21. Travis

You thinkthere is nothing more in the world a man can do to fucking piss you off, but I was wrong. The years of abuse don’t even come close to how much rage is pouring through me at the moment.

He touched my girl, my girl! I shout to myself as I sit in the car as Blake drives. I parked Bea’s car at the house before we headed to my dad’s, I didn’t want him seeing it, and saying something to piss me off. At the moment it won’t take much, I could rip his head off.

It”s not knowing what he’s done to her, the camera was off, and it’s been a few hours now. Not knowing where she is, how she is, it”s making me on edge.

“You want to stop tapping the fucking steering wheel,” I snap at Blake. He stops straight away and doesn’t say anything. Neither of them have, I don’t blame them, there isn’t anything to say. We didn’t have to fight for August, or Meadow. Our dads never went for them, so what can they say to me, to make me feel like I’ve not let her down.

“We’ll get her,” Logan pats my shoulder as we pull up at my dads house, and I see he’s not alone. All our dads are here, so this should be fucking interesting, which one can I kill first.

Walking into the house, I shout,“Where is she?” while he sits on the sofa like he”s done nothing fucking wrong.

“Who?” the bastard asks, and Blake stops me going for him.“You lose somethi-”

“You are a sick fucking bastard. You know. Now. Where. Is. She?” I shout at him, which only makes him laugh. “This is a game to you, so what do you want?”

We spoke about this in the car, the three of them haven’t done all this for nothing. My dad will do anything to get what he wants, and to hurt me. He’s made it his life”s mission to make my life miserable. But like us they have a big plan, they know something we don’t know, so this is a play for something.

“Why do you think I’ve done something to her?” My dad finally stands up and puts his hands into his pocket. “Always told you, pussy fucks with the head. Look at you now, protecting a girl you fuck-”

“How about you shut the fuck up.” I know he’s trying to piss me off more, but it’s hard not to punch the fucker. “Where is she?” I ask again.

“Don’t know, but I have something else for you,” He pulls out an envelope from his jacket pocket, and puts it out for me to take, but I don”t. I’m not playing his fucking game.

Logan snatches it off him, and hands it to me. Opening it up, I read the words, shaking my head. “So keeping things from me, is never going to stop then.”

Once I finish college, the hotel will be put into my name, I also get the money my grandparents left me, and the money which was my mothers. Leaving my piece of shit dad with nothing, and I can’t help the smile spreading. My grandparents never trusted him from the start, so I love this so much.

“And?” I ask him, giving the letter to Logan for him and Blake to read. I’m not sure what this has to do with anything. “Where is she?”

Logan hands the letter back to me, and I put it in my back pocket. I stare at my dad, I know what he wants, this little fucked up game he thinks he’s won, and right now I don’t give a fucking shit about it. I only care about Bea.

“Close friendship you three have, but how close is it?” My dad points to the three of us, but none of us say anything. “Now all I can say is I don’t know where she is now, but I can tell you who knows.” I snicker at his comment, because he’s answered that question for me. As much as I want to kill Jasper, Cain gets to have him.

“What do you want?” I ask him again, we might as well get the plan they are working on. Because the hotel, I don’t give a fuck about it, and by the time I leave this house, there won’t even be a hotel for them to have.

“Everything the grandparents left the three of you, in our name. We won’t ever see each other again.” Again all they want is the fucking money, the greedy bastards have done no work for the money, they married our mom’s and took our grandparents money.

I don’t have time to fuck around with him and his fucking mind games. I need to find Bea, and he won’t tell me anything.

There was a part of me that knew he wouldn’t tell me anything, I thought maybe the heartless asshole might feel a little guilt in him, but I know the man doesn’t care who he has to get rid off to get what he wants.

I walk out the house, punching the window on my way out, not caring I’ve just cut my hand. I’m not going to let the fucking bastard win. Slamming my hand on the top of the car, a few times, before turning to the guys.

“If it means finding Bea, I’ll give it all-”

“What?” I snap at Logan, and Blake who agrees with him.

“Travis, not sure if you’ve admitted it to yourself, but you love that crazy woman. And if it was Meadow, I’d do it without a second thought.”

“Travis, I’d drop everything if it meant protecting August. Bea is family, my brother’s girl, I’d do it,” Blake adds, and I shake my head.

“He just said he doesn’t know where she is now, but Jasper knows. The fucker let it slip because he got arrogant, we give him everything, he has no idea where Bea is,” my voice is loud, my heart is banging so hard in my chest it’s fucking hurting me.

