Table Teasing
Elijah
I rritation and possessiveness rip through me, and the urge to rip Liam to shreds consumes me. I don't fucking care if he's supposed to be my friend. He's trying to make a move on what's fucking mine.
I walk over, trying to control the blistering rage inside of me. Liam pales, stepping back, clearly realising he's pissed me off.
I take hold of Scarlett's arm. I pull her behind me roughly, not wanting him to even look at her. She winces at the force, trying to pull free, but I keep her in place behind me.
How dare he say she looks breathtaking!
"Get the fuck out of here," I hiss. Liam looks stunned, raising his hands in surrender.
"I'm sorry, El-Alpha. I didn't mean to offend you. I just came to invite you and Scarlett for-"
"I don't need an explanation," I growl, my Alpha aura rolling off me in waves.
Elijah, what is going on? he asks me through the mind-link.
Just fucking leave, I snarl.
I will for now, but I'll speak to you later.
He looks concerned, but at the same time, he can't defy me. Scarlett wrenches free from my death grip, massaging her arm as she steps out from behind me, casting me a scathing glare.
"Liam, I'll come. It sounds like fun. Mind if I ask Angela to join us?" Scarlett asks.
"Sure…" Liam answers, glancing at me. My eyes are cobalt blue as I glare at him menacingly.
"Great! Could you text the details to her? I don't have my phone and the way Elijah acts, I doubt he'd fill me in," she says pointedly, giving me a contemptuous look.
I glare at her. Why is she fucking agreeing with him?
Liam nods, bowing his head in submission to me before he steps back. "I apologise for angering you," he says quietly.
"He's just sensitive," Scarlett mutters irritably.
I clenched my jaw, knowing maybe I had come off as extreme.
I slam the door in my friend's face. Never have I been so pissed at any of my friends before this. "Don't you dare glare at me!" she snaps, her eyes flashing silver.
"Were you going to say something or allow him to continue to flirt with you?" I ask coldly, my eyebrows furrowing in a deep frown. "Or were you enjoying the attention?"
She clenches her jaw, and I see the flicker of shock and hurt in her eyes.
Fuck, rein it in, man.
I sigh, running a hand down my face. "I'm sorry," I mutter.
Scarlett simply shakes her head.
She's disappointed in me…
Turning, she walks off to the kitchen. "Scarlett! Fuck, at least listen!"
"Son, what did you do now?" Dad says, sighing heavily as he and Jessica appear at the top of the stairs. I glance at him, my eyes meeting his. He's mostly healed, but the memory of how I had slammed his head into the kitchen worktop returns. I frown, looking away as tension falls between us.
Yeah, I shouldn't have fucking done it, but he's fucking selfish.
"It's not your fucking business," I say, glaring at the pair. Jessica looks down and I turn away.
"Language, boy! I am still your father and Alpha!" Dad thunders warningly.
I smirk humourlessly.
"Want me to show you who's the Alpha again?" I ask arrogantly, cracking my knuckles. I hear someone's breath hitch and see Indigo behind them. She saw more than I fucking wanted earlier.
"Elijah, this is not a joke. Your attitude is just showing that you aren't even capable of being Alpha."
Dad's words only make my irritation rise.
"Don't test me," I growl. Before anyone can say anything else, the doorbell rings. Turning, I yank it open, not breaking eye contact with Dad.
"My, my, so much male testosterone going around. I feel like clomping you both over the head. If you're going to go at it like two whiny bulldogs, then take it outside!" Grandma Amelia says, giving Dad and me a disgusted look. "You both keep reminding me why I don't like the pair of you. Now, where's my girl?"
"Right here, Grandma Amy," Scarlett says, stepping out into the hall, a smile now on her stunning face. I feel a pang of hurt, noticing how she doesn't even look at me.
"Is it just me, or have you lost weight?" Grandma Amelia asks, pulling her into a tight hug. Scarlett smiles.
"I don't think I have."
"Well, those bra-stuffers of yours sure haven't," Grandma Amelia teases, making Scarlett touch her breasts and blush lightly.
"I'm the one who's been gone. Shouldn't I be the first to be greeted?" I ask with a charming smile.
She simply snorts. "What a shame it is that you have returned," she says before grabbing my face and giving me a kiss on both cheeks before she reaches up and pats my head, and I swear she did that to mess my hair up.
"Indigo, I hope you have been nice to your sister."
Indigo simply rolls her eyes but knows better than to argue. "What do you mean? I'm always nice."
