5. Travis
“I love you.”
It was the last words she says to me, it’s the only thing I can remember about her.
Three words.
The last memory I have of her. I was only five when she left, but I still remember her telling me she loved me.
“I love you, mom.”
Waking up and stretching my arm across the bed I’m surprised to find it empty, and cool to the touch. I open my eyes to see light peeking through the blinds, but Bea isn’t anywhere in the room.
When the hell did she leave?
I turn to get my phone off the bedside table to check the time, eight in the morning. Why is she up and out of bed this early? I know her schedule and she doesn’t have class for another two hours. Yes, I’m that fucking crazy to have a copy of her classes so I know if we’re on campus at the same time, and most of the time we are. And after last night, there is no way I’m letting her go.
They say a crazy fuck is good, she’s just crazy in a different way, a crazy I don’t mind one bit. Bea knows exactly what she wants in bed, and I can’t wait to play with her more.
Getting out of bed, I put on my jeans, and grab my t-shirt as I walk into the kitchen and see her roommate sitting at the table staring at me so I slip on my T-shirt, and grab a bottle of water with Bea’s name on it.
“It’s the walk of shame for you, I bet that doesn’t happen often.” She goes back to eating her cereal, but glances over at me with a smile.
“It’s only a walk of shame if it doesn’t happen again, and I plan on it happening a lot more. What time did she leave,” I ask, walking to the couch to put my sneakers on.
“Don’t know, she’s always out before I get up. Don’t think I’ve seen her once in the morning. But she leaves crazy early.” Her roommate puts her elbow on the counter, with her chin resting on her hand. “I’d be careful, she’s a closed book. You know what they say about girls like that, they’re crazy.”
I can’t help but burst out in a fit of laughter because I was thinking the same thing. Standing up I grab my hoodie.
“Yeah, they’re also amazing in bed. I’ll see you again soon.” I give her a wink and leave. I need to get home to take a shower and change before class begins. I won’t have time later with class and hockey practice today, which I can’t wait for, because Coach decided to start the season late this year.
Taking my phone out, I stop and realize I don’t have PR’s number.
Why in the hell do I not have her number yet?
Mission for the day: get Bea’s number.
The drive back home is quick, but I don’t get out of my car straight away. I see my dad’s car in the drive. And not just my dad’s car, but Blake’s dads car too.
This can’t be good.
Walking into the house, and I can already hear the arguing. Putting my keys into my pocket I walk into the sitting area where all the voices are coming from.
“About time you got here,” my dad snaps. I ignore him walking over to the fridge to get some more water in me then turn to face the guys.
“Should have called, I would have maybe got here sooner.” Turning to face my dad, I see only Blake’s dad is here with him.
“Seems like one is missing?” Logan hasn’t spoken to his dad since they had words, so I’m not surprised we haven’t heard of him not being around.
They think we owe them our lives just for being alive.
My thoughts are: I didn’t choose to be born, you chose to have kids, so you can fuck off.
My mom might not be here anymore, but the whole town knew my dad was sleeping with everyone behind her back, all three of them were fucking someone behind our moms backs. My dad is fucking a different bimbo most nights. The only reason I still see his face is because I promised my granddad I would fight for mom, to find out what really happened to her, because I don’t believe dads fucked up story. Never have, and never will.
I don’t care what anyone says, us being fucked up is his fault, and I will never forgive him for them.
“I bet the girl’s a good fuck.” My dad just has to be a fucking asshole, but I keep my face blank to show him he doesn’t effect me, even though I want to jump over the counter and punch him in the face.
“I suppose I can let you be late, hope you got her on her?—”
“Why are you here,” I ask him before he can finish the sentence, because if he did I would end up punching him.
He locks eyes with me, and I don’t look away from him. I’m not scared of him, or the power that he holds. Not anymore and he needs to learn that. He needs to understand I’m not a kid anymore, we broke his friends, and we’ll break him too.
“This weekend you are serving drinks, so be on time, and cancel any plans you have.” Blake’s dad speaks to break the silence of me and dad just staring at each other.
“You might not want to miss it, I’m sure there will be something there for you.” My dad smirks at me.
What the hell is that supposed to mean?
We still don’t know the theme of the charity event. They seem to be keeping that under wraps.
We’ve asked a few times but they aren’t telling us anything. Suppose we will find out this weekend, like everyone else.
“Is there anything else,” Blake asks, you can hear the disrespect in his tone.
“You might want to remember some respect, and how you got all this, beca?—”
“We got all this without your help.” I cut Blake’s dad off, and he snaps his head to face me.
The three of us have money, but not a cent came from our dads. I got mine from my grandfather, most from my mom’s dad, and some from my dads, and then my mom left me some.
The two men standing in front of us have done nothing for us.
