17. Chapter 17
Chapter seventeen
Monty
M onty looked up from his computer screen when his office door opened and Li sauntered in wearing a three-piece suit similar to his own. "Whatever you're doing, drop it. We have a field trip."
Monty sighed, but put his computer on lockdown and then rose. "Where to?"
Li smiled. "The docks."
"Is there a problem with the shipment?" Monty asked as he rounded his desk.
"A little one," Li said.
"Then why can't you handle it?"
"Because I want you to handle it," Li said.
Monty didn't say anything else as he followed Li out of his office and onto the elevator.
"So, how are you and my brother getting along?" Li asked as both men watched the numbers light up with each floor they descended.
"Better than I had expected, to be honest. Though he is a brat, he's becoming an obedient one," Monty said.
Li barked out a laugh and looked at Monty. "You really have no fear, do you?"
Monty turned to him. "Should I have been afraid to tell the truth?"
Li shrugged and smirked. "Rather bold of you to tell me just how ‘obedient' my brother is being when he begs for your cock."
Monty chuckled softly. "You added the rest of that."
"It's not like I don't understand the dynamics of your relationship." Li turned back toward the doors as they opened. "Anyway, I'm glad to hear that you're both settling in."
"I'm sure your brother keeps you abreast," Monty said.
Li nodded. "He's on cloud nine."
Monty gave a slight smile at that.
The doors opened and Li led the way to his car where his sister and bodyguard, Xiù, was standing by. The driver held the door open for everyone.
"He's coming with us?" Xiù asked, a slight frown on her pretty face.
Li nodded. "He needs to be introduced to the family business. Let's go," he said, then climbed inside the car.
Xiù tossed Monty an unapproving look before climbing inside the limo next to her brother. Monty was last to enter and take his seat opposite Li. The driver closed the door, then climbed in behind the wheel .
"So, what kind of problem do we have at the docks that I need to be privy to," Monty asked as he adjusted his suit.
"You'll see once we get there. Until then, tell me more about you," Li asked.
"What do you want to know?"
"Have you ever killed anyone?" Li asked.
Monty shook his head. "No."
"Have you ever been in a fight?"
Monty snorted and looked out the window before returning his gaze to Li. "Yes. If you want to know if I can defend myself, yes. I've taken MMA classes for the past ten years. I also speak seven different languages, including Japanese and Mandarin."
"Apart from English, what are the other four?" Li asked.
"Spanish, French, Italian, and Russian," Monty said.
Li whistled. "Impressive." He smiled.
Xiù only looked at Monty, but her frown had disappeared. Now, her expression was unreadable.
"I'm not going to ask you how you feel about my brother. I will say that I hope you aren't holding back thinking that's a way out of your relationship," Li said.
"Holding back?" Monty asked with a blond eyebrow raised.
Li nodded. "Ren deserves all of you, because he's giving you all of him."
"Ahh," Monty said and sighed. "Then put your mind at ease, because I never hold back."
"Well, that's something I want to see when we get to the docks," Xiù said and it was the first time she had spoken since they had gotten in the car.
Monty wanted to ask about the docks and what would be expected of him, but he decided not to. He knew they wouldn't tell him. For some reason, it would seem the twins wanted the element of surprise in play. Instead, he turned the tables on the conversation.
"What about you? Are you seeing anyone?" he asked Li.
Li shook his head. "No, and I'd say relationships aren't for me. At least, not right now. Maybe when I'm thirty-five, I'll be ready to settle down."
"What about you?" Monty asked Xiù.
"Not interested in them right now," she replied with a deadpan tone.
Monty wasn't sure about who the twins really were, but he knew they weren't to be taken lightly. They were his family now, but he also knew that if he disappointed them or betrayed them, they'd just as easily put a bullet in his head. He was never to let his guard down.
They arrived at a private airport and boarded a compact light jet for their short flight to a Miami port owned by his company. Well, it used to be his company, currently owned by the Mujins at this point. He just remained the face of it. While flying, he decided to take a little nap, as he found the travel to be pleasant.
A gentle nudging woke Monty up and he opened his eyes to see Li standing over him. "We're here. Let's go."
Monty stretched and followed Li to another waiting vehicle. Twenty minutes later, they arrived at Port of Miami. Huge cargo ships with tons of containers were docked there and their car parked near a ship named "The Lulu". Li led the way onto the ship, all the way to a room that was guarded by men with guns. One of the men nodded and opened the door.
Monty followed Li and Xiù inside the dimly lit room and immediately saw a man bound to a chair, his mouth taped up. Both legs were taped to the chair and his hands were behind his back. The look of pure terror on his face told Monty everything he needed to know about what was going to happen. He did wonder... was he expected to kill this man?
Li walked toward the man and grabbed the man's sweaty hair, yanking his head back, causing the man to growl in pain. "Did you really think you were going to get away with stealing from us?" he asked in Mandarin. The man tried to shake his head, but Li yanked his head around by his hair, making the man yelp in pain. "Don't lie!"
