Chapter 4
Ryu
"There are more coming!" Blaine yells at me as he jumps off of the side of the castle, shifting in mid-air to his gigantic dragon form.
I glare at the dragon hunters are they are trying to attack the castle, pissing me off because I was having such a wonderful time with Avalon in bed before they decided to show up. I'm trying to make the best out of a situation, making me feel a bit weird about it because it seems like we're coming up short in this sort of situation and I couldn't be sure what to make of it. Something is telling me on the inside that there is no way that I'm going to be able to hold back in the sense that this could very well turn around and bite me in the butt.
I know that Avalon was a bit irritated because we have pretty much been in bed since our wedding day, but I just couldn't get enough of her. I didn't mean to mark and knot her, but it's like my body had a mind of its own and then I was just there having to accept everything it threw at me. It made me feel a bit annoyed, unsure of what would happen next but there's no way that I would let it happen that way unless I could help it. I just hope that Avalon can understand why I didn't wake her up to go fight.
I was kind of worried that she would try to join.
I jump off of the castle walls, shifting in mid-air the same. I let out a ferocious roar that sends some of the hunters off of the building, unable to hold on. I'm not called a Guardian for nothing, and I hate these bastards who think they are going to stand in my way and hurt my home. I'll kill them all. Easily swooping in, I manage to snag a few of them and make them fall to their deaths, making sure there is no way they would be able to get inside. I can hear their screaming and it should make me upset to have to kill this way but there's no way that I would allow it to come to this. I understand that they THINK that I'm going to just put up with this shit but there's no way that I'm going to let it happen that way.
I kill as many as possible, knowing that there are Guardians remaining on the walls in case someone manages to get to the top. I have to give the hunters props; they do know what they are doing but there's no way I'm going to let them win. I hate every one of these bastards and if they honestly think that I'm going to let this happen then they have another thing coming.
I know Blaine must be feeling the same way because he is following my lead and not complaining about it. Since marrying Avalon, I think that he has just finally gotten it through his head that it's not a good idea to go against me. If he does, then it would surely be a death wish for him and I'm not so sure that he wants that.
Blaine ~ Ryu, I see a bunch of hunters coming up on the other side. I think we need to focus on there for now before worrying about anything else.
I hadn't even noticed it, so I have to be thankful to him. I fly around the castle, trying to see what he is talking about. When it comes to hunters, they are very crafty, and they don't care who stands in their way. I'd love nothing more than to kill all of them, but we do have to be careful about going down this road. If they end up getting too close, this could be a dangerous game where my people could die.
Ryu ~ Blaine, where are they? Did they already reach the top because I don't see them at all. Where did you say they were?
Blaine ~ They were just there! I think they might have reached the top, but I don't know. I can't see anybody.
This doesn't seem right and just as I fly around the corner, Blaine is on me. I let out a fierce roar when he latches his claws and teeth into my body, stopping me from being able to fly as we fall towards the ground. I'm struggling to get him off of me because he has me in such a weird position that it's hard to fight back. We hit the ground hard, making me wonder if I might have just broken a few bones. I finally gain some leverage to whip around and snap at his face, making him back down. I try to get to my feet, but I think my leg is broken.
Ryu ~ What the hell is this, Blaine? Did you have anything to do with those hunters attacking? How could you betray this kingdom?
Blaine ~ This kingdom betrayed me the minute that they allowed YOU to become King. I'll be back, Ryu, I can promise you that. I will take everything from you, including the Princess.
I want to charge at him but there's no way I would be able to do it now. He flies off, pissing me off in the process because of course this is what he had to do. I notice hunters filing into the trees, realizing quickly that this had just been a distraction to attack me. I couldn't believe that Blaine would partner with them after everything that they have done to us but it's not even surprising at this point.
Fuck me, just what did I get myself into?
