Epilogue

Seiran

Six Weeks Later

H aven is different from what I’m expecting. Black Cove has more space within the sanctuary ward, but Haven has a brighter, livelier feel.

Greer’s mom is a whole experience that I’d like to repeat sparingly if possible. She’s lovely but chatty, and, like most full-blooded siren, very focused on herself. It doesn’t appear to be purposeful, but she repeatedly manages to steer the conversation back to how Greer’s change affected her.

Visiting Hazel to help her move is a nice excuse to get us the hell out of Greer’s family home, but I must admit, Hazel’s entire family is a bit creepy.

Okay, not her whole family. Her mother and sister are lovely, but there’s this feeling that everyone knows something except for Reign, Novak, and myself. It’s not like we need to be let in on whatever has everyone so on edge.

It’ll be nice for Granny’s house to have some life in it again.

Novak treks out the front door of Hazel’s parents’ home. He drops a box on the back of the moving truck and zips over to where Reign and I ended up taking a break. His eyes are huge as they meet mine. “Her father is a reaper. The other is a sin eater.”

“Wait, how does that work?” I ask, genuinely flummoxed.

“Nadia, her mother, is a blood witch.” Novak swallows thickly, glancing at Reign. “I feel like you should have gotten this by now.”

“Is Hazel a reaper?” Reign asks in barely more than a whisper as Hazel and Greer exit the house with their own armfuls of stuff.

“She’s a devourer,” Novak whispers.

“Those don’t actually exist,” Reign says softly, but he sounds unsure. “Right? The universe couldn’t possibly think it was a good plan to make something so young and give it that much power…right?”

“I overheard her little brothers joking about how she should just devour them, but I’m not sure who the them they were speaking of is,” Novak says, watching Hazel carefully. “And we’ve just invited her to live in our town.”

I grimace. “Yeah, well, you can’t take it back now. Greer would never forgive you.”

“True,” Reign agrees.

I shrug. “She didn’t hurt us when Greer asked her not to. We treat our mate well, and I think we’ll be pretty safe.”

Novak snorts, slapping me on the back. “Always the eternal optimist.”

“Oh, man,” Greer says, climbing into my lap. “That was a long night.”

“It was,” I agree. “But Hazel’s belongings will arrive in a few days, and she’s all settled in at Granny’s. How do you feel about seeing your family? Was it a good visit?”

“Yeah, it made me a little sad, but it was nice to see them.” Her cold nose presses under my ear, and she hugs me tight. “I was afraid I was going to have to cut my mom if she didn’t stop making googly eyes at the three of you, but that’s just Mom.”

I snort. “Have I told you how sexy it is when you get violent over the three of us?” My cock jumps under her ass, even though this is a sweet cuddle and clearly not the time.

“Okay, weirdo.” Greer giggles, tugging my earlobe playfully with her teeth. “I still love you, even if you are turned on by the weirdest things.”

I growl, palming her ass. “Incubus here, kitten. I’m turned on by everything you do.” Twisting, I lay her down on the couch and cage her in. “And for the record, I love you too. I wasn’t aware my kind could experience that emotion. Not until I met you.” My lips meet hers for a soul-igniting kiss.

I can’t wait to spoil her for all eternity.