“If there is nothing else, I have class.” I turn and walk away from them, leaving the kitchen and moving toward the sitting room, with Blake and Logan following me. I wait until we are far enough away from them before I speak, but just as I thought about talking, I hear the front door slam shut.
“What do you think he meant by, there will be something there for me,” I ask the guys, because we all know I hate the charity event.
“How the fuck should we know, the three of them are losing it.” Logan sits on the couch, and I join him.
“So where have you been all night?” He jokes, making me smile, because it was one hell of a night.
“Being one happy man,” I say. Normally I wouldn’t have an issue telling Blake and Travis all about my night. But last night was different.
“And?”
“And nothing, unlike you telling us everything about your sex life, I like to keep?—”
“Since when?” Blake jokes.
“Since she’s different from any woman I’ve ever been with, I’d like to keep that between us.” I don’t care if she likes to use toys, because never in my life did I think it would be that hot.
I’ve never had sex with toys before, but all I can say about that is: I’ve been missing out. So I’ll be doing some research on sex with toys, to make sure I am giving her the best sex she’s ever had.
“I’m going to guess she is fucking wild in bed.” Logan says as he turns to me, I say nothing, because wild is only one of the words I’d use for my new sex life.
Parking the car, we wak across the parking lot to the food court. Didn’t have time to stop off for breakfast, with the lovely visit from my dead-beat dad. August made some muffins, but I need real food. All my energy was taken last night, and fuck, a muffin was not going to help me.
We all head over to Quinn, who is talking to a girl, but I can’t remember her name. She was with Bea the other day, and I’m sure she went to our high school.
In high school, the three of us didn’t really talk to other students, it was our world and we ruled it, there was no need to talk to others.
Meadow and August both sit at the table, chatting about some shit I don’t care about. I look around for Bea, but I don’t see her.
“Looking for someone?” Quinn jokes.
Normally I would tell him to fuck off. But I have a gut feeling him and Bea are very close, so I piss him off, I piss her off.
“No.” I smile, which makes him laugh. Shaking his head at me he turns and starts talking to the girl again.
“Do you have her number?” I ask him.
They both look toward me with huge smiles on their faces.
“If she hasn’t given you her number, then we’re not giving it to you either. Why don’t you ask her,” Quinn asks, looking down at his phone.
“Well, you can ask her now, she’s on her way.” He looks over my shoulder and his whole body tenses up. I turn around to see what has him to tense.
Some man is trying to talk to Bea, but she’s upset and walking away from him. I quickly put my things on the table and run over to her, Quinn and the guys are right behind me. The man grabs her arm and pulls her close to him. Before we can get to her, she knees him, then punches him in the face.
Wrapping my arm around her waist, I stop her from punching him in the face again. While I get Bea under control, Quinn stands in front of the man, and tells him to fuck off.
“I only want to talk?—”
“And I don’t want to listen to a word coming out of your fucking mouth,” Bea shouts at him, trying to get out of my grip.
I look between the two of them. Bea trying to fight me, and the man trying to get past Quinn.
“She said she doesn’t want to hear it.” Quinn pushes him back, only then does Bea finally relax in my arms. I still keep my arm around her, because she’s fast, and I know I won’t be able to grab her in time if she goes to make another move for the man.
“I’m her dad?—”
“You are not my dad, you are a fucking sperm donor—” She slaps my hands hard, and I let her go, but stay close to her. “Who walked out on my mother the second I was born.” She takes a step closer to him, but I grab her around the waist again. “You called her a whore, and never came back. You are not my dad, you are nothing in my life.” She stops, and takes in a deep breath. “The day the hospital called and said your name, I prayed it was to tell me you had died, so I would never have to hear from you again, but God still wants to punish me.” She looks up at me, and I loosen my grip while Quinn still stands in front of him. “The day you die, I’m going to light a match and throw it on your body, you mean that little to me.” She turns around to walk away, but stops when he speaks again.
“I am dying, all I want to do is make my wrongs right. I want to pay for your—” He stops when Bea turns around fast, and I hold her hand tight when I see it forming into a fist.
“I got here without you. I got into this stupid, posh college without you. I need nothing from you, and I certainly don’t need your fucking money. You rich fuckers all think that money can buy you anything, buy your way up in the world, buy peoples silence, buy yourself a woman to fuck, buy you the love of your family. But I’ll tell you this, it won’t work with me. Fuck you and your money. I will live the rest of my life in the mountain of debt I’m in before I take a cent from you.” She turns around and power walks away before he can say anything back to her. I walk back with Bea, taking a quick look over my shoulder to see Quinn and Blake are waiting for him to leave. I’m happy to know my friends will have Bea’s back if she needs it.
I look down at Bea, who is taking in a deep breath, before she looks up at me.
