CHAPTER 30
Selma gripped her board as she flew in the air and landed out ahead of the rider who had been in first place just a second before she hit the finish line. She turned her board to stop herself, making snow go flying as she raised her arms in the air. She was through the semifinals and had made it to the final along with five other boarders. Selma looked over and saw her girlfriend, Drew Oakes, standing there with a huge smile on her face. She unclipped from her board and hurried over to her, hugging her hard, unable to believe she’d pulled it off.
“I was so far behind,” she said as she caught her breath. “She cut me off.”
“I know. I saw it. She kind of deserved the fall she had after she did that, and I’m glad she didn’t take you out with her.”
“God, me too.” Selma pulled out of the hug. “I am exhausted.”
“I bet you are, hotshot.”
“First, it was killer. Now, it’s hotshot?” Selma chuckled.
“You just came from behind in a semifinal, and now, you’re the top-ranked boarder in the final – yeah, you’re both of those things. And I really want to kiss my girlfriend, so can we maybe head back to the hotel, where I can do that in the privacy of our own room?”
Selma gave her a smile and nodded her head to the side for them to go. They walked without touching, which Selma wasn’t a fan of. People congratulated her on the win as they went, until finally, they were in the van, heading back to the hotel, and she could reach for and at least take Drew’s hand since no one was paying attention to them.
“I have an idea,” Drew said softly enough for no one else to hear.
“What is it?”
“When we get back to the room, I’ll draw you a bath and add some of that bubble stuff the hotel provides that we didn’t use last night. You can soak in it for a while, and then I’ll give you a massage.”
Selma lifted her eyebrows.
“And what did I do to deserve all that?”
“You just won a kick-ass race that everyone but me thought you were going to lose. I’m proud of you. I want to show you how much.”
“You don’t have to do that with a massage, babe. There are other ways you can show me.”
“Oh, the massage is the precursor to that. Was that not clear?”
Selma smiled and let her head rest on Drew’s shoulder, not caring if anyone saw that and had questions. She was happy, and she wanted to share this moment with Drew. When they were dropped off at their hotel, Drew took Selma’s hand back the moment they were inside, but the second they were in the elevator alone, Selma had Drew pressed against the side wall.
“Hi,” she said as she unzipped Drew’s coat.
“Uh… Hi.”
“Can the bath be after?”
“If that’s what you want, sure,” Drew said as she looked down and followed Selma’s hands on her belt buckle.
“I like you in these jeans. I want them off, though.” She undid Drew’s button.
“Babe, we’re in public.”
“Not really.” Selma unzipped Drew’s jeans right before the elevator pinged and the doors opened, so she held Drew’s coat together. “Don’t button them back up.”
Drew looked a little dazed and asked more than said, “I won’t?”
Selma chuckled and pulled on Drew’s hand. She was riding a high. Two nights in a row, filled with amazing sex and several orgasms with her hot girlfriend, followed by falling asleep and waking up next to her, and then having Drew there to support her in the races that she’d also won, had Selma feeling the best she’d ever felt in her life.
“Fuck,” Drew let out when Selma pressed her to the wall of their room and slipped her hand inside her jeans and underwear.
“I missed you,” Selma said as she kissed Drew’s neck.
“I missed you, too. And you don’t want to at least let me take off my coat?”
“Later,” Selma stated and licked up to her earlobe. “I need to be inside you.”
Drew spread her legs wider without waiting for any kind of request or order, and something about that turned Selma on even more. She pushed inside with one and then two fingers, not surprised to find Drew already wet. What she’d discovered was that Drew had the ability to get wet in seconds when she was turned on, and that, apparently, Selma was someone who turned her on.
“What’s gotten into you? Not that I’m complaining.”
Selma stopped her movements and looked into Drew’s eyes.
“It’s our last night. I don’t want a long bath. I want to do this all night long.”
“It’s not our last night. I–”
“I’m leaving tomorrow after the final, remember?” she asked and pulled out of Drew.
“Hey, put those back,” Drew said, sounding almost offended.
Selma smiled, kissed her, and pushed back inside.
