Reaper

It was our wedding day. The ladies chased me out of the house and took over caring for Sarra. She bought her dress yesterday and wouldn't let me see it. I was worried about leaving her here alone since she wasn't used to having a lot of people around.

"Would you stop worrying? She's fine. You act like you're worried she will skip out of town. Oh, wait! You are afraid she'll run off. You know she loves you. She's not going anywhere. Now help put some chairs out. We have to give the elderly a place to sit," Spartan said.

"I know you're right."

"Again," Spartan chuckled.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"I'm right again. If my brothers would listen to me the first time, it would save us a lot of problems."

I laughed just as Rebel, who stood behind me, laughed. "Spartan thinks he could be a big help to Sarra with her books."

I chuckled as I walked away to grab more chairs. I loved my family and knew I would miss them when we moved away. If Sarra wanted to live in New Orleans, we would live there. But there were so many bad memories there for her.

"Hey, so all of these people are family members?" Beau asked, grabbing two chairs.

"A lot of them are family members. Most are Petersons, but they also claim us as family. It has something to do with the elders saying our ancestors were their ancestors, even though there is no proof."

"So the answer is yes?"

"Yes, the answer is yes."

"Are you nervous? You seem a little rattled."

"Have you seen Sarra?"

"Yes, she's fine. Don't worry about Sarra. She's excited about this wedding. She looks beautiful."

"Okay, I won't worry." I heard a loud noise and turned my head as Sarra ran toward me. She looked like she was crying.

"Sweetheart, what's wrong?" She opened her sweater, and I saw baby vomit on her dress.

"This is a bad sign; you have now seen my beautiful dress. I don't think we should get married; it would be bad luck."

"This isn't bad luck," Beau said.

"It's not?" Sarra asked.

"No, this is good luck. It means Glory will be healthy and not full of gas. Put on a different dress, and let's get this wedding started," Beau said.

I knew she wouldn't believe his nonsense, and this is why I've been so nervous. "Baby," I said, wanting to beg her to marry me.

"I don't have time to talk right now," she said as she kissed me. "I have to find another dress."

I turned to look at Beau. He smiled and shrugged his shoulders. "For some reason, Sarra thinks I have knowledge of things. I don't know why she thinks that, but she does."

"Thank God you were standing next to me with all that knowledge. Let's get this done before something else pops up."

Everything was set up, and the music started. I turned as Rebel began singing. I watched Sarra walk toward me with Glory sleeping in my arms. I had to force my eyes to stop tearing up; all I wanted to do was hurry this up. Shane walked her down the aisle with a smirk on his face. He knew I was close to crying like a baby.

When she reached my side, she kissed Glory on the cheek, and then she kissed me. I wrapped my arm around her and my baby and pulled her close to deepen the kiss.

"Okay, let's get these two married before they embarrass all of us," Matthew said, then chuckled.

We were husband and wife. Now, she was indeed mine.

"Now, you are all mine," Sarra whispered in my ear.

"Darlin, I was thinking the same thing. I always knew you belonged to me, and now we are married."

"Where are the two of you going for a honeymoon?" Benni asked, kissing us.

"We haven't thought about that just yet. We are so happy being married, and we've had way too much excitement. I'm ready to take a break before going anywhere right now," Sarra said. "What about you, Reaper? Did you want to go somewhere?"

"I'm happy to take a break too. We'll take a honeymoon in a couple of weeks. We'll go to Hawaii; you are going to love Hawaii."

"I can't wait to go there with you," she said, looking around. "The music is great. I didn't know Rebel could sing."

"He doesn't usually sing, only at family weddings." I looked around, and everyone was having a great time. People were dancing, eating, and hanging out in groups talking. I knew everything would close up at ten. It was always like that when we had a celebration in our little town. The town square shuts down at ten.
