LEILANI

T hursday morning, Leilani was surprised when a package arrived from Adaze. She brought it inside and opened it with a smile.

When she saw what was inside, she couldn't help but laugh. Picking up her phone, she called her girlfriend.

"I got your gift," Leilani smiled.

"Is that okay?"

She looked over the clothes. "I supposed you did good enough that I'm willing to humor you."

"Thank you for that. I feel so honored."

"You should. This is certainly a first. I wouldn't allow just anyone to dress me."

"And when we get back to your place, I'll undress you too," Adaze growled.

"You could always come pick me up early."

"But how do you know that? Maybe you should tell me more about it so I can make sure."

"Do you not trust me?"

"Then be patient and enjoy the evening."

She pouted, crossing her arms.

Adaze smiled, taking her hand. "So what did you do today?"

"Just sat around playing with Jaspurr and tried to figure out what you've been plotting."

The rest of the ride, Leilani could hardly sit still. Every restaurant they passed she expected them to stop, but they never did.

"Here we are."

Leilani had never seen such luxury in one place. Everywhere she looked was opulence. The second they stepped inside, a hostess was at their side.

"How good to see you and your date, Ms. Banks. If you would please follow me, I'll show you to your table."

Leilani followed her with wide eyes to a secluded table near a window overlooking the city. They both took their seats. It had to be the best table in the restaurant—of course it was.

"Your drinks and appetizers will be right out."

Leilani frowned, turning to Adaze once the couple were alone, "But we didn't order anything yet."

"I may have ordered ahead. Is that alright?"

A few minutes later, three plates of various appetizers arrived. Leilani eyed them warily. Most of them barely looked like food at all.

"What is any of this?" she asked.

Adaze shrugged. "I could tell you, or you could have fun guessing."

"But what if I don't like something or have an allergy?"

"I can't promise you'll like everything, but I asked about your allergies a few days ago so I could make sure everything I ordered would be safe. I also made a list of everything I remembered you ordered before so I could pick things I thought would suit your tastes, so I can tell you, or," she scooped up a bit of something that looked vaguely like a meatball on a fork and held it out to her. "We can play a game. Your choice."

Leilani grinned. She leaned in, holding her gaze and took the bite into her mouth. She let out a sound of pleasant surprise.

"That's what I thought. Now, eat up. If you want to try and guess what anything is, I will happily indulge you. You'll also get a little page with everything we got as well as photos when we leave."

"That's—I didn't know there were places that did things like that."

"There aren't. I called in a favor."

Leilani softened. "You didn't need to do that."

"I know, but I wanted to. Besides, if I can't use my money to spoil my girlfriend, what can I use it for?"

When they were done, Leilani thought they would head back to her place, but Adaze led her to the elevator and took them up to the roof.

When they stepped outside, Leilani let out a small laugh of delight. "I didn't know people were allowed up here."

"Technically, we're not. But there are certainly perks to being the billionaire CEO Adaze Banks."

Leilani just laughed, walking through the space. The whole rooftop was filled with plants and benches. There were even fairy lights twisted in a few small potted trees. "What? They just hauled all of this out here for you?"

She just shrugged. "I can make anything happen."

Leilani moved to stand by the railing. She looked down on the lights of the city. In the distance, she could see the city reflected out on the dark expanse of the ocean.

"The view is incredible."

"Is that jewelry?"

"Is it too much?"

She laughed. "It should be, but I've got to be honest, I love it, and I'm sure Jaspurr will too."

Adaze looked relieved. "Good. I'm glad."

A short while later, the pair finally made it back to Leilani's place.

"Here we are," Leilani purred, stretching out on her sofa.

"I was planning on it."
