Chapter 5

I was honestly a bit surprised when Dyronix actually managed to come and ask me out on a date. I thought it was never going to happen and it was quite cute because he did end up getting a bit flustered when I said yes to him. There was absolutely no reason for me to say no and I mean; he is really handsome. I am not normally interested in aliens but he's really sweet and what's the worst thing that could honestly happen? He doesn't seem like a bad guy at all and everyone that I have met has raved about him and how he's a strong warrior and never left anyone behind.

It was kind of crazy to see how much people respect him because there's absolutely no way that someone could like him that much and lie about it. So many people that I have asked about him ended up saying the same thing and how he doesn't just allow any woman into his life because he is strict on his traditions. It was kind of crazy to think about because there's no reason that it should even be the case, but he keeps proving me wrong. I kind of wondered if maybe I had judged him too quickly in the beginning when I considered him a stalker for a little bit, and he just didn't know how to tell me his feelings the correct way.

Don't get me wrong, he definitely should have went about it a completely different way, but I can't get too upset with him if he didn't know the way to do it. He ended up picking me up in a rover or something like that, opening the door for me, and letting me inside. It didn't have a top, but it was so big that he had to physically lift me up (like I weighed nothing, might I add) and put me in the seat. It was a bit embarrassing because no one has ever had to do that for me before but I'm not going to complain because he didn't. He looked really pleased with being able to do that for me and I couldn't burst his bubble.

I smile to myself as we pull in front of a beautiful home carved into the rock of the mountain, something that I had noticed with his kind. Although they can survive on land and in water, they seem to like to reside on land more. So many have built their homes in the rock and it's crazy to think that this was done all by hand and tools. According to what I have learned, it's a show of strength to attract a female's attention.

In a sense, he does have mine because why in the world would he think that this is something that a girl would be attracted to, but I can tell he doesn't actually care. He looks like he wants to keep doting on me and I'm going to allow him to do it because what's the worst thing that could end up happening. I keep wondering curiously if maybe I had made a mistake when allowing all of this to happen, but I don't believe that I did. If anything, I'm going to end up falling for him harder than I would have ever expected, and it will really surprise me.

Dyronix is a sweet guy, seeing how he comes around to help me out of the rover. He slips his hand into mine, much bigger than mine might I add, and leads me towards his home. It's really beautiful, aligned with jewels and shells, and I wonder how long it took him to make it look this nice.

"This home took me about six months to do." He tells me, a twinkle in his eyes because he looks really pleased with himself, "and it was a lot of hard work. Very few men have been in my home, only those that I have trusted, and no women unless they were already mated and such to my friends. I just want you to know that you are the first that I have decided to bring around here."

He looks very pleased with himself in that sense, and I wonder why it is such a big deal. Humans tend to have sexual relations even if we're not in a relationship with someone, but aliens seem to make it a bigger deal. I mean, I do understand that because they are probably wanting to reproduce with one person, but I don't get it either. I watch him curiously as I let these thoughts into my mind and just try not to think about it for much longer either. I mean, what's the worst thing that could end up happening? Just because I go into his home, it doesn't mean we are in a relationship.

Right?

I wonder for a split second if maybe I should have thought about this more, but it is too late. I'm being guided into his home and I'm immediately in awe. There is so much built furniture and décor on the inside, and the rock has a pretty look to it as well. He even has different rooms for different things, and I can't help but notice the giant bed that looks like it is made of furs and who knows what else. I don't know how he could do all of this, but I definitely have to commend him for it.

"Do you like it?" He asks me curiously, but I do notice how he doesn't look too sure.

"It's very nice." I admit to him, wondering how someone hasn't won him over yet, "It amazes me that you did all of this."

"I did have some help but the majority of it was done by me." He admits, his cheeks darkening a little bit and I know that this is his version of blushing, "but thank you. I did work really hard on this to be pleasing. I'm glad that you think so."

I wasn't sure what was going to happen after that, but I did know that I do want to see where this goes. I couldn't be completely certain of his intentions but the look in his eyes is all that he needed to tell me. I nervously lick my bottom lip, noticing that I have his attention there. Is he going to do it? I would be shocked if he did. I'm not sure if I like the look in his eyes, like he is going to gobble me up right here and now but what I didn't expect is when he leans in and gives me a soft kiss on the lips and almost immediately sends my heart racing with shock.

What the heck?

He pulls back away from me, and a small smile appears on his face, "just as I expected it to be."

I stared at him with wide eyes, wondering if I had just realized he had done that. I don't know what's going through his head and I don't know if I agree with it but something inside of me is screaming in the fact that I am on thin ice and he's going to do everything in his power to continue to drive me crazy.
