Chapter Thirty Madison

W hy does everyone always want to fly ?

“This is your captain speaking. We’re currently starting our descent into JFK airport. Local time is four-fifteen p.m., and the temperature is a chilly fifty-three degrees. We do ask that you remain seated until we’ve landed and your fasten seatbelt signs turn off. Thank you for choosing Delta.”

The turbulence flying into JFK airport is horrible. My hands grip the arms of the business class seats that Jaxson had booked for us as I keep my eyes closed. I’d flown once before, but I’d been so drunk that I barely remember the entire experience. The entire thing one shit show after the next that Sam had to help me with, considering I ended up a few hours from where I was actually supposed to be.

“It’s really not that bad,” Jaxson murmurs next to me, my left eye opening to glance at him as I take slow, deep breaths to calm my racing heart. “Why don’t you look out the window, it’s beautiful.”

“I can’t.”

He’s quiet for a moment before I feel his hand upon mine. “Are you afraid of heights?”

Heights? He can’t be serious .

“No,” I reply softly. “If I was afraid of heights, I wouldn’t have been in the treehouse. Nor would I have gone cliff diving with you and Asher our junior year.”

“I forgot about that,” he laughs, causing me to open my eyes completely to look at him. “But if it’s not heights, then what is it?”

“Oh, I don’t know,” I grumble. “Perhaps the idea of smashing to the ground from ten thousand feet in a metal tin can.”

The sarcasm is thick within my words, and Jaxson does nothing but laugh at what I say. Not because of the infliction I feel; he isn’t that cruel. No, because of the amusement in this entire interaction.

The moment the plane touches the ground and we’re able to finally move, Jaxson sweeps me through the airport to baggage claim where we quickly gather our things and make our way to the pick-up line. A black limo waiting on the curb causes me to glance at him with curiosity over the extravagance of the ride.

“Trying to impress me?” I ask, watching his smile widen.

“Is it working?”

Shaking my head, a smile spreading across my face, I hand my bags to the chauffeur and climb into the back. It doesn’t take long for Jaxson to climb in next to me, the car speeding away from the curb, headed down the road towards the highway.

The vast city of New York stretches across the skyline with the setting glow of orange and yellows cascading out from behind it. It’s beautiful for sure, but a part of me feels slightly off because while I’m here enjoying myself, my mother is back home slaving away at the bakery by herself.

I haven’t missed a day working with her in years, and now I’m making my way towards New York City to experience things with Jaxson that I never imagined I would.

“It’s so big,” I mutter, only to hear him chuckle next to me.

“That’s what she said.”

Seriously ?

I glance at him, raising an eyebrow at his comment before a smile streaks its way across my face. “You’re a dork.”

Forty-five minutes later, and much sightseeing along the way, we pull up to the tallest building I’ve ever seen on what looks like the busiest road in New York and come to a stop. My eyes dart towards Jaxson as he glances at his phone before shoving it into his pocket. The door swiftly opens, and with one step out and an extended hand—I follow behind him.

“You live here?” I ask, watching his eyes lift to meet mine as he extends the handle on his suitcase with a nod.

“Yeah.”

My eyes move to trace up the large black glass windows of the building that seem to be never-ending. It’s a towering giant among the smaller buildings of the city. I’d expected something extraordinary, but never something as extraordinary as this.

“Wait till we get inside,” he murmurs against my ear, catching my attention. His hand grasps mine as the doorman takes our bags and we make our way inside the building.

White marble flooring and enormous gray walls meet me the moment we step through the revolving door. The inside is just as spectacular as the outside, with a blonde receptionist sitting behind a large silver and black desk waiting to greet us.

“Welcome back, Mr. Rivers,” she says sweetly. His eyes never move towards her as he gives her a brief wave of acknowledgment before we pass by heading towards the elevators. As much as he clearly didn’t care to make conversation with the woman, I didn’t miss the way her smile quickly fell the moment her eyes met mine..

