5. Mack

Chapter 5

When I walked out of my meeting with Steve, I felt like a completely different person. Not only did he have a ridiculously successful milk-based skin care line that impressed the hell out of me, but when I mentioned that I'd had an appointment with Dr. Billings, he told me Caleb was a good friend of his and a customer.

At first, I wondered if that was confidential information that maybe Dr. Billings wouldn't want shared, but then I realized it was something Steve was sharing with me specifically and not something he would tell just anybody. So when he gave me Caleb's number and said I should meet with him outside of the hospital, I decided to trust his judgment and go for it.

Truthfully, I didn't think the attractive doctor would be interested. He met with guys like me every day, and if milk was truly something he was attracted to, there were a lot better options than me.

At least, I assumed so. Steve was pretty hot in a meathead kind of way, but he also seemed like a good guy and someone I could confide in, so I trusted that he wouldn't put me or his friend in an uncomfortable situation.

So when Caleb not only agreed to let me pick him up but hearted my response—twice—my whole outlook on life took a one-hundred-and-eighty-degree spin.

Caleb lived in a gated community, which was no surprise. As a very successful doctor, I expected nothing short of a McMansion, which he had. But it wasn't as pretentious as most of the others in the community.

His actually had a little bit of traditional charm to it.

I pulled up into the circular driveway and stopped right out front, assuming we wouldn't be staying long. I made reservations at a Michelin-starred Italian restaurant that was reviewed as great for date night.

I wasn't sure what I expected from this particular date, but I wanted to set myself up with every advantage. If Caleb was into me, that was awesome. If he wasn't interested in anything beyond a friendship, I was okay with that too. Kinda. And if he truly wanted nothing more than a professional relationship, well, I'd be disappointed, but he was obviously willing to speak openly if he agreed to dinner. If nothing else, at least I could get some additional perspective.

Steve gave me a lot of great information to consider from his point of view as a Daddy Dom. But Caleb had also hinted directly to me that he liked milk and found it to be sexy.

I was joking when I told Steve about the flippant remark, but he confirmed that Caleb was a client who liked to be Little, so I knew I had to take his advice and get more hands-on experience.

Surgery was a big decision, and although I thought my mind had been completely set on doing it, I was quickly realizing that maybe I had some more research to do.

The doorbell camera lit up as I approached his front door, and I ducked down a bit to face it and waved. "Hi, Caleb. It's me."

To be sure he heard, I also rang the bell. I had the same doorbell camera at my house, and unless my phone was in my hand, I usually didn't hear the alert when someone approached.

"Coming," he said through the device. "I mean, come in. I'll be down in a second."

I took a deep breath and then opened his front door. Instinctively, I frowned at the fact that it was unlocked, but I appreciated that he trusted me enough to let myself into his home. At least he didn't think I was a serial killer. Although, with no reason to think I wasn't, we would need to have a talk about his home-safety habits.

I stepped into the foyer and closed the door behind me as I took a look around. Much like the outside, the interior was very homey. Comfortable and almost…playful. Bright and colorful framed art adorned the walls, and I wasn't sure if they were painted by an eccentric artist or a creative five-year-old. Either way, I loved the whole vibe.

There were also some collectable items from cartoons of my youth, as well as some current pop trends. I almost wondered if the doctor had kids, but I felt like Steve would have mentioned that if it were the case.

Caleb bounded down the stairs a moment later, landing in front of me with the hop. He was in jeans, a thermal Henley, and hightops. "Is this okay, or should I dress more formally? I didn't know what you had in mind, so I went with casual."

"You look perfect. I have reservations at Italiana, but they don't have a dress code, and I think you look great."

Caleb frowned and put his hands on his hips. "I should change. That place is pretty nice."

I cocked my head and looked right into his eyes. "You look amazing. Change if you're gonna feel self-conscious, but I think you look great."

He held up a finger and then ran back up the stairs. A moment later, he returned with a sweater draped over his arm. "Last time I was there, it was pretty chilly, and this is real Peruvian alpaca, so it should be fine."
