Chapter Seven

Grant watched as the horse hugged Sara. It was great to see them together because there seemed to be something magical between them, and he'd never seen anything like it before.

Sara walked over and grinned up at him. "Thank you. She really is special, isn't she?"

He reached out and smoothed the hair from her face. "Yeah, she is. But I also think you're special, too."

He smiled when a blush covered her face. "How can you be close to fifty years old and still blush?"

She scowled and put her hands on her hips. "For one thing, you don't say that to a woman."

He crossed his arms over his chest. "Say what?"

"How old I am. It's depressing when I think about it."

Grant shook his head. "You're not old, Sweetheart."

"If I think about the number, it makes me feel that way."

He abruptly pulled her into his arms and wrapped them around her. He set his chin on top of her head and grinned. "You're not old, but you are short."

His grin widened when she gasped and then used her little fist to hit his side. He grunted and pretended to be hurt. She snorted.

His body hardened when her arms crept around his waist, and she laid her head on his chest. He had no idea how long they stood there, but he could have stayed there for hours.

"Where would you like to eat, Sweetheart?"

"How about Mexican?" she replied.

"That sounds good. Do you have a favorite restaurant?"

She shook her head. "Anything besides Taco Bell."

He laughed. Taco Bell was a Mexican fast-food restaurant that he always thought of as fake Mexican food.

"Don't worry about that. I've never been a fan of them," he told her.

He released her enough to take her hand. "Let's go."

She nodded and let him lead her out of the stable and into his truck. He listened as she talked about the dog.

"What do you think of the name Thor?" she asked.

He thought about it for a moment. "I like it. It fits him."

"I thought so, too."

He parked and then came around to get her. He wrapped an arm around her waist and led her into the restaurant.

"I like this place," she said.

"Good. It's one of my favorites."

They were seated at a small booth and handed menus.

They ordered drinks before concentrating on which meal to pick. He watched her brows pinch together as she continued to read.

"You can't decide which one you want?" he asked.

She relaxed and smiled. "They all look so good."

"How about I order two different ones, and we'll share?" he suggested.

Her face brightened. "That would be great."

For the next two hours, they talked and ate, and he did not feel uncomfortable at all. She was very easy to talk to and be with.

Grant drove them back to her house and led her to the door. He took the keys from her and unlocked the door before handing them back.

She turned to him. "Would you like to come in for coffee?"

He could tell how nervous she was. "Not tonight. But I would like a kiss if that's okay?"

She walked over to her counter and set her purse and keys down before turning back to him. "I'd like that."

He cupped her face in his palms and studied her for a moment before he lowered his head. The moment their lips touched, it felt like a bolt of lightning seared through his body, taking his breath.

One of his arms went around her waist, and the other cupped the back of her head to hold her steady. He turned his head enough to open her mouth so he could delve inside. He knew it was going to get out of hand, but he couldn't get himself to release her yet. He had no idea how she ended up on the counter with him between her legs as he ravished her mouth.

Her arms tightened around him as she tried to get closer to him, but they were as close as they could be without him being inside of her. Her moan was what finally got through the web of desire. He stood straight and pulled her arms from around his shoulders.

"Open your eyes, Sweetheart."

Her eyes blinked a few times before she stared up at him.

He would have smiled if his body hadn't felt so rigid and fiery. "We have to stop, Sweetheart. That one kiss got out of control quickly. I knew we'd be good together. I just didn't know we'd be this exceptional."

She took a few breaths and relaxed. When he thought she was ready, he lifted her and set her on her feet. He didn't let go of her until he was certain she was steady.

"I better go, Sweetheart."

She smoothed her shirt down and nodded. "Okay."

He turned and took one more look at her before he left.

On his ride home, he couldn't stop gritting his teeth. His body still felt like it was on fire, and his cock ached more than it ever had. He couldn't believe he'd let things get so out of control. He was an experienced Dom, for God's sake, and he'd almost lost control and come in his boxers. He'd never done that, even as a teenager.

Grant knew he wouldn't truly feel better until she was under him, and he was as deep inside of her as he could go. He just prayed it would be soon.