The man's nostrils flared as his chest heaved. He stared into Li's eyes, pleading with his. It was at that point, Li released his hair and removed the tape from the man's mouth. The man sighed and licked his lips.
"Please, Mr. Mujin. I swear, it wasn't me," the man replied, also in Mandarin.
"Ahh, but it was you. Do you think we go around just slinging accusations without proof?" Li glared at him. "You insult me trying to play us for fools."
"No, no, no... it wasn't my idea," the man corrected.
"Oh, so it was you who stole a million dollars' worth of our product, but it wasn't your idea, is that what you're saying?" Li asked and slipped his hands into his pockets.
The man looked off to the side as he realized his faux pas, and then his terrified gaze returned to Li. "I... I... it wasn't me," the man stammered.
Li cocked an eyebrow. "Oh? Then who was it?"
"I don't know. I don't know anything about it," the man said, and even Monty could see that he was lying... foolishly so.
Li sighed and turned, walking back toward where Monty and his sister stood. "Do you believe him?" he asked Monty.
Monty looked from Li back to the man and shook his head. "He's lying. "
Li nodded. "Yes, he is. Now, what I want to know is what are you going to do about it?"
Monty's blue eyes settled on Li. "This is your business."
"No. It's also yours. You're Ren's husband and CEO of our company. You're a member of the Jade Dragon Triad and every time you nut in my brother, your roots grow deeper," Li said.
Monty snorted. "You're foul."
"I'm direct," Li corrected.
"And you're... what would they call it in your homeland, England?" Xiù tilted her head. "Ah, yes, a ‘cheeky bastard'."
Monty tossed her an annoyed look, but returned his focus to Li. "What are you asking me to do?"
"I'm asking you what do you want to do? What are you willing to do to someone who stole from us and is lying about it?" Li kept his gaze steady on Monty, reading the man for any signs that would be a cause for concern.
Monty smirked and looked at the man again. "You want me to kill him?"
Li lifted his chin, his expression a mixture of humor and surprise. "Not necessarily," he said. "However, I would love to see you do it."
"Not how I saw my day going. If it's all the same to you, I'd rather not," Monty said.
"And what if that's what I want now?" Li asked, his chin lowering along with his tone.
"Will you kill me if I don't?" Monty asked.
"We need to know that we can trust you," was all Li said.
Monty swallowed as he thought about the words that weren't said. This was his test to see if he'd be able to live in peace or be under the constant scrutiny of the triad. Would they kill him if they didn't think he was a good fit? He did not doubt that Li or his sister wouldn't have any problem making his death look like an accident. Ren would grieve, but he would move on and he would be dead. That was something Monty wasn't ever going to let happen. The scum before him wasn't worth his own life.
He didn't say anything and instead, reached behind his back and pulled out his Kimber 1911 pistol with the custom design and pulled back the slide.
"Woah," Li said, a huge smile on his face. "I had no idea you were packing."
Monty looked at him. "It's Florida, who isn't? And I'd be a fool not to be armed after marrying into your family."
Li took a good look at the gun and whistled. "She's a beauty. The Texas Lonestar Edition Scheels Exclusive one. Must have cost you a pretty penny."
"Do you want me to kill him?" Monty asked, ignoring the question about his gun, because that wasn't important to him right then.
Li laughed and shook his head. "No, but I did want to see if you could. Now, I know that you can. What I want you to do is beat the shit out of him. Torture him until he talks."
Monty slipped his gun back into the holster and removed his suit jacket. He handed it to Li, who took it. "And if he doesn't talk?"
"One step at a time," Li said.
Monty turned from Li and began making his way over to the man who was trembling in the chair. As he did, he rolled up the sleeves of his shirt and removed the two rings he wore from his fingers, slipping them into his pocket. Standing in front of the man, he looked down at him.
"Spare yourself this pain and just tell us what we want to know," he said in Mandarin.
"I didn't take your drugs," the man replied .
Monty sighed. If the man was going to make more trouble for himself, that was his choice. No way would he let the fool be his end or ruin what progress he'd made since getting married. He knew the moment the vows were finished that this day would come. Also, if he wanted full control of his company again, even if it were used as a criminal enterprise, he would have to prove himself. Even his best friend Richie was in the same boat. He'd have to prove himself to the Lords. The thought of Richie sent an ache to Monty's heart because at the moment, they were on opposite sides and he hoped they'd never have to come to blows. He closed his eyes to focus on the task at hand, and opened them, giving the man before him all of his attention.
"You brought this on yourself," Monty said, then swung, his fist connecting with the man's jaw, causing the man to grunt from the pain. He followed it up with another right hook, then another, then a left hook, then another. With every punch he gave the man, he began to feel something he only felt when dominating his sub. A sense of exhilaration that went straight to his cock. The power he had over this man was absolute and it was on another level from anything he'd ever experienced. Not even during his sparring matches at the gym had he felt this level of elation.
