CHAPTER FIFTY
C raig paced the driveway beside Brianna’s car. Thank fuck it was evening.
Hurry the fuck up!
He’d telepathed Brayden as soon as he’d been advised of Brianna’s arrival.
We’re coming, but fuck, Willow has just woken up.
Jesus.
Five minutes. Keep her, um, occupied. Not with your dick.
He rolled his eyes.
“Craig! Where. Is. Willow?” Brianna shouted again. “I am not leaving until I see her.”
Yeah, well, he guessed she hadn’t flown across the country, hired a car, and driven here just to be waved off.
What a complete fuck up.
“She’s on her way.”
“What, are you psychic or something?”
He narrowed his eyes in confusion. Oh. He’d used telepathy and hadn’t, as far as Brianna was concerned, made any effort to call anyone. “I texted Brayden on my way down.”
Brianna reached into her car and pulled out her handbag. “Great. Let’s go inside.”
“No! No, ah, no,” he said a little too fast. “Let’s just wait out here.”
She tugged her arms around her. “Fine. I’ll stand out here and freeze to death.”
“Don’t you have a jacket?” he asked, receiving a raised eyebrow in return for his unhelpful effort.
“What is this place?” she asked, spinning around, taking in the enormous castle. No wonder she was cold, he thought, staring down at her short skirt. She had thin tights on which showed off all the curves and arches of her lovely legs.
Cough.
Just legs.
“Brianna, how did you find us?”
When she looked back at him, her eyes burned with mistrust. “Why? What’s going on? Where is Willow and why hasn’t she returned my calls for over two weeks?”
He shrugged. “I don’t know chick stuff.”
“Don’t lie to me, Craig. Something is going on. If you must know, I had her phone traced by a friend in the LAPD.”
He frowned. “Isn’t that illegal?”
She lifted a shoulder. “He’s a friend, like I said.”
He took a step forward. “Are you sleeping with this friend ?”
Craig had to give her credit; she held her own, not stepping away.
“If I am, it’s none of your business.”
His jaw clenched.
“Bri!” Willow came flying out of the castle, looking fucking incredible.
Vampire looked good on her.
“Where the hell have you been?!” Brianna yelled.
As the two girls neared each other, Craig stepped back, then saw Brayden’s face and realized the mistake his mate was about to make.
Craig stepped in front of Brianna and caught Willow before the new powerful vampire crushed her friend.
Realization lined her face and her mouth opened.
“Would you get the freaking heck out of the way, you big damn...ugh!” Brianna said, pushing and prodding at him.
Willow grinned and wound around him, hugging her friend. Gently.
“Fuck, thanks, man,” Brayden said, rubbing his forehead.
Craig ran a hand over his short hair and walked over to stand beside the prince.
“What the fuck do we do now?”