"Don't roll your eyes at me. I know you aren't as innocent as you look."
Scarlett is the only one who is saved from Grandma Amelia's wrath. Everyone else will surely become a target at some point tonight. After she's finished meeting Dad and Jessica, we make our way to the lounge, where Scarlett has already placed a tray of refreshments and cold drinks.
"I hope the food's worth it. Seeing these two and their ugly mugs makes me want to keep my eyes glued shut."
"That's an idea, maybe glue your mouth too. We might not have to hear you then either," I say. She's annoying but I don't mind seeing her throw abuse at my old man.
"Elijah!" Dad warns, frowning at me as Indigo tries to stifle a giggle. Grandma Amelia raises a brow, giving me a dirty look.
"So, I heard the two of you went out of town," she says, picking up a glass. She now looks at me, and I wish I could mind-link Scarlett. She's still not looking at me, and I can tell when she's pissed at me. Now is definitely one of those times. "Cat got your tongue, boy?"
"No, but yeah, we were out of town, making some new alliances," I answer. Grandma Amelia cocks a brow.
"Oh? When a person explains, it means they're lying." Her eyes bore into mine before she turns to Scarlett, watching her sharply. "Care to share?"
"Elijah isn't wrong. We did go to make an alliance with another pack, but we also ran into some trouble. It's okay; it's under control. Excuse me, I'll just go bring the food to the table," Scarlett says as she turns and leaves the room, her sexy legs catching my attention. I look away, hoping no one caught me staring. It is hard to keep my hands and eyes off her.
"I'll help!" Indigo offers, jumping up. I raise an eyebrow, but she simply gives me a small smirk skipping out of the room. Either she didn't want Dad to tell me to help Red, or she was trying to get away from this old crone. I mean, I can't blame her either way.
A short while later, everyone is seated around the dining table. To my dismay, Scarlett is sitting next to Grandma Amelia. I end up taking the seat opposite her. At least I'll get a good view of those breasts.
The table is laden with a few different dishes. Scarlett had cooked up some pasta, quesadillas, fried chicken strips, and fries. Everyone is digging in and I teasingly brush my leg against hers. She gives me a scathing look, one that I return with a smirk. I follow up with a wink as I brush my ankle up her leg, making her nervous. She bites her lip, looking down at her plate as the adults talk.
I suddenly drop my spoon, letting out a curse before I move my chair back, going under the table.
"Careless oaf!" Grandma Amelia scolds.
"Shall I get it?" Indigo offers.
"Na, I got it," I say, a smirk on my face as I look at Scarlett's sexy, creamy thighs that are within reach. I move closer to her, firmly pushing her legs open. She tries to force them shut, but I am stronger. I place one soft kiss on her lace-covered pussy before I run my tongue along it, feeling her smooth pussy beneath my tongue.
Fuck, do I want to rip them off and devour her.
Her intoxicating scent makes me throb, my fingers brush her inner thighs teasingly before I move back reluctantly. Retrieving the spoon, I get out from under the table. A tiny smirk is on my face as I look at the light tinge of colour that paints her cheeks.
"What happened to your neck?" Grandma Amelia now asks sharply, staring at Scarlett.
Fuck, did she notice Scarlett acting strange? But the mention of Zidane's marking makes all thoughts of teasing her leave my mind.
Scarlett's face falls as she turns to look at Jessica and Dad, both of whom have their necks covered.
"I was forcefully marked," she answers quietly.
My eyes flash cobalt, my anger rising as the brutal reminder of what had happened flashes freshly through my mind. Grandma Amelia frowns, her face paling as Indigo gasps, her heart thumping.
"B-by who?" she asks with a shaking voice.
"And why would someone do that?" Grandma Amelia asks quietly.
"I guess because there's something different about me," Scarlett sighs.
"You mean special," Grandma Amelia corrects before she turns to me, a hard glare on her face as she forks some pasta into her mouth. "What sort of man are you that you let this happen? Or rather Alpha!"
A flash of guilt crosses my face, although it's nothing compared to the guilt I feel inside of me. I'm prepared for Indigo to say something similar, but she simply shakes her head at Grandma Amelia, but she's far too shocked to speak.
"Grandma Amy, don't blame him. Please. That's not fair. He saved me," Scarlett says defensively, placing a hand on the elder woman's arm. Grandma Amelia looks too surprised to speak at Scarlett's words before she looks between the two of us.
"I see a lot more has changed than you being marked…" she states, taking a bite of her chicken.
And I'm certain no one misses the way Scarlett's heart begins to race…