Placing my hands on my knees, I take in some deep breaths. Shit, I can’t breathe. I’m not losing Bea, I can’t lose Bea.

I look at Logan. “Will you do anything?” I ask him.

“To get your girl, yes,” he tells me.

“We need to go to Skyline.” I get in the car before they can ask me why. Cain wants something from Logan, and maybe this is what he was waiting for, I have no idea, but I’m fucking praying Logan will agree to whatever it is he wants.

The car ride is quiet, my hands sweating as I wipe them on my jeans, as my legs bounce up and down. Blake parks the car in a no parking zone, and I get out and walk straight in, not even saying anything to the bouncer.

Walking into the office, Hayden and Cain are talking, and it is still fucking dark in here. “What do you want? Anything, anything you want, the three of us are ready to give it to you.” I stare at Cain, who leans back in his seat. “Anything?”

“Something bad must have happened-”

“He’s taken Bea, Jasper knows where she is. I have a feeling you like torture to get people to talk. I need to find her,” I say quickly, because I have no idea how much time I have, the more time she’s with him, and fuck knows what’s happening. “I opened Tess’ letter, she said she’s sorry she wasn’t strong enough, and she loved you.” I slam the ring and letter on the table, wanting Cain to know I’m not hiding things from him. Well I am, but he will get that information if he helps me. Cain finally takes his sunglasses off, and picks up the ring.

“Can I?” Cain points to the letter, nodding my head, he begins reading the letter. And for the first time I think I’ve seen a hint of something different in his dark eyes that isn’t darkness.

Cain turns to Hayden. “Go get him.” Cain looks at me, then at the ring, and then puts it in his pocket.

“Where do you want him?” Hayden asks.

Cain taps his thumb on the desk, thinking about what he wants. “Basement.”

“Are you sure?” Hayden is quick to ask.

“He’s not dying, he can be my pet,” the corner of Cain’s lip curls up, and the smile gives me a fucking shiver.

Hayden nods, and leaves the office. Cain, who I can only say is still thinking about what he will do to Jasper, sits there quietly. A part of me wants to know, the other doesn’t.

“What do you want?” I know he doesn’t want anything from me, it’s Logan. He wants a relationship with his brother. Cain turns to Logan.

“Run this business with me, that’s all I want. Give me a chance. You finish your business degree, then work with me.” I look over at Logan, well it’s not as bad as I thought it was going to be, I mean who wouldn’t want a part of this business.

“I’ll give you a chance, and I’ll even learn this business, be here when you need me to, but my business will be with these two first. We have a business plan ready, and it’s something I want to do. But you help my brother, I will run this business when you need me to, the way you want it to be run.

“Will you run it, like you’d run your own business?” Cain asks.

I step closer to his desk. “I will learn everything with Logan, I will be here when you need him to be here, we will both look after this place, and not fuck it up. This is your baby, and I swear I won’t let anything happen to it. If my sister was going to marry you, we would be family. If you still love my sister, then believe me when I say, I beg you to believe me. I will run this place, I will be here no matter the time, you need to be somewhere you call me. I will be here.” I hear the pleading, and the begging in my voice, but I don’t care. I will get on my fuck knees and beg if it meant he would help me find Bea.

Cain looks at the letter again, and shakes his head. “Don’t kill yourself over not opening this letter sooner, Tess knew you wouldn’t. I even told her you wouldn’t.”

“Cain, I’ll work here. The three of us will be here when you need us to look after the club. And I’ll try harder with us,” Logan tells him, and I turn to Logan who pats my back.

Cain hands the letter back, then leans back on his chair. “I’ll get some answers, I’ll call you.”

“Cain, she was taken five hours ago-” I stop talking when his phone rings, he doesn’t even say hello when he puts the phone to his ear.

“Take the car, get Miles to hack the tracker…go to the whore he’s fucking, she’ll know where he is.” Cain ends the call, and smiles. “I do like when they run.”

“She was taken five hours ago.”

“As soon as I get him I’ll let you know, you’re welcome to stay.” Cain stands up and takes his jacket off, and rolls up his shirt sleeves. “It will be fun.”

“We have something else to do, time to take something from the bastards, but before we leave can I ask a question?” This question has been eating at me since I read Tess’ letter.

“I think I’ve answered a lot of questions in the last twenty four hours.” Cain walks to the front of his desk, and sits on the end, legs out wide.