“So, I was thinking… After I give you a tour of the apartment, why don’t we get cleaned up and I’ll take you out to dinner tonight? Show you around the city. Maybe do something special?”

“Okay,” I reply as the elevator doors close and we begin moving up towards his floor. The lights never cease as we pass one floor after the next until we reach level P2 and it finally stops. I should have known that Mister Big and Bougie would be in a penthouse. But after the apartment he rented next to mine, I’d half way thought I’d misread his lifestyle.

Guess he really did just want to be closer to me .

Though, the apartment rental was pointless. The man literally spent every night in my bed.

Finally stepping into his apartment, I’m blown away with how Jaxson Rivers really lives. It’s clear the man has spared no expense on his ‘ minimalist’ lifestyle and overly lavish kitchen equipped with stainless steel appliances, and a large butcher block kitchen island with a hanging pan rack that’s bolted to the ceiling above it.

The sight almost makes me want to cry because of how beautiful it is, but he pulls me away before I can continue to admire it further. “Madison.”

“Coming,” I call out. Turning from the gorgeous kitchen to where he is stood by the entry to a long hallway off to the left of the living room. My feet carry me as fast as possible while following behind him straight towards a large white door that stands open, showing off the massive king size bed sitting within the center of the room. The sleek black material clean and pristine matched with the gray comforter and pillow set he obviously didn’t decorate.

The man had someone set that up for him. Not that I blame him. If I had the money Jaxson had, I’d hire a full staff to take care of me.

“Wow, this is beautiful.” I say, walking around the room taking everything in. My eyes catch hold of the large floor to ceiling windows that make up one wall of the room overlooking the city below. “A girl could get used to a view like this.”

“Is that right?” He mumbles, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind as his lips press softly against my cheek. “Guess I’ll have to keep trying to flatter you so that you don’t leave anytime soon.”

“Better get to work then…”

Pulling me right against him, he carries me backwards across the room. Laughter escapes me as we make our way towards the bathroom only to be turned around to face him once we’re inside. His eyes gazing down at me as he leans forward pressing soft tender kisses against my lips.

“Let’s take a shower, and I’ll show you how hard I can work. ”

I’m barely able to breath before his lips are descending upon mine. Our clothes come off one piece at a time quickly finding themselves upon the floor as Jaxson manages to turn on the shower, while pulling me beneath its cascading bands of hot water that instantly makes me relax into him. I didn’t think that my first shower in his apartment would be like this, but I’m not going to complain.

I sink into him, his hands wandering the curves of my body as our tongues continue to collide. The water pelting down across my skin as he slowly turns me around pressing my back against the shower wall. Down to his knees he sinks, lips trailing across my chest capturing the erect bud of my nipple as I gasp from the pleasuring sensation that runs through me straight to my core.

The man is beyond intoxicating, and as his mouth lets loose my nipple and travels down over the slope of my stomach to my aching cunt between my legs I groan with ecstasy. The sensation of his tongue flicking over my clit is something I will never get used to. It’s like every time he pleases me, it gets better and better.

“Jaxson—” I moan softly, as his arms wrap around my legs and he slowly lifts me up onto his shoulders, his mouth still buried between my thighs as my finger wraps within the wet strands of his hair. The pleasure builds to a breaking point within the pit of my stomach the hungrier he becomes devouring my tight wet cunt as if savoring his last meal.

When I finally can’t take any more, I come undone, screaming in pleasure as my head falls back and my toes curl. Heavy pants escaping me when I finally glance down to see him take one last long lick of my pussy before looking up to catch my gaze. “You’re fucking delicious.”

“I guess that’s one way to welcome a girl home,” I say teasingly watching as a devilish smirk lifts at the corner of his mouth.

“Who says I’m done welcoming?”

I barely have time to realize what he means before his face once more dives between my thighs and he begins to devour me again.

If this is what I have to look forward to every day with Jaxson, I’m in it to win it.
