MEREDITH
T hings have been better since my talk with Grizzly. I even texted Trap to tell him I'm sorry for pushing him away, and he's forgiven me. I try to spend time at the clubhouse, but it's so hard to be around all of them and Harlow without her getting suspicious. And so far, I haven't found another chance to be alone with my guys.
I think Addy is starting to suspect something, but she hasn't said anything to me. We're both standing in front of the bathroom mirror getting ready for the Halloween party that Greek Row is throwing. I've kept it a secret from the guys in hopes that they'll stay away and let me have some fun without them.
"Your costume is so hot, I love it," Addy says as she puts the finishing touches on her makeup.
"Yours is amazing too! You make a gorgeous fairy," I tell her as I spray my hair with hairspray.
I giggle as I look at us in the mirror. We're a mismatched pair—me in a leather jacket as a biker chick and Addy as a fairy. The alarm sounds on my phone, letting me know it's time to go. It's a short walk from our dorm to Greek Row and I can hear the music blaring from half a block away.
The party is in full swing by the time we get there, and the first thing we do is go to the kitchen and grab a drink. The music is blaring, and bodies are gyrating all over the place. There are people hiding in dark corners making out and others are climbing the stairs to find an empty bedroom. Seeing the couples pair off makes me miss my guys, but I'm also glad to have a break from them to just be with my friends.
Hours pass, and the party is still raging. Addy and I are a bit tipsy, but I'm not near drunk enough when the front door flies open and three tall men in masks walk through the door.
"Who are they?" Addy whispers in my ear as she stares them down.
"I have no idea," I reply as I eye them up and down.
Their eyes look familiar, behind the masks, but I'm not sure where I know them from. I find myself drawn to them, and I can't explain why. Our bodies meld together as we start dancing together. I meet Addy's gaze from across the room, surprised to see a look of disapproval on her face.
I focus back on the three strangers. As we dance, a pair of hands make their way to my hips. Those hands feel familiar on me.
Trap.
Fuck. They found me. How the hell did they find me here?
I shake my head and keep dancing as I feel another hand pinch my ass. "How did you guys find me here?" I whisper in Trap's ear.
"We have our ways, baby. Why didn't you tell us about the party? You know we're keeping a look out for the Bratva. You put yourself in too much danger when you don't tell us where you're going," he scolds me.
"I know, I know. I just wanted one night without being followed or texted. I didn't want to have to keep making excuses for your presence to Addy like I do every time you guys show up on campus," I admit to him.
I hear a low growl from one of the others and I can only assume it's Grizzly. I know it irritates him when I keep them out of the loop on things. I know they're only trying to protect me, it just gets old sometimes. We continue dancing and Addy keeps shooting me looks from across the room. I don't know what I'm going to tell her when the night is over, but I'm going to have to think of something—and fast.
