Chapter Twenty
Bones
“Christmas Eve and you guys finally got that damn thing decorated,” Wick chuckled as he leaned against the doorframe. “Only took you a week and some change.”
I glanced over at the tree and felt a bit proud of what Snow and I had pulled off. The tree looked damn good. Red, green, and silver ornaments glimmered in the soft light, with twinkling lights weaving in and out of the branches. A shiny star crowned the top, and the whole thing was surrounded by a couple of perfectly placed gifts.
“Yeah, we did a pretty good job,” I replied, not about to mention that Snow and I had taken two breaks while decorating to, um, decorate each other with leftover icing from the sugar cookies. Getting a sugar rush had a whole new meaning after Snow had decorated my dick and carefully licked every inch clean. I definitely repaid the favor when I made her tits my sugary dessert.
Wick waved his hand in front of my face. “You in there, man?” He laughed. “I don’t even think I want to know what you’re daydreaming about.”
Oh, I’m sure Wick would love to know. But some things were just between Snow and me.
I shook my head and cleared the thoughts of last night’s… festivities. “Nah, just thinking about how damn good that tree looks,” I said with a grin. “You know.”
Wick snorted, clearly not buying it. “Sure, Bones. Christmas stuff.” He tossed me a knowing look before heading into the kitchen.
Just as I followed him, a loud shout rang out from the kitchen. “That’s it!” Snow’s voice was filled with triumph.
“Yoohoo!” Bonnie’s cheerful voice chimed in.
I walked into the kitchen and grinned as I saw Snow raising her arms in victory. Her face lit up with a wide smile. “We are done for Christmas!”
I looked around at the counter, where pies, pastries, and some other desserts were neatly arranged. “What are those?” I asked, raising an eyebrow.
Snow lowered her arms and turned to me, clearly pleased with herself. “Those are for you guys and the club.”
Nut, who had just finished washing his hands, took off his apron and tossed it in the hamper. “I don’t know if I can look at, let alone eat any of that.” He looked at the pile of sweets and shook his head in mock horror.
“Oh, I know I can,” Bonnie chuckled. “Guns has been bugging me every day to bring home mess-ups or leftovers.” She grabbed a pie and a box of pastries. “I thank you for this so I don’t have to make breakfast tomorrow morning.”
“You should take more, Bonnie, and then the rest is for you guys to take back to the clubhouse,” Snow added and smiled as she wiped her hands on a towel. “You don’t have to eat any if you don’t want to, Nut.” She gave him a sympathetic look. “I know the feeling of not wanting to eat anything sweet after making it.”
Nut groaned as he stared at the pastries. “I’ll take some back to the clubhouse. I’d much rather eat a slab of bacon and a brick of cheese.”
Bonnie, on the other hand, didn’t even hesitate. She grabbed a second pie and a box of pastries. “I’m taking all this. You know how I do. Guns will probably eat half of it tonight anyway.”
“Guess I’ll take the rest then,” Wick said, opening a container and pulling out a bear claw for the road. “Though you might have saved a little too much, Snow. Most of the guys head to see family.”
Snow laughed. “I might have gone a little overboard, but it’s Christmas. And besides, it’s fun to spoil you guys.”
“Are you guys sure you don’t want to come over for Christmas dinner tomorrow?” Bonnie asked.
“Or even to the clubhouse?” Nut added.
I glanced over at Snow. We’d talked about it, and we both agreed that we wanted to spend our first Christmas together, just the two of us. It was a big deal for me—being with her, making our own traditions. And the rest of our Christmases would be spent together, too. We could always go to the clubhouse next year when I’d be an official member of the club.
“I think we’re good right here,” I said and gave Snow a small smile.
“Besides,” Snow added, her voice soft but firm as she walked over to stand beside me, “I’m going to need you guys back here on the twenty-sixth to help with New Year’s orders.”
Nut held up his hands and feigned surrender. “Yeah, I need a one-day break from the sweets,” he said with a grin. He grabbed a pie with each hand and headed to the door. “Merry Christmas, and I’ll see you in a day.”
Wick grabbed the rest of the pies and pastries and followed Nut out with his own, “Merry Christmas.”
A horn honked outside, and Bonnie shot us a wink. “Merry Christmas, you two!” she called before heading for the door with all the goodies for Guns..
Snow closed the door behind her, and I looked around. It was just Snow and me now.
“Now what?” I asked and leaned against the counter.
Snow turned off the kitchen lights and slowly walked over to me. Without a word, she wrapped her arms around my waist and pressed herself into me, her head tilted up as she looked into my eyes. “Dinner, snuggle by the tree, and then we wake up to see what Santa brought us,” she said with a playful glint in her eyes.
I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of waking up tomorrow with her. My heart beat a little faster, knowing this was just the beginning of something good.
I swept her up into my arms and held her close. “Sounds good to me, but I think there’s something we could do before dinner.”
She raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. “Oh yeah?” she giggled. “And what is that?”
Without answering, I tossed her onto the couch, my body following right after. I covered her with my weight, and my lips brushed hers as I whispered, “Each other.”
