FOM THE LIGHT I FALL

I 'm nervous to leave my father, but Samael has convinced me that he is holding us back from the joys the world holds. The rules we abide by are strict and if we choose to defy them the punishment is severe. I am promised a new world where I am free to love Samael the way I was meant to. No more secrets.

"Are you ready?" he whispers in my ear as he stands behind me. "Once we start there's no turning back."

I can't tell if it's the breath that skates across my bare neck or the anticipation that makes my body vibrate. I find myself frozen. No words find their way past my lips, but then he slides his finger down the back of my arm and a feather of his touch whispers across my hip.

Bowing my head I speak softly, "I'd do anything to be with you."

The flutter of his wings stole his heat as he backs away from me, leaving me in my new calm. I've made my decision. Today I will fall. Leave everything I have grown to know and love, for him. Because without his love, I would surely die.