“I need to get back because I have a parent-teacher conference for Gia the next morning.”
“Shit. I forgot,” Drew said, and her head hit the wall behind her. “I should move my flight. I thought we were here another night.”
“Babe, I would be, but–”
“No, it’s okay. I just forgot that you told me that, so I thought we had another right.” She pushed at the coat on Selma’s shoulders. “Take this off.”
“You just told me to stay where I was,” Selma smirked.
“Fine. Fuck me. Then, take everything off. I want all night with you, too.”
Selma kissed her hard and began moving her fingers inside her girlfriend, wishing they could do this every night forever because it felt so good, being with Drew like this; being with Drew in all ways.
“God, yes,” Drew moaned and spread her legs a little farther apart.
Selma didn’t have a lot of space, with Drew’s jeans still on, and her wrist was starting to hurt, but she wouldn’t stop until Drew came hard against her hand. Seconds later, Drew’s head was back against the wall, her eyes were closed, and her mouth opened wide as she said Selma’s name and came. Selma stroked her softly, wanting to bring her down all the way before she slowly pulled out of her.
“Naked. Now,” Drew ordered.
Selma put her fingers into her mouth and sucked on them, tasting Drew for the first time that day. Drew licked her own lips, cupped both of Selma’s cheeks, and pulled her in for a searing kiss. She had Selma’s coat off, followed by everything else Selma had been wearing, not long after that, and Selma was on her back, head on the pillows, with Drew on top of her. Drew kissed her slowly then before lowering her lips to Selma’s breast and sucking a nipple into her mouth. Selma moaned as Drew’s hand moved between her legs to cup her before she stroked Selma’s clit a few times, now knowing just how to touch her to make her come.
Before Selma could, though, Drew slipped inside her, pressed her thumb to her clit, and began moving in and out gently at first while her lips found Selma’s again. As their tongues danced together slowly, Drew moaned into Selma’s mouth.
“Open your eyes, baby,” she said a minute later.
Selma did.
“I want to see them when you come,” Drew added.
Selma wasn’t sure she could keep her eyes open through an orgasm, but she’d try if that was what Drew wanted. Drew pressed her thumb harder down on Selma’s clit, and her thrusts grew a little stronger and a little faster. Selma couldn’t hold on much longer, but she kept her eyes open, staring into Drew’s beautiful green ones.
“Yes, like that,” Drew said. “Come for me, baby. Please come for me.”
Selma came then. She managed to keep her eyes open for a few seconds, but then, she had to close them. It was too intense; all of it was too intense. The orgasm ripping through her was very intense, but staring into Drew’s perfect face while she came was even more intense than that. Selma loved her. She was in love with Drew Oakes.
She couldn’t tell her that now, though; not during sex and not on their last night together until they could find a way to see each other again. Selma wanted it to be over a romantic dinner at Drew’s place or at her own, where there was music playing in the background and maybe some lit candles or something. She hadn’t ever told anyone that she loved them before; not even the boyfriend she’d had for six months who had said the words around month four, and she’d had to disappoint him by telling him she hadn’t been ready to say that yet, when that hadn’t been completely true. She hadn’t been ready to say it, yes, but she also hadn’t felt it.
“God, you’re so beautiful when you come,” Drew said before she kissed her.
Selma didn’t say anything in response as they kissed. She just waited because she knew what Drew would do next. She didn’t exactly know how she knew, but she did. And sure enough, a minute later, Drew’s hand began to move, and not long after that, Selma was coming again.
◆◆◆
“It’s colder today. The snow will be faster. Watch your turns,” Drew told her when Selma was about to head to the start.
“I know, babe,” she replied with a smile. “But, thank you.”
“I’ll be down at the bottom when you win.”
“Don’t jinx me,” she said.
“Hey, can I–” Drew looked around, and Selma didn’t know what she was about to ask. “Kiss? For good luck?”
“Yeah? Out here?”
“If you’re okay with it, I am. I don’t care if anyone knows.”
Selma nodded and leaned in, giving Drew a quick kiss on the lips.
“You’ve got this,” Drew told her before she kissed her once more. “I’ll see you down there.”
