I don’t want her having friends. I don’t want her hanging out with anyone but us. I’m certainly not about to let any boys go near her. I’m going to have to get hold of all of her class lists and vet who’s in them.
I may need my father to step in and ensure there’s no silly ‘boy-girl’ seating plans. If possible I’ll get her male teachers switched out too. I don”t want anyone looking at what’s mine. Don’t even get me started on group projects…
Things weren’t this complicated at our old school. But she wants a friend, and as much as I loathe the idea, I actually can’t stand the thought of her being alone and miserable.
So I need to find her someone to be friends with. Just one. A single, reliable, loyal girlfriend who will tick her boxes and mine.
My main box?
Finding someone who won’t take her away from me.
