Bonjour, beautiful stardust beings! And if you're a new Celestial Circle member, welcome! You can expect weekly newsletters from yours truly covering timely astrological events and deep dives into what the planets can tell us about ourselves and our world.
I trust that you're all setting your intentions for the next four weeks just in time for tonight's new moon in Aries. Find my tips for working with the energy of the moon phases on my website.
Now that the moon is making its own fresh start in the first sign of the zodiac, it's the perfect time to discuss the life cycle of astrology. This is one of my favorite windows into understanding the stars and the flavor each sign brings to the great gumbo pot of humanity.
Each sign is associated with its own age—not of the body, but of the soul. Starting with newborn Aries, the ages run in order through Pisces at the end of life. Now, I trust y'all astro darlings know that there are people of all ages in each sun sign. But perhaps you've met a child that seems too wise for their years or a senior citizen with spry, childlike energy. That magic spark inside each of us has an age that doesn't necessarily match our driver's license.
Let's take a look at the spiritual age of each of the signs, shall we?
Aries are the infants of the zodiac, opening their eyes to find a whole new world to explore. They take on any challenge with a sense of wonder and joy, wiggling toward what they want and grasping at it with their chubby little baby hands. Even when they're rushing headlong into a bad decision, you can't help but find them adorable.
Tauruses are one-year-olds, learning to crawl and then walk, determined to figure out how to get around on their own. Home and family are their safe place to explore. They're discovering what they like—and what they don't like. Don't rush them, because if they fall, they'll scream.
Geminis bring all the charm and frustrations of a child in their terrible twos. Curious and difficult to control, they seem to have their hands in everything, so much so that you wonder if there's secretly two of them. But their wit and creativity make it tough to stay mad at them for long.
Elementary-school-aged Cancers are just beginning to understand the big outside world. They're most comfortable at home around family, and they can have an emotional reaction to being taken out of their safe zone. But they've also got a playground energy full of childlike joy.
Just like teenagers, Leos are bold, audacious, and sometimes a bit self-centered. Confidence comes naturally to them, so don't you dare try telling them what to do. They spend a lot of time styling their hair and selecting their outfits, but they're not all vanity. They also make loyal friends and are quick to defend their loved ones.
Conscientious Virgos are in their early twenties, writing their own rules for existing in the world. They don't look to others to take care of their problems; the power to find solutions is inside themselves. But also like a twentysomething, they struggle to accept help when it's offered.
Libras represent maturation into adulthood with all its attendant responsibilities and pressures. Like their symbol of the scales, Libras seek fairness and balance. Some may perceive these tendencies as people-pleasing. But really, Libras know it helps to have friends on your side.
Falling in the midthirties, Scorpios have grown a bit of a shell that can be hard to crack. They've been around long enough to have higher standards for themselves and the people around them, and they don't forgive easily. But once you get past that scorpion exoskeleton, they're secretly softies on the inside.
Sagittariuses inhabit a just-over-the-hill middle age. They know life is short, and it's time to start checking things off their bucket list. That's why the archer loves seeing the sights and traveling off the beaten path. They're straight shooters who don't coddle anyone, but you know you'll always get their honest opinion.
Nearing their sixties, Capricorns put career front and center, feeling they have limited time to reach their goals and build a legacy. They're driven by status and want others to recognize their success. When not working, Capricorns prioritize family above all else. Mess with their loved ones and you'll get the sea goat horns.
Aquariuses are the recent retirees of the zodiac, no longer concerned with being taken seriously and more interested in living their best lives. That's not to say they don't care about others; they truly want to make the world a better place. But they certainly don't care what society considers "cool" and prefer being lovable weirdos.
Like people at the end of a long life, Pisces know what really matters. They are the most emotionally intelligent of the signs. They're also prone to nostalgia and can write a birthday card message that will bring you to tears. If you want sage advice on life's biggest questions, try asking a Pisces to join you for a cup of tea.
