Chapter 39

"Boss, you need to see this."

One of my men enters the room, setting a laptop in front of me. I've been pursuing Nessa for months, ever since my team lost her. I refuse to accept that she has just disappeared into thin air.

Speaking of the red-haired beauty, her picture appears on the screen in front of me, and I press the play button. She's standing with a group of men I happen to know all too well, and one woman I might actually be afraid of crossing.

It looks as if they are all walking around the truck that belonged to one of my men. The one who was shot because he could not keep his mouth shut. Too many men think that they can boast about my jobs to those outside of the Reapers and not be punished for leaking private information.

It was because of him that I had to move my investments again , which is becoming quite expensive. Children should know to sit down and do as they're told, be seen and not heard. Yet, some of the chattel being trained in my camps still choose to fight the authority figures. Perhaps I will pay them a visit soon and show them exactly what happens when you question me.

I could simply kill them, and I still might if they become too difficult. However, my experience has taught me that those who do not fear easily become the best soldiers. Now, the only step left is to break them so that they can be re-made in my image.

Ever since the Prime Minister found a bug planted on him, I have been curious who was following my people, trying to get to my investments.

Now that I know, I fear I may need to increase security around the latest campsite. In fact, I may have to keep the children there for longer this time and fortify the grounds.

When I watch Cillian Kelly pick up my sweet girl and take her to a car, I clench my fists. He was meant to be dead; I was assured of it.

"Do we know where she's located?" I ask one of my men, standing and grabbing my double holster from the back of my chair to strap over my chest.

"No sir, but we believe we can set a trap for her should she show up too close to the campsites."

I nod in confirmation, placing my guns inside the leather straps and fastening them to my broad shoulders.

"Let's make it happen then. Double the men on security. Twenty should be sufficient."

She won't evade me again.
