Epilogue Two Grayson

I t's that time again. My little girl's birthday. I swallow as I watch my twelve year old daughter giggle and pick up the gift and shake it. At her mom's insistence of course. The little troublemaker.

Raine practically dances as she sings happy birthday to little Evie. The two of them are the light of my life. After we had Evie, when Raine was in labor, we found out that Raine had a problem that could cause her to suffer a stroke during labor.

So that meant that we were done. Our house and hearts were full with our daughter and we didn't regret having more kids for one minute.

But that doesn't mean that we haven't had more children. Both of us were interested in fostering children and we did. We had so much fun that when we had the opportunity, we adopted a boy. He was ten when we adopted him and had had a rough life. As Evie's big brother, he's been a driving force in taking care of her at home and school. He adores her.

Raine dances over to me and shakes her ass in my face, taunting me. I growl, "Don't tempt me, little girl. You're gonna pay for all that sass later."

"Promises, promises."

It's not a promise and she knows it. It's a fact. I've always done exactly what I said I was gonna do.

But I glance away when I see another boy around the same age as Evie hanging around her and smiling like an idiot. My smirk immediately fades away.

"He's cute," Raine says, giggling.

"She's too young for a boyfriend and if you encourage something like this, I'm gonna have to put a stop to it."

She leans over, her fingertips dancing along my jaw where it's clenched.

"I love it when you get all alpha, baby."

I hug her tight and hide my smile in her throat. No matter how much I hate the idea of my daughter and any guy, I cannot be mad when Raine hugs me. When she smiles at me my whole soul lights up.

I have got every damn thing I ever thought I could never have and it's all thanks to this tiny woman and her smiles and giggles and laughter.

And love. So much love. I'll never be able to show her how much that unceasing love means to me.

But I'll damn sure spend my life trying.
