CHAPTER 22

LUCAS

I'd spent much of the first part of the day hard and horny for my mate.

The conversation we had over breakfast had put many dirty images of Noah in my mind. Picturing him on all fours, presenting his slick hole for me to plow was a favorite that kept tormenting me.

The thought made him nervous and I could understand that, but he was imagining something far worse than the reality. And once he'd experienced the pleasures that awaited him with those changes, I was sure he'd wonder why he'd been worried at all.

But alas, he was now and so, I'd given him space to process the knowledge. He'd offered me another book he recommended when there wasn't something I could help him with so I became engrossed in a world of gay ice hockey players.

The door bells chimed and I looked up to see Felix's flirty smile.

"Afternoon Lucas, found any new sexy single hikers for me yet?"

I laughed. He really was such a character and so much fun. He was going to make some man very happy one day. "Not yet Felix, but I'm keeping my eyes peeled just for you."

"My hero!" he said with a hand on his heart. He turned and walked over to a smirking Noah who'd been watching the exchange. "Hi Noah, I've finished this one already, it was really good so, can you please order the rest of the series for me?"

"Sure thing," Noah replied and started tapping away on his computer.

"What was the book about?" I asked.

"It's a werewolf series. It's by a new author called Jacklyn Fox and I hadn't read her work yet so I didn't want to go all in on the series straight away."

"But it was good, you enjoyed it?" I asked, curious about his thoughts on it.

"It was so good and really steamy! I'm excited to read the next ones."

"Do you read a lot of werewolf books?"

"Yep. All the fantasy stuff but gay ones. There are some super sexy books out there, you just gotta hunt for them a little," Felix said, his passion showing clearly in his expression.

"So, the werewolf isn't a turn off?" I asked curiously.

"Hell no, it just makes it hotter!"

"Interesting," I murmured, hoping Noah was paying close attention.

Maybe if he saw that it didn't faze his friend then he might resist his upcoming changes a little less. Though I supposed it was just fantasy for Felix, who knows how he'd react with the reality.

"Okay, all done," Noah said with a final click of his mouse. "The next two should arrive in about a week."

"Awesome, thank you! I can't wait. Okay, I better get back to the post office. Tootles," Felix called out as he skipped out the door.

At the end of the day, Noah was doing his accounts and getting ready to close his shop.

"I'm going to call Drew to give him a heads up that we'll be there soon, I'll be back in a moment," I said to Noah.

He continued sorting his receipts. "Okay, I'll be done here in five to ten minutes."

I walked to the top of the steps and pulled out my phone and dialed.

"Alpha, what can I do for you?" Drew asked when he picked up.

"I'm bringing Noah to the pack for the weekend and we'll be there in around an hour. Please tell the pack to keep their distance when we arrive so that Noah isn't overwhelmed."

"No problem, I'll make sure everyone knows to give him some space. They're going to be so excited to meet him."

I could hear the joy in Drews voice. He'd been living with their anticipation and questions which I'm sure were starting to drive him a little crazy.

"I know, that's why I want to make this process as gentle as possible for Noah. I need to convince him to move there permanently and bombarding him with strangers who want to know everything about him isn't going to help," I said, feeling nervous. It was not a feeling I usually had and it was quite disconcerting.

"I'm sure it will be fine Lucas," he said, I knew he was talking to me as a friend when he slipped and used my name instead of title, "the pack wants him here as much as you do and if they know he needs space for that to happen, they'll be happy to give it to him," he reassured me.

It helped.

"Thanks Drew. I'll see you later tonight."

Noah joined me at the top of the steps a minute later and we hopped on my bike to head back to his house so he could pack a bag. Since he was only staying for the weekend, he didn't need more than a change of clothes which would fit in a backpack.

I was glad for that because it meant we could take the bike. I wanted Noah to see the forest from the bike, instead of the confines of a car. It was as close to the feeling of running in wolf form that a human could get.

"I'll go pack a bag. I'll be back in a couple minutes," Noah said after removing his helmet.

"Okay. Don't worry about cosmetics, we'll stop on the way and I'll buy you what you need so we can keep them at the compound. That way it's easier for you to travel back and forth."

I was hoping this first visit would go so well that Noah wanted to spend much more time at the pack. Once he met everyone and saw how great they all are, and not the weird hippy cult he'd been imagining, I was confident that he'd be more agreeable to spending more nights there.

Then I'd just have to convince him to stay there until his first change.
