26. Carly
Her bottom was on fire, but she felt freer than she had felt in years. Years of pent-up emotions poured out of her as she snuggled against Damian’s chest. She had never felt so protected and safe with a man, and after James, she hadn’t thought she would ever feel that way. Not until Damian came along.
She knew she needed to work on not jumping to the worst conclusion. It would take time, and she hoped he would be patient with her until she felt more secure in their relationship. Although, she had an inkling that she would probably find herself over his lap to remind her of their dynamic and his feelings for her whenever she doubted their relationship.
Holding a tissue up to her face, Damian wiped her tears and then her nose. Not that it helped. She was crying ugly tears, and her nose was a snotty mess. He quickly grabbed more tissues and wiped her face again.
“Good girl, baby. Let Daddy take care of you,” he cooed.
His voice was gentle, like a lullaby that soothed everything inside of her, and even though her bottom stung as though a thousand bees had attacked it, she felt calm. Her hard sobs turned into hiccups and whimpers, and Damian rocked her through it all.
When she had finally calmed down completely, she felt stripped of all her walls, and it felt amazing. It felt as though she and Damian were starting fresh. They had both declared their love for each other, and he made it perfectly clear that she was his. It was wonderful.
“How’s my girl?”
She looked up at him and smiled. Her face was probably red and blotchy, but he still looked at her as though she was the most beautiful thing he had ever laid eyes on.
“I’m good, Daddy. How are you?”
He grinned, “I have you, so I’m in heaven.”
Sheesh. The man could sure say some very sweet things.
“I love you, Daddy. I’m sorry I put myself in danger.”
“I forgive you, baby doll. Please just listen to me in the future when it comes to your safety. My heart can’t handle seeing you in a dangerous situation.”
Carly nodded and wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling herself up enough so that she could kiss him. When she leaned in toward his mouth, she breathed in his masculine smell and reactively squeezed her thighs together. How was it possible that a spanking and the scent of her Daddy could get her so turned on?
Damian met her the rest of the way, pressing his lips to hers. He kissed her deeply as he held her against him, and when their mouths parted, they were both panting for air. Carly stared at him in silence for several minutes, and it felt as though their souls were speaking to each other. She had no idea that two people could connect so deeply, even in silence.
“Coffee? Then go break Nash out of the hospital?” he finally asked.
She nodded and went to climb off of his lap, but he wrapped his hands around her hips and held her in place. When she stopped wiggling, he lifted her up and set her down on the bed.
“Stay there. Daddy wants to dress you.”
A blush spread across her cheeks. It was probably silly that she loved Damian taking care of such simple things for her, but she did, and it brought her Little to the surface. He brought over several pieces of clothing to the bed and stood at the edge, smiling down at her.
“Lay back for me.”
She obeyed and lay back on the bed. Holding up a pair of yellow cotton panties with white polka dots, he threaded her feet through the material and pulled them up her legs, settling them on her hips. Holding out his hand for her to grab, he helped her sit up and then held up a cotton bralette. She had insisted that she wear some kind of bra when they went out, so he had bought her a bunch of bralettes that still made her feel Little.
He dropped a cotton swing dress over her head that came down to mid-thigh and then added a jean jacket to go with it. It was cute, girly, and best of all, it was comfortable. Kneeling before her, he slid on a pair of plain white Converse sneakers and tied the laces for her.
“Go brush your teeth and go potty while I get dressed, and then I’ll come in and do your hair.”
He helped her up from the bed and swatted her bottom as she walked past him, causing her to yelp and rub her still tender flesh.
“No rubbing,” he said firmly.
By the time they were in his Jeep driving toward the hospital, they had already had a cup of coffee, and Damian had forced her to eat some cut-up fruit and toast.
Carly felt a bit nervous about visiting Nash. She had been so mean to him and then he got shot while protecting her. Damian noticed her picking at her cuticles and reached over and wrapped his hand around both of hers.
“You don’t need to be anxious, baby girl. Everything is going to be fine.”
She frowned and looked over at Damian.
“What if he hates me? What if he’s hurt really bad?”
Damian chuckled, “Baby girl, Nash is one of the toughest men I know. Even if he were hurt really bad, he would push through it because that’s just how Nash is. And he won’t hate you. Nash is a Daddy too. He understands that Littles say things they don’t mean sometimes. Just apologize to him, and I’m sure he will just adore you.”
His words were reassuring, but she still felt nervous, and the ride felt like it took forever. When they finally got to the hospital, Damian led her inside and seemed to know exactly where to go.
“How do you know where to go?”
He looked down at her and hesitated before he answered her.