“Did you love my sister?” He chuckles to himself.

“Still do.” The words come out in a whisper.

“Why was she told to date Jasper?”

“There is a reason your dad owns half the town. And Jasper’s family is behind it. The deal was that Tess marries Jasper. Your dad is a smart man, he knows what he’s doing, and the second they started dating, your dad got them to sign the town over to him. She was forced to date him, it was either to date Jasper or something would happen to you…” Cain stops talking, and puts his hands in his pocket, closing his eyes. “She didn’t want to, but I told her no matter what happens I’m here, I’ll always be here. She had to protect her brother. The bastard knew Tess would never be his, so he raped her, and your dad covered it. All for power.” Cain opens his eyes, locks his bloodshot red eyes with mine. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect her. I kill myself every second of the day for it.” Now I don’t know what to say to him. “Just so you know, Hayden was the guy who helped Tessa when she needed it, and he never said no to her. Even if it meant coming close to the Pit to spend ten minutes with me. For me he did everything I asked. I’ll call you when I know where your girl is.”

Fuck. Why did Tess never talk to me, why keep it a secret from me? There will be questions I’ll never get the answer to, and I’m going to have to live with it. All I know is my sister found a guy she loved, that’s all I need to know.

I have to trust Cain to find my girl, who has been gone for almost six hours, has been beaten a great deal in that time, and fuck knows what else they have done to her.

***

This has been a plan for a year, we knew how to take the hotel from them, and get rid of it so it’s never mentioned again. We had to get Aaron’s blessing to do it, because he and the others are the ones who built this company, and now we watch it burn in flames.

Aaron was happy about it, said it was one of the best businesses they made, but along the way turned into something so ugly, to the point of greed which was too much for others.

Our dads thought they had the head of security in their pocket, they didn”t. We did. From the moment they banned us from the hotel, we knew their power was going to get bigger and bigger.

Now it’s time to bring them down and show them they would be nothing if they didn’t marry our moms. The women who they killed or forced marriage on them. We are taking it from them the way they took it from our moms.

Cain called me forty minutes ago, letting me know he’s got Jasper, and will call me once he knows something. Eight hours she’s been somewhere. Eight fucking hours.

“It’s empty, no one”s there. And the guys have it all ready,” Head of security tells us, and I give him a nod letting him know they can all leave.

“Ready?” I ask them both.

“Time to make our own business,” Logan says.

Blake lights the match, takes a two steps closer to the hotel and throws the flame down to the ground. I smile when the flame starts moving up the building.

It’s time to take our life back. The years of planning to finish them are finally coming. One step at a time, until we get rid of them for good.

They thought we were going to sit back and let them take everything, they were wrong, and they should have learned when we took down Blake and Logan’s dad. They might still be walking, but it doesn’t mean we’re finished.

I look at my phone to check the time, five in the morning, wherever she is, she’s been there all night. Yet, the only thing I can think of is, is she alive?

My dad must have found out who she is, who her mother was. So did he know she’s got secrets about our family? The only way to keep their secrets hidden is to get rid of the person who knows them.

I wouldn’t put it past my dad to kill her, and the more and more I re-read the letter in my head, I’m starting to think he was behind Tess’ death. She said it, if he found out about Cain, then he would kill her. But how did he find out about her,

“Quinn’s calling again.” I tell the guys, he hasn”t stopped calling and I don’t think I can ignore him any longer. “Meet me at campus, ten minutes.” I end the call, and think about what to tell him.

“We’ll go to Skyline, you go talk to him.” Logan walks to his car, before we got here we went to the house to get the car, and explain to the girls what is happening. We know they won’t ask questions, these two have the girls who are too scared to ask about the crazy shit we do. It would only happen to me to get the stubborn sexy beautiful woman who doesn’t hide from the crazy, has taken over me, and I wouldn’t want anyone else too.

“I’ll be there quickly, I want to make a move as soon as Cain finds out.” I get in my car and make my way to campus, and the only thing I can think of telling Quinn is the truth. There isn’t anything else I can say to him, I lie he will want to talk to her, and I can’t do that. So the truth, it is.

Thereisn’t anything else I can say to him, I lie he will want to talk to her, and I can’t do that. So the truth, it is.

I lean on my car, waiting for Quinn to get here, checking my phone for updates from the guys, or even Cain. But there’s nothing.

