"I took care of my target, why are you taking so long?!" I laugh at my mom over our video call.

"Your father keeps getting distracted by all the street vendors. He's already eaten two mititei , and will have the meat sweats if he eats the third in his hand!"

"Three is a sacred number!" Dad shouts. He belches, and the disgusted look on Mom's face is hilarious. Even Vincenzo is laughing.

When I envisioned my honeymoon, I did not originally think of Romania. Honestly, it seemed a bit too cliche for newly married vampire mates, but I got a target for the Femme Fatale Freakshow there. Vincenzo and I have never visited, so we set off. Our favorite hobby together is murdering my targets. We make a whole date night out of it.

You could say we really… killed …this whole honeymoon thing.

My mom got a target out here too about a week into our trip. Her, Dad, Vincenzo, and I have been seeing the sights together–visiting castles, taking in the natural wonders. So far Mom really likes Vin, and Dad is starting to warm up to him. He even showed my husband his bullet collection. Turns out they're both nerds who love morbid stuff like that.

"He has a seven thirty dinner reservation, so we figured we'd wait until he's plied with wine and too bloated to run. Pick him off fast and meet up with you two for dessert. How does that sound?"

"Sounds like a plan," Vin chimes in. "Good luck!"

We say our goodbyes and end the call, then he pulls me into our bedroom and pushes me onto the bed.

"We have an hour until our reservation…" he growls as he climbs on top of me. "May as well make the most of it…"

I unbutton his shirt and pull it over his head, then kiss his new tattoo over his heart–my name laced into a huge flower.

"Well then we better make the most of it."
