Chapter 35

Chapter Thirty-Five

L uke opens the back door. "Hop in and lie down," he tells me. I give him a skeptical look, but do what he says. He climbs in after me and closes the door behind him.

"What are we doing?" I ask.

"I'm hungry and don't want to wait for a snack. I can't fuck you right now, Tanna, but I can do something… if you promise to stay still. You can't move around and hurt yourself." His hands are already pulling my tights down my legs. He takes one foot out and then spreads my thighs open.

"Here? Luke, anyone could see." I try to close my legs.

"The windows are far too dark for anyone to see inside, and there's no one here. Just you and me, Tanna." His finger runs up the center of my folds, and an involuntary moan leaves my mouth. "Do you want me to make you feel good?" he asks. "Do you want me to lick this pussy until I wring every bit of pleasure from your body?"

I nod my head. I can feel myself get wetter at his words. Luke bends forward. His hands hold my thighs, keeping me spread wide open for him. Before I can protest, his tongue swipes through the center of my pussy. From bottom to top. My body lifts, and Luke's head pops up.

"Keep still or I'll have to stop," he warns.

I nod and bite down on my lip. There's no way I can keep still, but I'm going to try. I want this. Luke's tongue swipes up through my folds again, swirling around my clit before he closes his mouth over the hard bud, and he sucks. My hand flies up to my mouth, muffling the scream of pleasure coming out of me. Just when I think he can't possibly make me feel any better, Luke pushes a finger into my entrance and starts fucking me with his hand while sucking on my clit at the same time.

How the hell does he expect me to stay still right now?

My free hand grips the back of his head. I don't know if I'm pulling him closer towards me or trying to pull him off me. The sensations running through my body are almost too much to handle. I feel his teeth graze over my clit and then he's pushing another finger inside me.

"Oh God! Luke," I moan out.

He pumps those fingers in and out a few times. Then I feel my entire body tighten. My stomach hurts, but no way am I stopping this. I can feel the orgasm. It's there, just waiting for me to reach out and catch it. And I do.

I twist my fingers in Luke's hair as I hold his face over my pussy, grinding up into his mouth as I come. My legs shake with the force of the aftershocks, and then my entire body slumps back against the leather seat of his car. I'm totally spent. I didn't realize just how much I needed that. Luke continues to lick me until I can't handle the sensations anymore and I have to pull him off me.

"Favorite snack ever," he says with a smirk.

"I guess it's a good thing you have that never-ending supply then, huh?"

"Thank fuck." Luke's eyes glaze over my body. "Are you okay? Did I hurt you?"

"No, I'm good," I tell him. When he doesn't look like he believes me, I take his face in my hands. "I promise."

"Okay." He puts my foot back through the one leg hole of my panties and then my tights and drags the fabric up my thighs again. "You good?"

"I am, but are you?" I glance down at his crotch.

"I'll be fine. I've been dealing with a hard cock around you since I was sixteen." He laughs.

"I never noticed."

"Because I got good at hiding it," he says.

We never made it to the supermarket. Luke decided I'd worn myself out enough for today and should be resting. I tried to argue that I was fine, but really I'm glad to be curled up on the sofa next to him right now, and not out at the shops. This is my favorite place to be, when it's just him and me in our bubble. A bubble no one can pop.

Luke's phone rings. He ignores it but I notice the name on the screen.

"It's Liliana. You should answer it," I tell him.

He squints at the phone and then leans forward to pick it up. "Lil, what's up?" I don't hear what she says but he holds the phone to me. "It's for you."

I take it out of his hand. "Hello?"

"Hey, I tried your phone first, but it kept ringing out," Liliana says.

"Sorry. I left it upstairs. Is everything okay?" I ask, my eyebrows drawn down in concern. She doesn't usually call me.

"Yeah, I have some information for you. Is it okay if I pop over?"

"Of course," I say and then look at Luke. "Wait. Hold on a sec." I cover the receiver with my hand. "Liliana wants to come over. Is that okay?"