“In my line of work, I’ve visited my guys in the hospital on many occasions.”
Her eyes widened, and she bit the inside of her cheek, but she couldn’t stop herself before she asked the next question. She needed to know.
“Have you had to come here because you’ve gotten hurt?”
Damian stopped and turned toward her, rubbing his hands up and down her arms.
“Yes. I have, baby girl. But I am just as tough as Nash, and if anything were to ever happen to me, I would make sure you are taken care of. I need you to trust that I know what I’m doing, though, and trust that I am going to come home to you every night. Okay?”
She thought about that for a moment, and when she looked up into his gaze, she understood that he needed her not to worry. He needed to know that she supported him.
“Okay, Daddy. I trust you.”
Grabbing her hand again, he brought it up to his mouth and kissed the back of her hand.
“Thank you, baby. Come on.”
Lightly knocking on the door, Damian opened it and stepped inside with Carly trailing right behind. Nash was lying on the hospital bed, scowling.
“It’s about damn time. Get me out of here. I am going insane,” he moaned.
Damian chuckled, and Carly looked at him with uncertainty. It was her fault that he was stuck in bed, and he was upset about it. Nash must have noticed her expression because his face softened, and he smiled at her.
“Hey, little bit.”
She smiled back shyly.
“Hi.”
“I’m glad to see you here. I was worried about you last night,” he said softly.
Carly’s eyebrows furrowed, and she stepped forward slightly.
“You were… worried about me? You were shot.”
He shrugged, “It’s just a flesh wound, little bit. What’s more important is that you’re safe. Are you doing okay?”
Swallowing the lump that was forming in her throat, Carly looked up at Damian and then back at Nash and burst into tears. Nash and Damian looked at each other with alarm.
“Baby doll, what’s wrong?”
Wiping at her eyes with the back of her hand, Carly tried to get herself under control.
“I’m such a bitch. He’s been worried about me all night, and he got shot all because of me.”
“Little bit, come here. Now,” Nash said firmly.
Her attention immediately went to the man, and when she glanced up at Damian, he nodded and pushed her forward. Slowly, she walked over to the edge of the bed. He reached out for her hand and pulled her until she was sitting down next to him.
“Look at me.”
Lifting her gaze to Nash, she waited nervously for what he was going to say.
“First of all, you are not a bitch, and I’m pretty sure that calling yourself names or putting yourself down is against your Daddy’s rules. Am I right?”
She looked back at Damian, who raised his eyebrows. Turning back to Nash, she nodded sadly.
“That’s what I thought. I don’t want you to talk badly about yourself either because I already know you are too sweet and kind to be anything close to a bitch. Secondly, I didn’t get shot because of you. I got shot because of some assholes who were after you. And I would get shot a million more times if it means that you are safe. Okay?”
Carly nodded, “I’m so sorry I said such mean things to you last night.”
He grinned and pulled her closer until he was able to wrap his arm around her in a hug.
“Thank you for your apology, little bit. You’re a good girl.”
When Nash released her, and she stood from the bed, he threw the blankets back and started pulling at the lines in his arms, causing machines to start beeping wildly.
“Now, let’s get the fuck out of here.”
Damian laughed as a nurse came rushing in. When she tried to get Nash to lay back down, he shook his head.
“Get me the papers I need to sign myself out. I’m leaving whether you get them to me or not so I suggest you hurry up.”
The nurse looked frazzled, and when she looked at Damian, he shrugged. As she walked out of the room, Carly was sure she heard the woman muttering something about men being the worst patients ever.
Nash grinned and started pulling on his clothes before he pulled off the ugly hospital gown. Carly blushed when she saw his tattooed chest and turned away from him. Damian chuckled and swatted her bottom.
“Naughty girl, looking at other men.”
“Daddy!” she squealed.
Both men laughed and shook their heads.
“Just teasing you, baby doll.”
She grinned over at her Daddy and stuck her tongue out at him making his smile widen.
“Okay, let’s get the hell out of here before another nurse comes in and tries to handcuff me to the bed. Where’s my truck?”
“I had one of the guys come get it and drive it to your house.”
Nash nodded and put his arm over Carly’s shoulders.
“Take me home, little bit.”
Carly smiled up at him and blushed. She loved her Daddy, but she couldn’t deny how handsome Nash was.
“I’m not really into three ways, but for you…”
Damian’s eyes widened, and Nash looked down at her in shock. Carly burst out laughing.
“I’m kidding! Sheesh! Calm down, guys.”
Nash looked thoroughly amused while Damian growled and mumbled something about spanking her bratty ass when they got home.
