocoa butter specifically designed for aftercare—then gingerly graze the tip of the other against her puckered hole.

"Breathe, love," I remind her.

On her exhale, I push in, placing the bullet-shaped suppository knuckle-deep in her ass.

"All done." I kiss her stomach again, then each of her hips for good measure. When I rise to my feet, I brush my lips against her forehead and wash my hands, then lead her back to the bedroom .

"I plan to sleep in here with you," I inform her as I pull back the sheets on the side closest to the phone charger and sparkly pink e-reader on the nightstand.

"I figured," she says. "I may not be able to sleep, though."

"Where are you in your cycle?"

"Day twenty-two," she tells me softly.

"So I shan't worry if you're up and out of bed in the middle of the night?"

Eyes closed and with a small smile on her face, she nods.

"Water?" I ask.

She points to a half-full bottle on the vanity across the way. I fetch it, then fill it with fresh, cold water from the bathroom sink.

Upon delivery, I ask, "Where are your meds?"

"They're inside my nightstand drawer, but I take them in the morning these days."

I finger the handle, but she catches my wrist before I can pull it open.

"I've got it, Spence. I have to take the mini pill at the same time every morning. Then I turn the bottle upside down on my SSRI to confirm that I've taken them. I haven't missed a dose in months," she assures me.

Concern nags at the back of my mind, but I trust her, and I know better than to challenge her when she tells me she's okay.

With a steadying breath, I release my grip on the drawer handle. I bend low and kiss her forehead once more before pulling the covers to her chin.

"Try to rest, love. You're safe, and I'm here. Whatever ails you will keep until tomorrow."

The first soft snore rises from her chest before I've even turned off the lights and climbed into the bed.