"Tanna, it's your house. If you want her to come over, then have her over," Luke says.

"Thank you." I uncover the phone. "Yes, it's okay," I tell Liliana .

"Great, because I'm at your front door now," she says and then the doorbell rings.

The phone cuts off and I set it back down on the table. "I'll get the door. Stay here," Luke says, kissing the top of my head as he gets up off the sofa.

A few minutes later, Luke walks back into the living room, followed by Liliana, Travis, and two of her cousins. Enzo and Dante. My brows knit together. I didn't realize they were all coming with her.

"Hey." I sit up straighter.

"Sorry to barge in, but I thought you'd want to see this," Liliana says before handing me a manilla folder.

"What is it?" I question while taking the folder.

"It's a dossier on Kristy Baker," Enzo answers for her.

"Her mother?" Luke lowers himself down next to me. He looks at the folder like he wants to tear it out of my hands. He doesn't though.

"It's… um… It might not be what you're expecting, Montana," Dante says.

"Why?" I'm already opening the file, sifting through the numerous pages of information and photos. Pictures of my mom. I haven't seen her in years, but I'd recognize her anywhere. You never forget the face of the woman who abandoned you.

Then I notice her clothes. "What's she wearing?" I flip through the photos. "And what is she doing?"

"She married Brenton Glenn, the leader of the Brent Brothers Brethren." Enzo sits down on the sofa in front of me.

I look up at him, confused. "What's the Brent Brothers Brethren?"

"It's a cult," he says. "Not your average I'm going to be a hippie and get stoned every day kind of cult either."

"What?" I look at Luke and quickly hand him the folder. I don't want to read it. "Why would my brother tell me not to look for her?"

"Because I bet he found out what she was planning. What they were planning," Dante says.

"What was she planning?" Luke chimes in, picking up my hand and covering it with his.

"Ah, it's not… Well, there's no easy way to say it."

I can see the pity in Enzo's eyes and I don't like it.

"She was going to sacrifice you for the cause ," he says, putting extra emphasis on the last words.

"Sacrifice me? How?" I ask him.

"A blood ritual. The youngest child from each of the leaders is supposed to be sacrificed in some ritual. They believe it will give them eternal life or some bullshit."

"How do you know this?"

"We went to the house with some of the Monroe men—the one where we found Andrew or rather his twin," Dante explains. "I found a laptop there. And, well, there's not much I can't hack into when it comes to computers. I managed to get into Adam's emails."

"Adam? Who's Adam?" I feel like my head is spinning.

"Andrew's twin, also the son of your mother's new husband," Enzo says.

I shake my head. "I don't know how… I don't get it. Why wouldn't Andrew tell me that?"

"From what I read, Andrew was supposed to collect you and bring you to the farm. You were both supposed to be sacrificed. I guess he got cold feet. Decided to keep you for himself and hid you away instead." Dante shrugs. "It's all in the email printouts I included in the file, exchanges between Adam and his father."

"My mom?" I look at Luke. "My mother wants to kill me?"

"That's not going to happen," Luke grinds out. Then he turns his attention to Liliana's cousins. "Where is she? Montana's mother?"

"On a farm, about four hours west," Enzo replies. "We found something else, at that property." He looks at me and then at Luke. "Andrew's body was shoved into a deep freezer, his blood drained and stored in bags around him."

"Andrew's dead?" I choke on my words.

"He is."

"Okay." I nod.

That's good, right? He can't come for me now. He can't hurt me anymore. I thought I would feel something the moment I heard he was dead. I thought I'd feel more… free. But I'm not free, am I? I won't be free until this entire nightmare is over.

However, it does make sense. Why Sean was warning me to stay away from our mother. "Why would Sean have killed himself?" I ask Luke. "What am I missing?"

"We don't know, but I'd hazard a guess that he thought if he offered himself up, you'd be spared? Maybe," Dante suggests.
