Chapter 19

CHAPTER 19

ARIES

What the hell am I thinking, having not used a condom? I wasn’t, I only wanted to feel her slick and bare against my cock. Even with seeing the terror in her eyes at the thought of her getting knocked up, I didn’t give a damn.

Last night, after my words, Rory didn’t say anything. She didn’t have to. Her expression said it all for her. She’s gonna have to learn to trust me and know that I’m not going to fuck around on her. Nor am I going to do anything to hurt her. I’m gonna have to show her that what Roger did was fucked and not on her.

“You got your head in the clouds,” Kevlar mutters, nudging me with his elbow.

I cock a brow and look at him with a smirk. “Not in the clouds, brother. More like between a sweet pair of legs.”

I left Rory in bed, passed out on her stomach after taking her yet again this morning. Her breathy gasps have a way of making me hard just thinking about them. The only downside to it all was the look she’d gotten in her eyes last night. But not once did she demand I wear a condom or that I not get her pregnant. She’s frightened by it, but in my gut, I’m sure she’d want it.

The idea of knocking her up and watching her belly grow with my kid has some appeal. I wouldn’t mind it in the least. Guess that’s why I don’t give a damn. Because this time around, I’ll be there.

“Right.” Kevlar snorts. He shakes his head, moves into the room we hold church, and calls over his shoulder, “You’re fuckin’ screwed.”

“When it comes to her, I’ve always been fuckin’ screwed, and we both know it.”

“Yeah,” Kevlar admits, losing the humorous look in his eyes. “Guess that’s why it pissed me off finding out she was back here.”

I open my mouth to say something, but he holds a hand up, stopping me. “You don’t have to kick my ass. I know what I didn’t then. I get it, and I’ve got your back. She’s Rory, man, and I know what she means to you.”

“Just like I always knew what Rosemary meant to you the first time you fucked up with her.” That had been funny seeing her slug him for treating her like a whore. She didn’t mind giving him what he deserved.

When it comes to women, those of us in the club, know the difference between a damn good woman that you make an ol’ lady and those that are meant for just having a good time. Those bitches who want to ride our dicks and jump to another is just what they’re around to do. Ride dicks and fuck. That’s the only thing they’ll manage to get out of any of my brothers. No way are they gonna trap one of us into claiming them.

Hell, some of the stories I’ve heard bitches do is enough to make me watch every damn bitch I’ve fucked in the past. Never did I let them put the condom on me. Or even go down on me without a barrier. After I finished and filled the damn thing, I flushed it. I never let a bitch handle the condom themselves. There wasn’t any way I was leaving that shit around for one of them to take and use it for some reason or another. There were a couple times, I’d seen where a woman took a used condom and claimed she’d been raped. I wasn’t about to let that shit happen to me.

Kevlar goes to say something, but the door closes behind Cyprus as he and Viper step into the room.

“We had some uninvited guests early this morning show up at the gate,” Viper announces, getting straight to the point of us all being in church this morning instead of heading out to take care of business. Those sharp eyes of his flashed to me.

“Roger?” I spit out the name like a bad taste in my mouth.

“Two of his men,” Viper states. “They said they know she’s here and advised us to hand her over.”

“And you didn’t come get me?” I’d have killed one of the two and beat the other one, giving him the body to take back to Roger to send the message. I’m not going to fuck around with this.

“You were occupied with getting your head out of your ass and claiming your woman,” Cyprus answers, a smirk playing at the corner of his lip. “We had it under control.”

I shake my head, unable to keep the grin from forming on my lips. I had definitely been busy claiming my woman. She might not think so just yet, but I’ll show her. She’s not getting away from me. Not physically or emotionally. She’s got it in her head that I’ll fuck around on her, and she’s gotta learn I’m not gonna do that shit.

“So, what happened? You invite them in for discussions?” I hope like fuck they did. I’m inching to fuck someone up. Preferably Roger, but his goons will work just as well.

“They took off after Chrome told them at the gate to fuck off.” Viper grunts. “They did warn him they’d be back.”

“Of course, they will. They think they’re scary and that we’ll be shaking in our boots.” Kevlar scoffs and raps his knuckles on the table.

“I’ve been doing a bit more digging into Roger and his business,” Vulture states, eyes glued to his laptop.

“What did you find?”

I wanted to know every damn thing I could find out about the weasel in order to take him down.