“Okay.”
She watched Drew walk off then and let out a deep breath.
“So… That’s going well, huh?”
Selma turned to see Andy standing there.
“Uh…”
“She told me. I’m happy for you two. For what it’s worth, you have nothing to worry about with me, Selma. I don’t want Drew like that anymore. I’m hoping we can be friends, but I have no desire to sleep with her again. No offense.”
“No offense?”
“Just that you, apparently, do have the desire to sleep with her. Anyway, I have a girlfriend that I’m crazy about, so not at all interested in going back in time to when I had a thing for Drew Oakes.”
“Well, that’s good to know, I guess.”
“Do me a favor, though.”
“Okay?”
“Don’t hurt her. She’s a good person.”
“I don’t want to hurt her.”
“We never want to, do we?” Andy shrugged a shoulder. “Time to race down a mountain at a million miles an hour and hope we don’t die. You ready?”
Selma had to laugh at that, and as they headed to the starting gates, she thought about what Andy had just said: she had no desire to sleep with Drew again. That made no sense to Selma. How could someone who had been with Drew like that not want to be with her in that way again? She couldn’t understand that. They’d made love for half the night and then had a quickie in the shower that morning, and Selma wanted her again right now. She was in too deep, but right now, she really needed to pay attention to her stance in the gate to get her ass down this hill and back in Drew’s arms; preferably, in first place.
Selma held her position and took her breaths, thinking about the course and how best to attack it as she saw her breath in the cold air. It had gotten colder overnight, and that would make the course harder and faster. While Selma preferred a faster course, it meant that how she’d taken it in the semifinal wouldn’t work as well today. She’d held back a little yesterday and had to come from behind to advance. Today, she’d try to get out ahead of everyone to have full control over her turns and have no one in front of her to worry about having to turn or jump behind.
At the sound, Selma took off, plunging herself into the first berm, hitting it the right way, moving down it, and repeating it with the next. She was neck and neck, it appeared, with three other boarders, so she needed to start getting some space now as quickly as possible. She lowered herself down the short downhill and lifted her board with every single muscle in her body, putting herself lower than everyone else when she hit the next berm, and then, the real downhill into the first turn. She had a little space now, but Andy was on her tail, and she could easily take Selma.
Selma got to the inside faster and made the left turn that led to the first jump. It was a small jump, and she held her own, still out ahead of everyone else into the first right turn, for which she had to move over to get inside. Andy was there, though, taking that spot before Selma could get to it. The two of them were even now, so Selma was a little upset that she hadn’t made it over fast enough, but remembering the sequence of the middle of the course, she knew what to do. She eased off the turn and hit the next jump in the middle of the course, making her way into the left turn on the inside, which Andy had either forgotten about or hadn’t thought of because now, she was behind Selma.
The next section was the fastest part of the course, and Selma held on for dear life to that lead, trying to get as much separation as she could going into the final big air jump, which, if she didn’t land perfectly, Andy might, and she’d end up with the win. Selma hit the jump right where she should have, and after getting good air, she landed upright and raised her arms the instant she crossed the line in first place.
“Hell, yeah! Selma!”
That was Drew’s voice. Selma’s coach found her first and gave her a hug, but Selma kept it short. Then, she unclipped and headed over to Drew, pulling the woman into a long kiss before she hugged her.
“Well, I guess we’re really out now.” Drew laughed. “You did it, babe. Congratulations!”
“I wish you were racing with me,” Selma replied before she pulled out of the hug and removed her goggles.
“Me too. But this way, I get to watch the whole thing from down here and see you kick Andy’s ass.”
“Hey,” Andy said with a laugh. “Nice race, Selma.” She held out her hand.
Selma shook it and said, “Thank you.”
“Let’s get you ready for your top spot on the podium, gorgeous,” Drew suggested with a wink.
“Before we go, I just…” Selma licked her lips. “I’m really going to miss you.”
“I’m going to miss you, too. But that’s not what we’re going to focus on right now. We’re going to celebrate your win. We can talk about all that at the airport after, okay?”
“Okay. You’re right,” she said and kissed Drew quickly once more.