He stopped beating the man and grabbed his hair, wrenching his head back so his bloodied face was all he could see. The man was crying, snot and drool flowing from his nose and mouth as he struggled to breathe. "You can make this stop. Tell us the truth," Monty said, and his voice was unrecognizable even to himself. Thick with lust and something else he couldn't quite put his finger on, but he felt it. And he didn't have the word for what it was.
"P...please... stop.... please," the man pleaded.
Monty's chest heaved, and his eyes were glazed over as he looked down at the man. His pristine suit was splattered with the man's blood, completely ruined, and he didn't care. His cock pulsated between his legs and he felt like he was floating, his body tingling in the best way. Watching the man beg gave him a sense of power akin to seeing his sub beg for his cock.
It was at that moment, that it hit him and he released the man's hair and took several steps back, his mouth agape as he stared at the man he'd beaten into a bloody pulp. "Fuck!" he gasped. He jerked when he felt a hand on his shoulder, and Li stepped in front of him.
"I knew you had that in you," Li said. "I can see why Ren was so drawn to you."
Monty frowned and shook his head. "What?" he asked in his confusion.
"You're still coming down from that high, I see," Li said, then chuckled softly. "You're a badass, Montgomery. My father will be pleased to hear about what you did today. If this got you feeling this amazing, imagine just how good you'll feel when you finally make your first kill."
Monty was staring at Li, his brain trying to catch up to comprehend the words being spoken to him. Control and power... that was what he thrived on, he understood that much about himself. That was why he was the man he was, the type of Dom he was, but never had he thought he'd feel that when beating someone. Whenever he spanked a sub, he got but a taste of what he'd just experienced. To have someone at his mercy, begging for his mercy, was domination in its own stratosphere.
Was this who he really was? A person who could do this kind of thing to someone else... a stranger, and get off on it?
Li slid his hand down the length of Monty's torso to his groin and grabbed his erection. "You'll probably cum when you kill. "
The sensation shocked him out of his stasis and he was able to focus on Li. The man's face was so close to his own. "You're awfully comfortable touching what doesn't belong to you," Monty said.
Li smiled. "You're right." He released Monty's crotch, but gave it several pats. "Make sure you give this load to my brother with love." He winked, then turned toward the man gasping weakly and walked over to him. "Here, clean yourself up." He handed Monty his handkerchief.
Monty hadn't been able to move just yet, but more of his capabilities were returning to him as the seconds ticked by. He watched as Li interrogated the man again. While he watched, he did wipe the man's blood from his hands and face. He looked down at his suit and saw the splashes of blood staining the white shirt and black vest. His pants also had blood on them. He'd burn it later. He returned his attention to Li.
"If you don't tell me what I want to know, I'll make sure to kill your mom in front of you. Is that what you want?" Li threatened.
The man's one good eye widened and he shook his head. "No, no, please... I'll tell you," he said with a bit of a struggle.
"I'm listening." Li waited.
The man confessed that it was him and four other men who worked for them who'd stolen a case of the drugs thinking the triad wouldn't notice. He also told them their names and locations, then begged for Li to leave his mother alone.
"If what you told me pans out, mom's safe. If not..." He didn't say anything else to the man, letting his earlier threat speak for him. He turned to his sister. "Get some men on it."
Li walked toward the exit and motioned for Monty to follow him and he did. They climbed into the car and headed to one of their properties where they could wait for word on their targets. In the meantime, a change of clothes was provided for Monty via courier from one of the most expensive men's fashion boutiques in Miami.
Next, lunch was delivered and while Monty ate, he couldn't get the image of the man he'd beaten out of his mind. But what disturbed him most of all was that he didn't feel guilty. As far as he was concerned, the man had asked for it. Yes... he asked for it and Monty gave it to him. What he was feeling at the moment was a strange sense of satisfaction.
Was this who he was? And more importantly, did he want to kill the next man he tortured just to see how it would feel? Would Ren still like him if he knew his soul was this dark?
Li laughed and that caught Monty's attention.
"You're sitting there with your thoughts giving you doubts, aren't you?" Li asked, then sucked up more of his noodles.
Monty exhaled and cut some more of his steak. "You say that as if you know me."
"I do. I've been watching you, Monty. Like I said, the guards report back to me everything and I make my determinations based on the information I receive. That's why I knew you'd get off on doing what you did," Li said.
"Are you pleased with yourself?" Monty asked.
"I'm pleased with you." Li gave him another smirk, then waved his hand dismissively. "And don't worry about Ren. You could kill a man in front of him while he sucked you off. He's that into you. Besides, he grew up in this life, any man father would allow him to marry would have to be someone who can hold their own."
The very image of him killing someone while having his sub suck him off made Monty's dick stir and he had to close his eyes to banish the thought. Why did that excite him? Why did he want to put it to the test? What would Richie think of him now ?
"Don't worry, you won't have to kill anyone today... unless you wanted to. I've seen enough to know you're good enough for my brother and this family," Li said, then continued to eat his lunch.
But would he still be good enough for Richie? Monty wondered. Right now, all he wanted to do was talk to his best friend, but he didn't want to for fear that he would push Richie away.
Damn it to hell.