Vulture lifts his head and stares directly at me. “You’re not gonna like what I’m gonna share.”

“What?”

“Roger’s men put a call out to him right after they left here,” he starts and looks back at his laptop. “After that call was made, Roger put a call into someone else. That someone being the one who was spoken about before that was wanting to cut him loose.”

“The new head of the death match clubs, Izaiah Cordova. Do we know what he had to say?” Viper asks.

“We don’t, but I’m sure it has to do with us.” Vulture grunts and slams his laptop shut. “I’ve tried to penetrate past his firewall a couple times but haven’t been able to do so just yet.”

“The night of the fight, he told me in warning we stay out of his business, and he’d stay out of ours,” Kevlar remarks.

“He’s left us alone since the fights,” Mace says.

“I think we need to reach out to Izaiah ourselves and see if we can’t find out from him personally,” I suggest.

“I was thinking the same thing,” Cyprus agrees.

“Vulture, we got a number for him?” Viper asks and pulls his cell phone from his pocket.

When we’d designed the clubhouse, we’d taken pointers from Gadget, who made sure they could have their phones on them while in church and not have to worry about bugs. We might be new to the area, but the Devil’s Riot MC has gained a name for itself in working with the Russians and taking out cartels and even a satanic cult. We won’t be fucked with. Not in the least. Someone comes at us, we’ll make them wish they hadn’t.

The same goes for this very situation.

“Yeah, I got his number.” Vulture calls out the number for Viper.

Viper puts his phone on speaker and sets it down in front of him.

“Who is this?” Izaiah answers on the fourth ring.

“Viper, President of the Devil’s Riot MC Mississippi Charter,” Viper informs him. “We need to talk.”

Izaiah doesn’t say anything for a long while, and I thought he might have hung up. When he finally speaks again, he sounds slightly annoyed. “I was wondering when you might be giving me a call. You can tell your tech man to stop trying to get past my firewalls. All he’s doing is causing headaches for me.”

I look to Vulture to find him frowning at the phone.

“How do you know it’s my man fucking with your firewall?” Viper demands.

“Because I’m smarter than him, and he’s got a signature.” At least Izaiah is honest. “Now, to what do I owe this call? Let me guess. You’re calling because of a certain woman who has the voice of a siren when she sings.”

“I take it you know the woman which you mentioned?” Viper asks, eyeing me closely.

“That I do,” Izaiah confirms. “I also know that the man who claims to own her has not only a bounty on her, but also he called to ask a favor of me which I’m not entirely inclined to give to him.”

“And why’s that?”

“Because the nitwit annoys me.” He snorts through the phone. “How about this, you meet me in thirty minutes over at the fight club, and I’ll tell you what else I have to share.”

“You want to tell me why I’d want to meet you?”

This is something I’d like to know as well. What is Izaiah up to?

“Let’s just say, in this, yet again, we share a personal interest. Thirty minutes?”

I don’t see how we shared one before. Then again, Izaiah benefited from us taking Dominic out of the equation.

“We’ll be there,” Viper agrees. He snatches up his phone, disconnects it, and tosses it back on the table. “Looks like we’re gonna have to find out in person.”

“I don’t like the idea of leaving Rory here while we go and meet with him,” I state.

What if it’s all a trap?

What happens if we go out there and Roger’s men attempt to get in here to take her from me?

“We’re not all going,” Viper states, eyeing me. “You, Cyprus, and Wolf are going with me. Everyone else is staying here.”

I nod, agreeing. Kevlar will look out for Rory and make sure she doesn’t get into any trouble.

“I’ve got a question that no one seemed to ask or have answers to yet,” Wolf states.

“What?” I ask, looking at him.

“How did Rory escape the clubhouse? We need to know about the vulnerabilities surrounding us for future reference.”

I forgot about that.

“I was able to figure that out,” Vulture says. “I’ll explain it quick so y’all can get to the fight club. She got out to the back of the property. From what I was able to get on the video feed, she climbed a fuckin’ tree and jumped over.”

Of course, she did. I never should have taught her how to climb a tree. But even I gotta admit she’s one hell of a woman when it comes to being resourceful. I just have to get her to stop overthinking every damn thing and give in to the fact she’s mine, and I’m hers.

That’s one battle I’m not giving up on. She’ll learn and hopefully learn sooner rather than later.
