44. ELLIE
ELLIE
Macon mentioned that it wasn’t a miracle drug so I’m braced for the serum to stop working at any moment. I know that’s not how it works but I’m still wary that this is the only real moment I’ll have with the two of them. However, the more I try to dissect this abrupt change, the less I can stay in the moment. So, I stop worrying, Savin’s contagious smile enough to draw me out of my head.
I move closer to him, unraveling myself from the blanket only to find myself pulled into my Omega’s lap, his nose nuzzling the side of my face as he cradles me against his chest. “To be able to hold you in my nest, angel. Fuck, this is everything.” He’s still trembling but there’s no tension, no hardness in his scent. It hasn’t taken away all of his symptoms but he’s relaxed and that’s all I can ask for.
“Am I chopped liver?” Macon jokes, moving to sit behind Savin so that he’s holding us both. “Joking. How are you feeling, Savin?”
“A little drunk, I guess? But the pain is gone. It doesn’t hurt. Just a little slow on the movements.” Savin tightens his hold around me, both of my men staring at me as if I’m the most precious part of this situation. “Now, future.” He slurs the last word and then giggles, the sounds vibrating through his chest. His hands drop to my belly, rubbing in small circles, the heat of his hand soothing any lingering panic I’ve been holding onto.
“Baby, we don’t need to talk about all of that right now. Let’s have one night. Just one.” I press a hand to his chest, hoping that will stop Savin’s need to fix absolutely everything at this moment. If cuddles are in my future, I want to enjoy it without that conversation being forced into existence. Macon has already told me that this is my home as well. I just need to figure out the logistics and what happens long term.
Which can happen tomorrow.
Savin grunts his disapproval at my words but doesn’t fight me on it as we maneuver onto our sides. Savin wraps himself around me, burying his head in my hair as Macon holds the both of us, their scents surrounding me in a warm cocoon. I drift off to sleep dreaming of rowdy toddlers as Savin runs after them, Macon and I laughing when the scene delves into chaos. What I don’t expect to see is the little girl in my arms as I look up at my Alpha to catch his smile.
A future of normality is something I’m starting to crave even if it means I have to move a few things around. One can only hope that this medication is a miracle drug, regardless of what their doctor says.
Savin’s erratic snores pull me out of my sleep and I sit up to see the Omega humping a pillow as he mumbles Macon’s name. His scent is awful sweet this early in the morning but I need to pee and eat before I entertain any of his advances. The fact that Macon isn’t in the nest with us tells me that I shouldn’t have to worry about any sudden flares.
Scrambling from the mattress to use the bathroom, I opt in for a shower. Twenty minutes later, I’m staring at the floor-length mirror by the tub. I turn sideways, rubbing my hands along my protruding belly. I’ll have to go in for a checkup sooner rather than later but the evidence of two babies is now clearly there. I’ve enjoyed the last few days of boxer shorts and large shirts, hiding my new body but it’s time to fully embrace it.
Especially since everyone knows.
I redress in the clothes Macon procured for yesterday, leaving behind the panties and leggings as I redo the small belt beneath my chest, tightening it until it’s very obvious that I’m pregnant. If my tits didn’t already give it away. I weather a nervous giggle, unsure of how Macon and Savin will take the change until I hear laughter ringing out from the kitchen. That sounds like Savin. I rush into a scene very different than anything I’ve ever witnessed. Gone is the snoring Omega and standing in front of me is one that has very obviously been given a new chance at life. His movements are still a bit slow, Savin gritting his teeth every so often but it seems more out of frustration than pain.
Savin grins down as he stands by the kitchen island, stuffing a boiled egg into his mouth, Macon’s arms wrapped around his waist as the Alpha peppers kisses along his neck and shoulder. “Stahp! I’m trying to make little shapes out of these sandwiches. Do you think Carleen is going to kill me if I cut off the crust? Fuck, don’t tell her.”
