Chapter 6

THREE DAYS LATER

I adjust my tie and wait for May to come out of her room. When she does, I just about die. The little black dress she has on leaves little to the imagination. Is it just me, or are her boobs bigger? I know we typically eat every meal together, but this is different.

“Jesus, May. You look beautiful,” I say, swallowing thickly. I have to force myself not to adjust my cock. She’s all legs in those heels, and I want nothing more than to have them wrapped around my waist as I fuck into her over and over again while she screams my name. I was so gentle the first time we made love; I’ll worship her like she deserves the next time she lets me inside of her sweet pussy.

“Thank you. You look handsome. Where are we going?” she asks before kissing me on the cheek. She also adjusts my tie for me. There is something so domestic and hot about this move. I just did it myself, but the fact that she’d think to do it makes me fucking crazy.

“La Travis,” I say. The exclusive DC restaurant has been booked out for months, but I pulled some strings.

“How did you get reservations?”

“I may have said they were for the White House,” I tease.

“Logan!” She admonishes me, slapping my chest with her tiny, perfectly manicured hand. I wonder when she had time to get them done. I make sure she has some cash for whatever she needs. I am already her husband in every way. I’m ready for her to be my wife.

“What? We work at the White House,” I tell her, grinning. She doesn’t need to know that the Vitali’s own it too. It was easy to get us a table. They may be mobster and killers, but I don’t hate them for it, and I don’t know what that says about me or my future as a cop. They have already approached me about working for them once I’m a cop. I’d be set up for life. So would May. I’ve seriously been thinking about it.

“They are going to be pissed.”

“Eh, we’ll already be seated.”

“And if they don’t seat us?”

“I have a backup plan. You know I always have a backup plan.”

“I know you do,” she says, giggling.

Fuck, I love that giggle. I dream about that giggle. That giggle has gotten me through some of the worst times in my life.

The meal we have is lovely, but after dinner, we walk along the National Mall hand in hand. We haven’t done this since we moved here. We hated Baltimore, but I aged out of the system before she did. I practically kidnapped her to ensure her safety. There was no way in hell I was leaving her in that group home without me. We thrived, though. I was so fucking thankful they let her fall through the cracks with me. With GEDs in hand, we applied to colleges and were accepted. We’ll be paying student loans till we die, but we got the educations we both wanted. Back at home, I kiss her good night despite my need to claim her again. We have the rest of our lives for that.