I don’t bother turning around when I hear the car behind me. On the drive to campus, all I can think about is this conversation that I am about to have and what to say to him, but nothing comes to me.

“Where is she?” Quinn shouts, as he walks around my car to face me.

“I’m looking for her,” I tell him, and he shakes his head, the burning anger in his eyes warns me, and I quickly move out the way as he tries to punch me.

“I asked, where is she?” He roars.

Taking a deep breath, I grab the laptop from the back seat, and place it on top of the car, and hit play so he can watch.

Not looking at the screen, but hearing it, brings a sick knot in my stomach, and it’s taking everything in me to keep it together.

“Is she…is she-?”

“Until I know otherwise, she is,” I answer Quinn’s unaskable question. Quinn goes quiet and I’m not sure what he’s thinking. I don”t know him well enough to read him.

“How did you know she was on campus?” he asks.

“You think I had something to do with this?” I snap at him. Now I get it, I can be a fucking prick, but there is no way I would hurt any woman. “There is no fucking way I’d hurt Bea, I lov…I put a tracker in her.” She knows I’ve put one in her, and she’ll tell Quinn too, so no point hiding it.

“Are you fucking crazy, you’re a fucking…there are so many things I can call you right now, and every single one of them isn’t nice.” He takes a step closer to me, and slams his hands into my chest. I think he wanted to do it hard, but it didn”t do much.“You find her, and if anything has happened to her, Travis Parker, I will make it my life’s mission to fuck up yours.” He slams his hands into my chest again, and this time it’s hard enough to make me take a step back. “Your fucked up dad took her brother, took her mom. She won’t let them take her. She will fight, you better find her before he takes her too.”

Quinn stands in front of me, hearing his heavy breath, but I look away from him because now I know what my dad took from her, and if it wasn’t for her mom, he would have taken it from her, and Tess. There aren”t enough words in the world for me to say thank you to her, and the only person I can thank is Bea. I will fulfill my sister”s wish. I will look after Bea until my last breath.

“Anything happens to Bea, that’s on you. No one but you.” He walks past me, slamming into my shoulder at the same time, and I hear him say a few more words as he walks to his car, but I don’t turn around. I just wait for the car to drive off.

Slamming the laptop shut, I throw it hard on the floor, punching my car window a few times, until it breaks, but the pain in my hand is nothing compared to the pain in my chest right now.

Quinn’s right, anything happens to her, it’s on me. I’ll lose everything to him again. The bastard wins again.

Cain better have some fucking answers from him, anything at this point. One little thing could help me find her.

Walking into Cain’s office, the guys are talking to Hayden and the twins, who are smiling at the topless women serving drinks. Not looking at them I grab two drinks and down them both. God do I need a drink.

“Any news?” I ask.

“He’s still down there,” Hayden is the one to answer me.

“Have you guys been to the pit?” Blake asks, it”s a question I would have asked. It sounds like fucking hell.

“No, and don’t want to,” Mason is the first to answer.

“Been once, and don’t plan on going again. You think Cain is dark, you haven’t seen anything yet. I was there for an hour, and didn”t sleep the whole night.” Hayden answers without looking up from his phone. “Don’t have a fucking clue how he lived down there for so long.”

We all turn to the door when it slams open. “Out!” he shouts at the women, and they rush out as he walks over to his desk. He throws a map down on his desk, I take a moment to look over his hands. No blood stains, not even any cuts, so how the hell did he get him to talk. “They threw her in the water,” he looks over the map. “Here,” he points.

I rush over to look at the map, to see and I punch the desk. “In the middle of fucking no where, and she’s been in there for almost eight hours, and fucking drugged.” I look over at the guys, asking them for some fucking advice, but my head is all over the place to think straight.

“We’ve got a boat, she’s a swimmer-”

“She was drugged!” I snap at him.

“She wasn’t knocked out. Asshole downstairs said she wasn’t knocked out, she was drugged. Put up a fight before she was thrown in.” Cain adds, and I look at the map again, there is nothing around for her to swim to. Beaten, drugged, and out there for eight hours. That is all I can think about.

“Come on, let”s get out there.” Logan stands in front of me. “See what is there.” He turns to Cain. “Thank you.” The next thing I know is I’m being pulled out of the office.

I’m going to kill my fucking dad, I’m going to make sure the fucker pays for this. If anything has happened to her…no I can’t think like this. Bea’s a fighter, she will fight until she has nothing left, I know she will. Please fight, be strong, I’m coming.