It’s like night and day, watching them together. It’s even different from the night I first met them, both of them enjoying each other’s company, their scents strong and thick as they wrap around me. I can’t imagine how freeing this version of Savin is—especially for Macon who’s seen more bad days than good.
“She doesn’t have to know unless I tell her that you’re defiling her creations.” Macon chuckles, kissing his neck again before he halts and his attention turns to me. “Ellie, sweetheart. You look gorgeous.” Savin looks up from where he’s been using a cookie cutter to create cute sandwich cutouts before rushing over to me. It’s more of a slow walk, frustration building in his expression that he can’t move any faster. I still brace myself for when he throws himself at me, holding me tight against him.
“Goddess, you’re so pregnant. I love it. Imagine six months from now. Or when they’re running around? I can’t wait, angel,” he purrs in my ear, rocking me from side to side until I tap him to stop lest he makes me sick. Savin grabs my hand and leads me to one of the stools. I continue to watch him, confused about how one little syringe could change him so much. He’s still the same Savin but without the pain weighing him down. “Stop looking at me like that. It’s like I got a boost of energy. I’m sure it’ll wear off but I’m milking it for now.”
“What did your doctor say?” Savin doesn’t answer me so I look to Macon, worried that there’s an end date. “Alpha-”
“That his symptoms are normal. It’s a long-term medication, Ellie, so it’s more of a bandaid than a permanent solution. Maybe at some point in the future, they’ll discover something else but for now, as long as the medication is delivered on a schedule, there shouldn’t be any huge setbacks.” Macon’s gaze follows Savin who is delicately preparing a plate with his cookie-cutter sandwiches. “We take it one day at a time.”
Savin stumbles a step and then throws his hand up to keep us from worrying. “Just weak, not pain. I promise. It seems that it doesn’t help everything.” He shoots us a small smile before walking a plate around the counter and setting it in front of me. “I usually always cut off the crust. Don’t tell your sister. I just wanted to make you breakfast.” I can hear the words without him saying it. He wanted to do something while he still has his strength. I stare at the little cucumber star sandwiches, boiled eggs, and a few strips of bacon on the plate. “I’m not overexerting myself. I’m fine.” He gives me a small twirl which doesn’t really ease my worries so I point to the seat next to me.
“At least sit for me?”
“As you wish, angel.” He happily plops onto the stool and props his elbows up on the counter, watching me pop a sandwich into my mouth. Macon rounds the counter to grant me a firm hug, reminding me that he’s here as well. “Now can we talk about the future? I’m ready!” Savin is nearly vibrating out of his skin as Macon snorts at his lack of self-control.
“Maybe let’s let Ellie tell us what she envisions first?”
Savin grumbles but I’m all for that option. I stuff another sandwich into my mouth before figuring out the right words. “Alpha, you mentioned that this is my house too and… I would like that. If you’ll still have me.” Savin gives a resounding yes, a smile spreading across my Alpha’s lips. “I still have my classes and there’s only this semester left before I want to graduate.” Again, more yes’ meet my criteria. “I’m not sure I can still work at Euphoria right now but… I want to go back at some point.”
This is the part that I’m dreading. An Alpha who claims to be understanding then shows his possessive side. I should know better, though. Macon isn’t like that and Savin would enjoy every last minute as I dance in front of him. “Ellie, I’m not going to tell you what you can and can’t do. If I think it’s harmful to your health or the babies, I’ll step in. I agree with your decision to step back from Euphoria but only because you’ve been tired a lot lately and I don’t want anything to happen.” He kisses my head and points at the plate. “Eat. I have an emergency meeting that can’t wait, however, I’ll just be down the road.”
I twist around as Macon grabs some of the dishes and sticks them into the sink. “Wait, what if his heat starts?”
“Ellie, he’s currently in heat. I’ve told you before that it manifests differently than others. He’s conscious during most of it.” Macon returns to my side, laying a passionate kiss on my lips, his hands moving to my waist and his thumbs running along the curve of my belly.