“You can let go of my hand now?” She tries to pry her hand out of my grip, but I keep it tight in mine.
“It looks nice where it is, it would look nicer somewhere else.” I smile when she starts laughing, but I let her hand go when Quinn walks over to us. Bea walks with him to the table where our stuff is.
I watch her and Quinn talking, but they’re quiet enough for me not to hear what they’re saying. I don’t even think their friend can hear what they are saying. It only makes me think one thing: what is she hiding?
“You had to pick the girl who is bat shit crazy, and has a history I don’t want to know about.” Logan laughs. I smile big, because she is crazy, and I’ll take all her crazy too. But I want to know about her history. Why does she hate people with money? She’s come to the wrong college, everyone in this town has money. And why does she hate this man so much when he is willing to pay for her college? Because she’s going to be in debt for fucking years, on top of the debt she’s already in. Why not take the money and be debt free?
“And we don’t have a history? We’re just good at hiding it,” I tell him.
We’ve not lived the lives like everyone in this town has thought, behind closed doors it’s a whole different story. Behind closed doors, we each lived with our own personal devil.
“For now. That shit’s going to come out sooner or later.” Logan says turning to face Blake and I.
“Later works good for me,” Blake adds, and I nod agreeing with him. I don’t need anyone knowing the shit that plays on repeat in my head.
Bea and her friends start walking away from the table. I quickly grab my stuff and catch up with her.
“PR, where are you going,” I ask, taking her books from her.
“Class.” She takes her books back from me, smiling. She has one sexy face, which I plan on fucking again soon.
“Do I get your number?” I grab her arm so she can stop walking for a second, the rest of the group continue to walk away, but stop just far enough so they can hear us.
“And what would you like to do with my number?” she asks.
“Call you, what else can I do with it?” I chuckle, because she wants me to work on getting her number. If I tried hard enough I could probably get it. But I want her to give it to me, I like playing this game of hers.
“What makes you think I even have a phone?”
I can’t help but burst out laughing.
“Okay, you want to play a game, let’s play a game. I get your phone number, you spend the weekend in my bedroom, naked, food will be delivered, and you cannot leave.” I smile when her dimples appear, because now I have her attention.
“And if you don’t?” she asks.
“Not going to happen,” I tell her. I’m sure I can get into the college office and get her number, August’s dad is the dean, I’m sure I can work my magic on him.
“How long do you have?” she says.
“You give me the time frame.” I’m up for a challenge, and I’m sure she’ll give me one too.
“Saturday, you have four days. And if you don’t get it, do I get to pick what you have to do?” She puts her weight on one foot, and looks up at me.
“This just got interesting,” I hear Blake behind me.
“Sure—”
“No, you don’t say yes then pull out. You lose, you need to do it.” She snaps at me, and I smile, taking her books from her again so I can walk her to class.
“I’m a lot of things, but I promise I keep my word, no matter what it is.” I reply and she takes her books from me again, which is starting to piss me off.
Bea takes a step closer to me, and stands on her tiptoes with her face turned up. I lean down so she can whisper to me.
“When you lose, I want you to get your dick pierced for me.” She stands back looking up at me, and smiles a smile so big, that all I want to do it fuck her right now.
“What does she want you to do?” Logan asks.
“I do that, we can’t have sex for a few weeks.” I stop when she starts laughing. “She wants me to get my friend pierced.”
“Oh I love her., I hear August say, and Blake starts laughing.
“No, it will stop you having sex. I can still fuck who I want, the last I checked my finger was bare.” She puts up her left hand, and looks at her finger. “You can always say no.” She says while tilting her head to the side, she’s so fucking beautiful. I burst out laughing because she thinks I’m going to let anyone even come close to her, she fucking crazier then I thought.
“If anyone, and I mean anyone, touches you, or even thinks about kissing you, I promise they will be dead within twenty-four hours. Their body will never be found, do you want to play that game,” I ask her, and she looks behind me. I can only guess she’s looking at August and Meadow, because it’s their voices I hear next.
“He’s not joking,” I hear August say.
“Welcome to the club,” Meadow adds, and Bea finally looks back at me.
“You have four days, good luck.” She winks and goes to walk away from me, but I quickly grab her arm and pull her into me, leaning down with my lips close to hers.
“Now, now, at least give me a kiss before you leave.” I trace my finger softly up her shirt, touching her soft, smooth skin, making her take in a sharp breath. “You can test me, but I’m happy to fuck you on campus, make you scream my name so everyone knows who’s fucking you if you want.” She licks her lips, then moves her tongue across my bottom lip and gives me a small kiss before she pulls away.
“Now, I wouldn’t mind that. Just tell me the place.” She glances up at me and gives me another wink, before she turns and walks away.
I’m going to fuck her somewhere on this campus, and she’s going to love it.
