6. Chapter Six
Chapter Six
Ronan
T he lecture hall is starting to empty while I'm glued to my seat, not moving. I'm actually nervous to meet with Professor Carson after school today. When we met last week, he ran out of our session quickly and I'm sure it was because of me.
I don't know what it is about him, but he's so damn sexy and I can't stop myself from staring at him. I'm pretty sure I fucking sniffed him last time, which was why he bolted out of the library.
The last person leaves the room and I'm still planted in my seat. Professor Carson glances around the room before locking eyes with me .
"You still want to meet at the library?" His voice is quieter than usual and it ramps up my concerns if it's because of me who made him leave so swiftly last time.
"Uh, yeah sure."
"Let's go," he replies curtly, stepping away from the lectern.
We start walking toward the library, neither of us saying anything. When we reach the tables inside, we sit side by side, pulling out all of our supplies. At this point, I don't even think I need to be tutored, but I don't want to stop. I like spending time with Professor Carson. And it's honestly not even tutoring anymore; it's me working and asking questions and him simply guiding me on what to do.
"You doing anything for Halloween?"
What the fuck, Ronan? He's not going to answer that.
"Not really. I might grab some wings and take them home. Maybe watch a couple horror movies." He shrugs, turning back to the paper in front of him.
"What type of horror movies do you like?" I ask, wanting to get to know more about him.
"I like the Halloween movies, or, like, Nightmare on Elm Street , Saw ."
"Those are good. I like rewatching all the Scream movies." I also like knowing we have things in common .
"I like those, too. Do you have any plans for Halloween?" he inquires, looking at me quickly, before moving his eyes back down.
"My roommates want to go out, but I doubt we'll stay out for very long."
"How come?"
Using my finger, I slide my paper back and forth on the surface. "We're not big party people. We'll go out every now and then, but it's not often."
"Ah, so you all aren't typical college students?" he jokes.
"Not at all." I laugh and Professor Carson joins in. His eyes brighten when he laughs and I notice my body leaning closer to him.
"I wasn't a big partier either when I was in school. I was too focused on my studies. Seems we have some things in common."
"I can see that." He raises his eyebrow in question, and I rush to clarify. "You just seem like a person who wouldn't go out partying and drinking and running wild. That kind of thing."
"I'm still not. Well, I hope you enjoy your night out with your roommates."
"Thanks. Enjoy your night with your movies."
We give each other a small smile before getting back to work.
Staring at myself in the mirror, I'm in awe of how good I look. I squeezed my ass into tight leather shorts with a matching leather harness. I finished out the outfit with a collar around my neck. Turning around, I check out my ass in the mirror, giving it a little shake. Thrumming with excitement, I grab the flogger off my bed before making my way down to the living room.
When the guys said they wanted to go to a party for Halloween, I was all for it. But I knew I had to pick a fantastic costume. I had spent days looking online at different costumes when I finally ran across this one. I added it to my cart as fast as I could. Not because I wanted it for the party, but because I knew it would do so well in a video.
Arriving at the party, I break away from the guys and head to the beer pong table and play a game with a few people. Sam, a previous hookup, walks over to me while eyeing me up and down.
"Damn, Ronan. I wasn't sure if it was you or not. You look fucking amazing."
"Thanks Sam." Someone from the other teams makes the ball into my cup, so I grab my drink, gulping down some of the beer.
"How have you been? Haven't seen you in a while. "
"I've been good. Keeping up with school, nothing new there. What about you?" I ask, watching the next person go.
"Basically, the same." He chuckles and I laugh along with him. Someone calls my name, so I glance up, realizing it's my turn.
"Hold on a sec."
Walking to the table, I grab the little white ball, closing one eye and aiming before throwing it. My ball goes into the cup easily, and I jump up, hyped that the other team has to take a drink.
"So, what's your costume supposed to be?" he asks, looking me up and down. "I mean, don't get me wrong, you look hot as hell, but I'm not sure if it's an actual costume or if you just wanted to wow us all." He taps his finger against his chin, eyeing me up and down.
"Definitely just wanted to wow you all." Sam shakes his head and I shrug. "I just saw it and wanted it."
"You tend to do that with most things." He winks, and I pick up on his meaning.
"Well, when I want something, I do what I have to do to get it."
"Same old Ronan."
Not really, but I don't bother explaining that to him. I wasn't like this before. Hookups only, I mean. But after having my trust broken multiple times, I don't want to risk giving it to someone who could hurt me. Sam only met me this past year, so all he knows is the new Ronan, the hookup Ronan. Not who I was before.
"Well, it was great to see you." He offers me a soft smile before turning and disappearing into the crowd. Sam never wanted anything more than hooking up, so we just casually fizzled out. Luckily, we're still able to be friendly.