I don’t understand any of these changes. I feel like I’ve been thrown in the deep end and I’m starting to drown. Yesterday, I understood how to take care of Savin, how to help him through his heat. Now, all of that has changed. What’s more, is that Macon is leaving. None of my training and what I know of Omegas is adding up.
“Alpha, I feel like I’m hearing some inside joke I don’t understand. It’s frustrating.” I fist my hands in his shirt, needing him to explain when Savin steps into the conversation.
“Ellie, my heats have always been abnormal. I don’t succumb to them the same way. I’m still out of it, I guess but it’s more of an absolute need to have my mates beside me, in me, etc. I’ve never wanted to be coddled and hovered around, even before my health issues. Macon has always gone to work until I need him. It makes me feel less… useless.”
My face contorts as I glare at him, searching those sea-glass eyes. “You’re not useless.”
Savin shrugs. “I know that but taking him away from his work when a cold shower will do just fine? It felt like I was being annoying. So I never called until I needed to. He’s always stayed close or been in the next room. He knows before I do when I need him. It just so happens that you’re here now.”
“So I can coddle you?”
“No, so I can fuck you until he gets home.” A wild grin splits his face, my anxiety settling again. Goddess, I’m a mess and I’m blaming the fact that I’m pregnant.
“You have such a way with words. Macon, are you sure you can’t stay?”
The Alpha straightens up, shaking his head. “I’d like to get this fixed as soon as possible. I’m meeting with some of the executives who are going to ban any contact with my mother under threat of police action. I have to sign a few papers to enforce it and I want to do it now before Savin needs both of us.”
He moves to kiss Savin the same way he did me, Savin taking his time to enjoy his Alpha. When his scent spikes, the Omega starting to perfume, I know that today is going to be filled with a lot of activities—none of them being schoolwork. I make a mental note to text my sister and Tati that I’ll be out of commission for a few days. The thought of spending those days in Savin’s nest excites me especially since I’ve seen how wild Savin was before the medicine.
By late afternoon, I’m bored. Savin passed out on the couch, falling into a peaceful sleep that he desperately needed. Macon left a list of symptoms that are 100% normal and I”ve memorized every last one. Sleeping a lot is one of them. Being dizzy or sluggish is another. I saw the second this morning, Savin frustrated that he couldn”t move faster. The sleeping, though, normal as it is makes the house so much quieter than I”ve been used to. Still, not wanting to wake him, I find myself wandering the hall and washing the bedding. One of the maids would be here at some point after Savin’s heat but I need something to occupy myself which includes getting my hands dirty.
However, that is only one load of laundry and even wiping down the counters in the kitchen doesn’t take long enough to steal my attention. I walk through each of my symptoms, groaning when I realize that somehow I’m weathering Savin’s heat just in a different capacity. Anxious and irritable, unable to sit still? That’s what my fucking Omega should be experiencing but no, he’s curled up in an adorable little ball on the couch, perfuming so heavily that everything smells like freshly baked pie.
I’m going to suffocate in this place.
If I don’t end up coming spontaneously first.
It’s then that I smell the first hint of Savin’s arousal, the slow whine of his cry turning my attention to him stumbling toward me. His eyes are pitch black with desire and need, the Omega giving me very little time before he rucks up my dress and presses up against my back. “Shit, Ellie. Just…” He bends me over the table, his hands moving furiously up and down my sides before the tip of his cock pushes inside of me.
I let out a guttural groan as he sinks into my pussy, Savin threading his fingers through one of my hands, splaying it across the counter while his other hand reaches in front of me to rub my clit. He plays with the piercing, furiously pumping inside of me. Savin comes seconds later, apologizing as he tries to bring me my own orgasm but I’m not far behind, milking his cock until his release is slipping down my thighs.
Savin steps backward, his chest heaving and I stand up, twisting around to see his skin flushed, his pupils dilated, and his cock already stiffening again. “Sorry, I just… well fuck, why aren’t you wearing panties?”
