Epilogue
"So, Nova, your lyrics are obviously very…provocative." She giggles lightly, and I smile back innocently. "I think we're all hoping there is some filthy, sordid story behind them. I mean, the thing everyone wants to know is this—where does your inspiration come from? The song One Weekend with The Devils—did that really happen?"
I run my tongue over my lips, slowly biting my lower one before leaning forward. "You want to know a secret?" I ask her before winking at the camera. "Okay, here it is." I curl my finger at the camera as I know he's zooming in as I speak.
"My music is for all the girls that seek excitement, crave a little bit of bad in their lives. Go find your devils, go find your depravity and danger. I know I did." I wink to the camera and then someone calls time.
I look over at Millie before she smiles, shaking my hand and thanking me for the time. I smile politely in response before my phone starts buzzing. It's a FaceTime call from a number I don't recognize. I answer cautiously, wondering who it is. The phone pings as a video pops up of one of my demons playing with his tongue piercing.
"Hey, Goldilocks."
I smile, shaking my head. "How did you get my number?" I ask, surprised.
Zane pulls the phone away from his as Levi tells him off. "Ah, see, that's for your devils to know and you to dot dot dot." I laugh as he uses my own words against me from when they asked me about my kinks.
"Give me the phone," Devin says, pulling the phone to face him.
"I'm proud of you, Nova, we just watched your clip online live. Had to keep an eye on whether you're breaking into anyone else's houses."
I roll my eyes. "I promise I'm definitely not being good."
I hear a massive cheer, and Zane shouts out, "Damn, she's an animal." I realize they're at the club they talked about
"I gotta go, Nova. We got a new fighter in, and she's a wildcat. I think we might need to get her out before she kills someone. Hey, look us up when you're in Asheville. I can see you're playing at a club local to us in a couple of months. You have Levi's number now; don't be a stranger."
"Definitely—go tame that wildcat," I say, laughing with no jealousy in me at all, knowing I had these boys for a weekend, and that was enough for me. We don't fit into each other's worlds, but I am so thankful for them showing me who I truly am.
Devin gives me a wink before hanging up. I smile, walking back to the dressing room and packing up my things as I toy with the idea of looking them all up in the new year. I touch the charm that I made on my bracelet. It's a clear glass ball that has a single thread of tinsel in it. A piece from the one that Levi gave me.
Maybe I could exist in their world for one more night…
