Chapter 46

I tookone more look around to make sure no one was around. The building's roof offered a clear view of the moon. "Dear Lady, hear my prayer," I began. "I am one of your subjects, Bredon Redd, and I need your guidance."

Nothing.

I closed my eyes and prepared to begin again. My wolf was uneasy with me blocking our vision, but it would help me be more centered. "Goddess, I beg for your help. My mate is dying, and I do not know how to help her."

The night went silent. I could no longer hear the sounds of the city in the background.

Suddenly, I was freefalling with a roar in my ears. Then, everything went black.

I woke with a start. My heart was beating wildly, and my wolf was frantically looking for an enemy. As I slowly calmed down, I noted that I was in a different place. It was a meadow, but I knew of none like this.

The flowers growing in the field were bright, nearly neon in color. The leaves on the trees were a bright green that seemed to glow.

"Where am I?" I asked aloud.

"You requested an audience, Bredon Redd, servant to the Redd Pack," The voice seemed to surround me. It made my chest vibrate with each word.

This was the Lady's Plane? I looked around in awe.

I then realized that I should not waste the moment. "Thank you, Goddess, for your time." I dropped to my knee and bowed my head.

"Rise, Child," She ordered. "What is your request?"

I did waste a moment. I began to explain.