“Too many clothes to figure out. Let me text Macon.” I try to gather myself as I waddle over to my phone to keep Savin’s release from continuing to seep from me. I text Macon first and then Carleen, laughing when Savin drags me to the living room. I trip over the carpet, my beautiful Omega giving me very little time to right myself as he slides right back in.
This time he’s a little more in control, leaning down to kiss me, teasing my piercings as he fucks me. The squelch of his release eases the slide as I hold onto him, giggling when he flips us over so that I’m straddling his waist. His hands squeeze my thighs as he meets my eyes, his golden hair splayed across the carpet. “I’m okay. I just want to keep going and fuck if I’m going to miss this.” Savin’s eyes close for a moment, his perfume drugging my senses.
“Baby-”
“No, I just need a knot. But this is perfect.”
“When our Alpha gets here, you’re going to be all over him, aren’t you?”
“More fucking. Less talking.”
I comply, riding him until we come again. Fuck, he’s messy and yet I love it as I lean down to kiss him, our tongues dueling for dominance until six beeps pull me away from my little bubble of happiness. I sit up, worried that it’s not Macon at the door, waiting for it to open. But the door doesn’t budge. Instead the ‘wrong code’ sounds and then the six beeps come again. When the ”wrong code” sounds again, I’m sure that it’s no longer an accident.
That it isn’t one of the staff.
That it’s very likely the one woman I’ve vowed to murder if I see her again.
With all the strength I can muster, I push to my feet, Savin following as we scurry toward the nest. The next six beeps are followed by a chime, Savin pulling me into the garage, the closest door to shield us from Aalya. I lock the door behind us, unsure of what to do next when we climb into one of the cars there.
My heart is in my throat, Savin desperately trying not to touch me as we figure out what the fuck we’re supposed to do in this situation. I’m sitting in the driver’s seat, my hands on the wheel like we’re going to drive away somehow. Anyone with half a mind would pull us over, especially when I start swerving when Savin can’t keep his hands to himself.
“What the fuck is Aalya doing here?” I hiss, glaring at Savin. The Omega looks just as pissed as I feel, his fingers shaking over the screen in the car. He’s frantically trying and failing to press numbers on a dial pad before he looks to me for help. “What are you doing?”
“Macon’s number. Now. Fuck, my hands are shaking. Ellie, we need Macon.”
As much as I want to handle this shit by myself and storm in there, giving her a piece of my mind, I’m not in the right state to do so. I would do anything at this point to protect my Omega and our safe space. No, Macon needs to fucking handle this shit. I dial his number, mildly surprised that it works for a car that isn’t currently ‘on’, the phone picking up before even the first ring.
“Why are you two calling from the car? I can feel Savin. Ellie?”
“Right here.”
“What’s going on?”
“Your mother is in the fucking house.”
“Excuse me?”
I grit my teeth together, holding my breath so I don’t inhale Savin’s syrupy scent and let him fuck me right here with Macon on the phone. “Someone was playing with the keypad and they kept inputting the wrong code. It might not be her but they got in and we…” Savin whines, the slick sounds of him stroking himself meeting my ears. He’s whispering apologies, that he can’t help it. That he needs Macon’s knot. This situation can’t get much worse, can it? It’ll be funny a few months from now but fuck, it’s not funny now. “And Savin’s in heat. He needs you. We need you.”
“I’m around the fucking corner and you’re not wrong. It is my mother with another fucking Omega. Stay where you are. Do not get out of the car until I come get you.”
“Yes, Alpha. Just… fucking get her out of the house.”
Savin grunts, trying to hold himself back from coming all over the leather. “Alpha, I’m only staying put because you will no longer have a mother if I don”t.” I could kiss him for that but I refrain, needing an end to this. Granted, if Savin whines one more time, I’m going to melt into his arms so fucking fast.
We stay on the phone as Macon pulls up in the driveway, the sound of his car door slamming and then his heavy footsteps bursting into the house. “Care to fucking tell me why you’re in my house, Aalya?”