I turn back toward the table, giving my attention to the game. Halfway through the next game, I notice Noah taking off into the crowd, but I see Asher following him, so I let him go.
Noah is the person I've gotten closest to since coming to BU. He's like a little brother to me, and I'm thankful for his friendship. Thinking about it, we haven't spent much time together since the school year started and he got with Asher. I need to talk to him. I miss him.
I play a few more rounds before deciding to call it a night. I still have a video to make, and this outfit is starting to get too tight. I pass by West and Carter, letting them know I'm going to head home before slipping out of the house and making my way to the street. The party isn't too far from our house, so I decide to walk. The cool air helps to cool off my sweat slicked body caused by the way too tight leather.
I slow to a stop when a smaller SUV pulls up beside me. The window rolls down and Professor Carson's head pops out.
"Ronan? "
"Oh, uh, hey Professor," I say, waving my hand awkwardly.
"Need a ride? It's freezing out."
"Yeah, sure thanks."
Rounding the back of his car, I open the door to the passenger side and slide into the seat. The heater is at full blast, a gust of hot air hitting me as soon as I'm sitting down.
"Thank you. I didn't realize how cold it would be when I picked out this uh..." My eyes flick down to my outfit, my hand subconsciously pulling on the hem of my shorts. "Outfit," I finish quietly.
"Ah yes. Well, the outfit is something else, isn't it?" His eyes gaze over what I'm wearing, and if I'm not mistaken, linger a few seconds longer on my lower half. "Where am I headed?"
I give him directions to the house and as he starts driving, I try to make conversation, albeit awkwardly. "What have you been up to this Halloween?"
"I was hanging out with a friend. Decided to head home early. I'm not one to party."
"No wings and Halloween movies?" He glances at me, his eyebrow raised. "Earlier today you said you were going to get some wings and watch some horror movies."
"Oh, I got the wings and ate them with a friend. I was on my way to watch the movies when I saw you walking down the street. "
"Well, thank you for picking me up and driving me. When I walked to the party, it wasn't as cold out, so I didn't even think to bring a jacket or anything."
"It's no problem, Ronan."
"So, what movie are you planning to watch?"
"Maybe Scream. I'm not sure yet. Whichever calls my name when I get home." The fact that he might watch the movie I brought up earlier has me smiling shyly out the window.
We pass under a streetlight and I get a good look at him. He's so gorgeous. He has this light red beard covering his face and glasses that make him look hot as fuck. He may be my professor, but I can appreciate the looks of a sexy man. And he is damn sexy with beautiful freckles lining his face. Continuing my ogling, my eyes track down his body, taking in what he's wearing. Black sweatpants with a BU shirt that's tight on the arms. My eyes make their way back up and when I finally reach his eyes, I notice he's looking right at me.
Clearing my throat, I grin before saying, "Maybe I'll go home and watch a Scream movie, too. All this talk of horror movies makes me want to watch them. Plus, my roommates aren't home and one usually forces us to watch Rom-Coms, so it's the perfect time to use the bigger TV in the living room for what I want to watch."
"Do you like living with roommates?" he asks as his hand flicks the blinker. He comes to a stop at the stop sign before turning right onto my street.
"I like my roommates, so that's probably why I like it. If we didn't get along, I would probably hate it. I'm not as close to all of them as I am to Noah, but they're still really good friends."
"Noah Atwood right? The one you're always sitting next to in class?"
"Yeah, he's one of my roommates. Plus his boyfriend, Asher, and our two other friends."
"Sounds like a full house." He chuckles.
"It really is. Do you have any roommates?"
"Uh, no. I live alone. I did the whole roommate thing once, and it didn't work out."
I point out our house on the street and he pulls into the driveway before putting the car in park. "At least you don't have to deal with the messes of other people." I shudder, thinking of how messy West can be sometimes.
"That's true." He laughs, turning in his seat to look at me.
"Thank you for driving me home," I tell him sincerely, grateful I didn't have to walk home in the frigid night.
"It's no problem. Really."
My hand rests on the seat belt release, not wanting to take it off. I don't want to get out of this car. I want to stay here with Professor Carson and talk more. I like learning little details about him. All I know is what I've seen in class, so this little glimpse I'm getting tonight is everything.
"Well, thank you again. I guess I'll see you in class on Tuesday?" I really don't want to leave, but I know I need to.
"Yeah, I'll see you then."
Pushing open the door, I slowly get out, hoping he'll stop me, but knowing he won't. I don't know what it is about him, but he's so easy to talk to. I could easily get lost in conversation with him. I walk up the pathway to the door and insert the key into the lock. I turn around to see him still sitting in the car watching me. Giving him a small wave, I grin widely when he waves back at me. I walk into the house and shut the door, leaning against it, the faint sound of his car finally leaving the driveway.
