3. The bet
The bet

Jamie nudges Drew in the arm with his shoulder, causing him to bump into me. Drew pushes him back, practically knocking him off his feet. For a pair of twins, you’d think they’d be kind to each other but no, they are the worst, always fighting like they’re trying to one up each other. If it hadn’t been for the way we all grew up, I’d have ditched their asses long before now. As they continue to shove each other, I just continue walking across the overly green grass, shaking my head at their antics.
“Ten Grand says I can get every new girl in this school before the end of the week.” Jamie brags as he jogs to catch up to me. I side step a girl who’s staring dazedly at the twins. We’ve had girls chasing us since we were twelve but I rarely pay attention to them. Girls are more trouble than they’re worth. Well, except when my libido demands I scratch that ever increasing itch, then it’s a matter of finding a girl who won’t expect too much from me.
“Get fucked,” Drew snaps, “there’s like twenty new girls this year, no way you’d be able to bag them all in six days.” He shoves Jamie into the girl, then shouts, “Before I can!” Neither of them stop to apologise to the poor girl, but the look on her face says she’d beg them to do it if it meant she could touch them again.
“Then it’ll be an easy ten grand, wouldn’t it?” Jamie laughs shoving my shoulder this time. My eyes are rolling into my head before I can stop them. I sidestep a couple making out near the fountain before cutting across the grass to the footpath. My gaze locks onto someone and words pour from my mouth before I can even think, “Fifty says I can get her. ” I nod my head at the girl standing next to Sandra. The girl is smoking hot. Easily a ten out of ten. I slowly trail my gaze from her head to her toes and back up again. She’s one of those exotically beautiful girls with dark hair, slightly tilted eyes, porcelain skin and curves in all the right places. I’m practically drooling as I zero in on the tight ass and long legs.
I’m not sure how such a small thing could possibly have long legs, she’d barely reach my shoulders. I’m pulled from my thoughts as the twins wrap their arms around my shoulders, hanging off me like a pair of monkeys. “Who?” They both ask at the same time their eyes flit from person to person near the main hall of the castle.
“The hottie standing next to that Sandra chick.” I nod my head, towards the girl who’s captured my attention.
“Dude, I love you but there is no way any of us would stand a chance, look at the way she’s standing, that pointed chin is high in the air. Her nose is practically parallel to the sky, there’s no way a stuck up bitch like her is going to even give us the time of day, let alone a fuck in a closet at lunch time.”
“Huh?” I search around for who he could be talking about, the girl I was looking at is nothing like that.
“The chick with the red shirt and black pants, right?” Jamie asks, pointing to a girl standing a few feet away from my dream girl. “What? No! I was looking at her, the girl in the pale blue button up and dark jeans, standing next to Sandra.” My gaze goes straight back to her. There’s something about the way she stands out that has me intrigued. She’s not hanging her head like the shy girls, but she’s also not sticking her nose in the air or glaring at other people. There’s a haunted look to her that is drawing me in.
“Oh, that’s not Sandra, that’s Samantha.” Drew finally says after a few moments.
I roll my eyes. “Like I care what her name is.” I scoff to hide my embarrassment over mixing up the names. I’ve never gotten a girl’s name wrong before. The stunning beauty before me must have scrambled my brain.
“Be right back.” Before I can get another word out, Drew jogs off, heading straight for my dream girl. “Fifty grand, Dude, you’ll lose this bet within the day. She’s fucking sexy. No way she’s gonna be hard to get.”
Ignoring Jamie, I watch as Drew stops suddenly, practically slamming right into the girl before dropping to one knee. Even from here I can hear him talking. “Sorry, I don’t usually fall this fast, but honey, you’re an angel dropped from heaven and destined for me.”
My eyes roll so hard I swear they’ve gone into the back of my head. Seconds pass and she finally opens her mouth, the lyrical sound coming out of her is like hearing an actual angel sing.
Until the words sink into my brain….
