Chapter 8: Griffin

GRIFFIN

" I feel like I know you." I admit, and then immediately worried my declaration will freak her out. Because it's freaking me out.

She smiles and steps forward, resting her small hand on my chest, seemingly unsurprised by the words I thought would have her shoving me out the door.

Instead, the air around us crackles with sexual tension, making my skin tingle.

When I look at Kali's flushed cheeks and parted lips, I know I'm not the only one who feels it. Just the smell of her is making me hard, and even though I know I shouldn't be here, I can't force myself to leave.

"Griffin."

I reach out, brushing my thumb across her glossy lips, giving her one last chance to tell me to leave. To stop me, before I do something we might both regret.

She doesn't.

Instead, she closes her eyes and sighs, standing before me, completely open and vulnerable.

I lean down and kiss her, licking across the seam of her lips. Her flavour blooms in my mouth. It's the best thing I've ever tasted, and I want more. I've never felt so desperate for something in my life. It's making me bold. Brushing my lips lightly across hers again, our breath mingles, and the gap between us closes further to bare millimetres.

She doesn't edge away.

The darkness inside me is still for once, watching and waiting.

Fighting to keep control, I wrap her long, blonde braid around my hand and tug her head to the side, watching to see her reaction to my slight roughness.

Her pupils darken, and I swallow hard.

She loves it.

I slide my lips along her jaw as I ask, "Do you want me to stop?"

Subtly shaking her head, she flushes adorably, and it makes me want her even more. She has no clue the desperation I feel for her.

This can't be normal. I'm not normal. But as I trail my lips along her jaw toward that sensitive spot behind her ear, and she squirms against me, I don't care. I take her lips in a more desperate, frantic kiss, my restraint slipping.

Both her breathy moans and the way she clings to me gives me permission to take things up a notch, so I wrap an arm around her waist and haul her tightly against me, loving the feel of her luscious body pressed to mine.

My leg slips between hers, and I curse when she grinds against my thigh.

Finally needing air, we pull apart reluctantly, hearts pounding. Staring into each other's eyes, I'm awe-struck as Kali rubs herself against my leg, panting and mewling softly. Her eyes shimmer, dancing with the flicker of the firelight. She's drunk on lust, and sexier than any woman I've ever seen.

"Kali?" I lift her face to mine, watching her expression closely, as I tuck a loose strand of blonde hair behind her ear. "I want to touch you. Taste you."

My fingers land on her hips and tighten, afraid she'll disappear if I let her go.

"I've never needed anything so badly in my life. I don't know what it is…"My voice is barely more than a growl as I trail off, struggling to explain with words.

Instead, I duck my head to the side and kiss her neck, licking and nibbling my way up to her earlobe, giving it a sharp nip before trailing kisses along her jaw.

"Please, Kali. Tell me I can have you."
