Chapter Nineteen

Cash

"E verything good?" Trick asks as we take all the turns that Ryan does.

Jensen chuckles, "Yeah, he's shitting himself and has no idea what we're doing."

"It's making him really fucking twitchy," I add.

Rafe chuckles and signs, "Good, that's what we want."

"It doesn't help that Jensen flashed him one of his knives," I add with a smirk.

Jensen shakes his head, "That definitely wasn't what terrified him, Cash did his blank scary stare."

Trick grins, "Yeah, that'll do it."

The car falls silent as we continue to follow him, and it's not long until they pull into the parking lot of a park and all get out. We park a few spaces down from them, but there's absolutely no doubt that he sees us.

"Are we getting out?" Rafe asks.

Trick nods, "Yeah, we may as well; we want him to know that we're still here."

We spend the rest of the day keeping a close eye on him in the park. He doesn't really do much else, and the guys that he's hanging around with don't notice us, despite having spoken to Jensen and me in the store, it just goes to show how unobservant the average person is. At one point, Jensen gets bored enough that he starts cleaning his fingernails with one of his knives, which seems to absolutely terrify Ryan, and gives Jensen a kick. We have to remind him that he really shouldn't be doing that in a public park though, and he reluctantly puts it away.

Eventually, they leave, and we follow as Ryan drops all of his friends at their houses. He doesn't try to drive us around in a loop, trying to lose us. I guess that he's figured by this point that we already know where he lives, and there wouldn't be that much point in trying to evade us. That, or he's so on edge that he's not thinking properly and just wants to get home to his false sense of security.

As he pulls into his driveway, another car now parked there as well, we slow down and drive past at a snail's pace, making sure that he gets one more look at us before Trick puts his foot down, and we speed up to the normal speed and head home.

"Well, I think that was a rather successful day," Riot grins.

Rafe grunts in agreement and then signs, "Food?"

"Oh hell yeah, I'm starving. Let's stop on the way back and pick something up." Jensen agrees immediately and then eyes Rafe suspiciously, "You're not hiding any more of those brownies in that bag of yours, are you?"

Rafe chuckles, shaking his head and signing "No."

Jensen narrows his eyes, but obviously decides that it's not worth it to try and wrestle the bag off of Rafe, and that he could end up being on the receiving end of a punch if he does try, so he lets it go. However, he does glance at Rafe's bag every now and then suspiciously like he's contemplating whether a smack would be worth it. Rafe is more than aware of Jensen; but he just sits there with a smile on his face, looking highly amused.

We've just got our food and are back on the road again when my phone buzzes, and I pull it out of my pocket, reading over it quickly before I interrupt the conversation Riot and Luc are having.

"Guys, Trev just messaged me, he said, sorry for the late reply. I was trying to locate everyone; Billy is out of town until Monday, but the others are all together at a party they're throwing at Lucky's place." I read it to them.

"Can you double-check that they're all going to be there?" Trick asks me.

"Sure," I reply and quickly type out a text. Trev replies immediately, "He says that they are, everyone apart from Billy. He then said, ‘this isn't something that I want to know about, is it?'"

The guys chuckle, and Jensen says, "He's his own worst enemy."

"Tell him thanks," Trick replies.

I nod and type out a reply.

Me: Thanks, man. We appreciate it. No, it's not something that you want to know about. Stay out, man.

Trev: It's harder than I thought it was going to be; it turns out I kind of like it. You are right though, do me a favor and give me a smack if it looks like I'm stepping back in?

Me: You got it, man, don't worry, we won't let you back.

Trev: Thanks.

"Alright, what's the plan?" Luc asks, "I'm thinking that we want to get this sorted out before Billy comes back on Monday, they all pay more attention when he's around and we're less likely to be able to follow Boyd without being noticed."

"Yeah, I think you're probably right," Trick agrees.

"So, we do what we planned to do then. Some of us go to the party and keep an eye on Boyd. Hopefully, he'll prove us right or leave and lead us to somewhere significant, and the rest of us can go and check out that address since we want to get everything sorted and tied up with a neat little bow before Billy gets back on Monday," Riot suggests.

Jensen shrugs, "That sounds good to me. I'll go to the party, Cash and Luc, do you want to come with me?"

"Yeah," Luc replies.

"I'm good with that," I say and look at the others, "are you guys all good with going to the address?"

Trick nods, "Yeah. That sounds good to me. We should probably pick up our other cars from the yard, though; we don't want any of our usual cars to be recognized and anything to be brought back to us."

"Good point." I agree, not having thought of that. "Are we going straight to the party and the address, or are we going home first?"

"By the time we get back to town, it's going to be quite late, so we may as well just head straight to the yard, switch the cars out, and then head to where we're supposed to be," Riot suggests.

"Everyone is armed and prepared. We can at least get a look at what we're dealing with, if there is anything at the address, and if Boyd leads us somewhere, which hopefully he will; otherwise, we're going to have to come up with a plan B." Rafe signs.

"Does anyone have an idea of what plan B could be?" I ask, since we should probably know what the backup is now, especially as plan A rarely ever actually works.

Jensen grins and says one word, "Kidnap."

"Care to elaborate?" Trick asks when Jensen just carries on grinning and looks at us expectantly.

Jensen frowns, "It's pretty self-explanatory; I say if we get nowhere tonight, we kidnap Boyd and make him tell us everything that we need to know tomorrow."

I raise my eyebrows slightly as I consider it, "It's not a bad plan. I'm happy to call that plan B."

"All agreed?" Trick asks, and everyone voices their agreement, "Well, okay then, if things don't go to plan tonight, then we kidnap Boyd tomorrow."

"I kind of hope things don't go to plan tonight," Jensen mutters.

"Of course you do," Luc replies, sounding more amused than worried.

We finish the rest of our food and pretty much stay in our own worlds for the rest of the drive until we get to the yard where we store our other cars. As we all hop out, Jensen, Luc, and I head to one of the cars. Trick calls out to make us stop.

"I want regular updates at the usual frequency, please. This could get dangerous pretty fucking quickly, and if it looks like it's going to be more dangerous than we've got the capacity to deal with right now, then we fall back, and we'll either go with plan B or come up with some other way to get this drug out of our town," he orders his expression severe.

"Got it," I reply, and then add, because he still looks worried, "We've got this; it's nothing compared to some of the things that we've done."

Trick's expression clears slightly, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

"Of course I am," I smirk as I get into the driving seat, everyone else getting into the cars as well.

"This is going to be fun," Jensen says excitedly, bouncing up and down in his seat. I share a look with Luc.

"No one should be that excited to put themselves in potential danger," Luc grins.

Jensen snorts and flips him off, "Fuck off, you know you're just as excited as I am. You're just better at hiding it than me."

"He's got you there," I agree with Jensen, earning myself a fuck off from Luc even though he knows we're right.
